Currently we use a custom timeline beginning at 835 ABY and interspersing fun 'Galaxy Events' every few years after. It's very loose and can include material from all sorts of different SW canons. Some characters, and even writers, ignore it all together and simply enjoy roleplaying without a care in the world. Your preference.
