He has many minor scars scattered around his body, but the only noticeable ones are the scar running across his nose under each eye that he got when he almost didn't dodge a blade fast enough and the saber made one going across his eyes that took his sight from him. He is missing his right hand, which has been replaced by a cybernetic one.
Biography:
Gray has had an interesting life growing up due to his parents. His father was a Mandalorian born and raised until he got fed up with all of the power mongering, as he would put it, and left Mandalore to work as a freelance Mercenary in a strange attempt to make the galaxy a better place. His mother was a human from an odd family background. Her family constantly moved from planet to planet like a band of space gypsies and never stayed in one place for too long. His father took on his mother's last name and kept up the roaming lifestyle as he continued his work as a mercenary. This meant Gray was born and raised on a ship his entire life with no tied to any one faction or group.
Gray was raised under a Mandalorian like style by his father despite his father's history. He grew up learning how to fight as well as how to enjoy it. He was never taught much about his father's home and people however. His mother taught him a lot about life and how to enjoy it, but little in the way a useful skill or trade. This left Gray with an odd mixture of discipline and freedom in his childhood, which he carries over into his adult years.
Gray began working as a mercenary with his father as soon as his father felt he was old enough and trained enough to survive the business. He worked with his father until he finally died during the same job that left the scar across his face while dealing with some pirates for a trader. This left a hole in his heart and a new found curiosity for his father's people. His mother came down sick not long after. After a period of Gray working constantly and selling most of his possessions to pay medical bills, she finally passed away. This devastated him and lead to a year long death wish in job after job. He had deep seated anger issues that started leading him down a dark path until he finally managed to snap out of it and accept his parents fates.
Gray is force sensitive and had been from a young age, but it was never discovered due to a mixture of the mobile nature of his childhood and dumb luck in never running into a jedi or sith. He is not the first one in his family to be this way and it never being discovered. His mother's side of the family has always had a history of being different. A grandmother who could seem to tell what other people were feeling. A cousin who could seem to always win a games of chance without actually cheating. A sibling who keeps having strange dreams and nightmares all the time. All of this is a normal part of life for his odd relatives, so none of it ever seemed out of place for him when he had prophetic and cryptic dreams or could just feel what someone else was going through. There have been several times a weapon just outside of reach suddenly came into reach during a fight, but he rarely noticed those events or even thought them odd when he did.
Gray currently works as a mercenary without any ties to a single group or faction. He tends to not take on obviously illegal jobs, but isn't shy about doing a little bit shady ones. He is willing to do most any kind of work as well so long as the pay is worth the work involved.
Gray eventually learned of both his force sensitivity as well as more about his Mandalorian heritage. He learned that his father belonged to the Raxis clan, and so Gray adopted the name as well. This discovery lead him to delve further into the culture of his father's people until he eventually realized he had been raised and lived as one most of his life without knowing that. This came after most of his clan had left Mandalore due to political disputes and disrespect coming from the other clans, which left Gray as the last member of clan Raxis still dealing with his people.
Gray took up to freedom fighting with his clansmen on the other side of the galaxy in the sector of space containing Xal 3 and Annaj. While fighting on Annaj, Gray took a full clip of rifle ammo to the back to save someone else's life. This almost lead to him losing his own, but he managed to be saved due to receiving immediate enough medical attention. These freedom fighting days didn't last long before everyone who was originally dedicated to the cause just disappeared back to other parts of the galaxy. This era of his life last mark was with him accidentally discovering the planet Tel'erra and introducing the Tel'varn people to the galaxy.
Gray spent time just working after that and built up a bit of a fortune. He turned those credits into companies that he still owns. It was during this time that the Mandalorian Crusaders broke away from Mandalore and had invited his clan, which he had now found himself the alor of, to join them. He accepted under good faith, but soon saw the ugly side of this new group. They had allowed civilians to be slaughtered in their pursuit of war, which lead to Gray walking away from them.
Gray ended up moving his clan away from both the territory of the United Clans and the Mandalorian Crusaders. He lead them back into freedom fighting in order to aid the people who would not be able to win on their own and to spread the Mandalorian culture. This was going well as Doldur was freed of their tyrant and other nearby systems were beginning to see the clan's attention, but it was not meant to last his cousin Jack Raxis betrayed both the clan and their people by attacking the new Mand'alor Ra Vizsla on Kashyyk during an invasion. The clan had stayed out of the war to pursue their goals, but this ended up turning hostile attention towards them from the clans after the betrayal.
Gray went to Ra after hearing of the betrayal to confirm it for himself. It had all been true, and so in an attempt to take some of the hostility away from his clan and to pacify the bloodlust of the clans he offered himself up for trial in Jack's place. The trial was nothing more than an angry mob ready to condemn and lynch him despite his innocence, but it came to an end when Gray agreed to Ra's conditions. His hand was removed by Ra at the end of it for punishment and to quell the thirst for blood from the clans. Now he is trying to push forward after the betrayal for the sake of his clan and loved ones.
Shortly after the end of the Mandalorians' campaign to purge the core of the Sith and Republic, Gray lead his clan to Castamere to fight with the other Mandalorians. During the ground battle to take the Citadel there housing the generator, the forces he was leading were caught in a trap and found artillery raining down on them. It was a living hell that they went through and when it was finally over, Gray had lost over half the clansmen he had brought with him there. The battle for Castamere was considered a victory by the Galaxy but for Gray it was an overwhelming defeat. He was not the same after and what little confidence he had in his abilities to lead were shattered. It left a deep wound in his heart that caused him to withdraw from others at the time.
A month after the battle's end, Gray vanished completely. He had gone with a shipment of WESTAR products to clear his head after Castamere when it was suddenly ambushed. He remembers little from this event, but those who did it left no trace or clue behind to follow. He was captured and tormented for months as a group lead by three dark siders tried to convert him over. Their attempts proved unsuccessful and when Gray was released by a sympathetic follower, he ended all three of their lives. He lost his eyes to the leader of the group shortly before he killed them. The one who helped him tried to help him get back to safe space when they were ambushed by pirates near Roon. Gray found himself stranded on the planet for a few weeks before a mysterious message was sent out and he was found once more.
Personality:
Gray seems like a very easy-going guy to those who just meet him. He is a friendly guy who makes the worst puns and terrible jokes imaginable while being flirty with attractive women. This tends is not entirely who he actually is deep down though as he deals with feelings of shame and self-doubt due to his past. He tried to keep his darker side buried deep down and ignore it, but after the torments he went through he has stopped doing so. This can lead him to be more willing to express his anger and fear than he would have before.
Gray tends to be a very nice, generous guy in most situations. While he isn't afraid of a good brawl, he tends to lean towards more peaceful interactions. He is quicker to anger now and is prone to panic attacks if his PTSD is triggered.
