OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Alor Mig Gred
Fleet CAG Vaux Gred
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Gred Fleet started as a loose collection of Clan Gred bounty hunting vessels, lead by the MC18 Basilisk. Over time, the fleet has become a still small, but formidable fleet that incorporates both new and old vessels. While it looks a bit hodge-podge, the fleet has been noted for its fast attack tactics, reflecting the clan's own melee fighting style.
By the time of the Battle of Taanab, the fleet was lead by the MC30c Keros' Kad, and took part in the United Clans of Mandalore defense of the humanitarian world. At the time, the fleet was just over three kilometers in full length, and commanded by Admiral Elijah Gred. The Blades of Concord Dawn engaged a smaller, similarly sized section of the CIS fleet. While the battle ended in the lose of multiple capital ships, the fleet did inflict damage, including launching a Baradium missile in high atmosphere. While at a safe height, this acted ended in Elijah Gred and his first officer being reduced to shipmen, and command was taken on more personally by Alor Mig Gred.
After Taanab, the clan was given The Doge as a new command ship, and a new, twelve kilometer fleet was formed around it. This included the surviving Nebulan-B2, renamed Taanabian Spirit in honor of those lost and those who survived in the battle. The fleets most difficult trial was soon to come though.
Joined by a Cadera-class battleship that had come to Concord Dawn for training, and the Torrent-type stealth ships, the fleet was force into defending the agricultural world from the Sith Empire in what would be known as Hammerfall. The fleet managed to hold back the Sith for most of the fight, with reinforces coming in later in the battle. Even though the fleet managed to hold back the Sith, they still took heavy loses, including the Taanabian Spirit and The Doge. Pulling together what they could, the fleet was reformed, and new flagship was designed and laid down, being given the name Keros' Kad. The new fleet may be a bit smaller than it was before, coming in at 10.3km, but it is still a force to be reckoned with.
After the Battle of Kintan, the fleet was put into a strange place. More and more, the lack of crews became more apparent, and exactly what the fleet was used for changed with this. It became less of a true Mandalorian fleet, and more of a refugee fleet, have individuals of various groups willing out the ships' ranks. Even with this, the ships themselves became more like flying homes, with families kept aboard them. Clan Gred began to refit various ships they had picked up from anti-slaver raids, and even modified two scavenged Firebrand-class vessels to help ease the load of the ships. Along with this, the shipyard Artemis became the home of the fleet, as apposed to a single world. The fleet also got its hands on more up-to-date Viper MKIIs and HA-2 Pikes to assist with defense. Even so, sightings of the larger Keros' Kad and Concordia became rarer as the larger ships were mostly hidden from the greater galaxy.
With the Mandalorian Union's rise, Clan Gred was able to begin producing new Mandalorian models of ships, and would finally begin to update some of the more aged members of the fleet. The addition of the Sur'haai-class, Atin'la-class, Shield-class, Dinii-class, and DF-1 squadrons has boosted the fleets capabilities. Along with this, many of the ships civilian crews have been able to leave the vessels and settle on either Concord Dawn, or the Star Phoenix. In the end, the fleet's combat branch as reached 11.7 km.
