I'm any case, while I'm busy making my character I have just a couple of questions:
1) For the major factions, such as the Order of the Silver Jedi, do I need to apply in some way, or can I just write in my character's bio that they're a part of the faction?
2) In the Character Creation Rules, it says that those who wield the force need to be taught by someone on the boards- how would I go about picking a character to do this?

Here's a tip, don't marry your niece.
Best thing to do is go to settings, add a sub account with the character name you want.
Then, find the faction you want and join them. If you're joining a major faction you can find a trainer within those faction forums. Or you can ask generally on the board in the LFG forum.

Watch the deserts...the nomads are coming....
You'll create a new 'character' sub account, the blue ones. That has your character name.
Of course, if you're writing a character named Heraclius (and I hope you are! ) then you just need change your profile avatar and post your bio under your current account.
