Grey Plague Outbreak

UPDATE: Okay, the thread is up; I've mentioned those that have responded so far, but any others should feel welcome to come help.

On the Zhornee homeworld of Vullain, there has been a large outbreak of the Grey Plague in outlying villages. Unable to handle the situation themselves, the Zhornee Empire is reaching out for assistance in the form of doctors and healers to tend to the sick, as well as assistance in establishing a quarantine.

Details on the Grey Plague​

This disease is spread quickly though bodily fluids, such as blood, saliva, etc.​

It begins to affect the body mere hours after contraction, in four stages.​

Stage 1​

The infected will begin to shake and sweat uncontrollably; this is usually when the disease is spread.​

​

Stage 2​

After a day or so, the infected will begin to excrete blood from their orifices such as their eyes and mouth, and will go through a period where they cannot move.​

​

Stage 3​

After a week, the infected will begin to itch. While seemingly harmless at first, the itch will intensify as they scratch. This will go on for hours, until the infected tears off their own skin in an attempt to get rid of the itch.​

​

Stage 4​

After all this suffering, the plague finally runs it's course, and slowly shuts down the infected's body in a slow and painful death.​

Greetings,

Semper Medtech would generously sell medical supplies to a very cheap price. Fronting that the medium sized company want to promote their products.


However, strictly OOC, this is only a cover to smuggle spice to the planet in order to establish an illegal drug market controlled by the Hutt Cartel.
Primarily I want to use this as part of Medtechs growrh and expanding market but naturally it might lead to other storyangles depending on local police/authorities etc.

Is this OOC ok?

Are certain types of beings immune?
What are the benefits of helping?
Does the disease affect brain matter?

In order:
The disease is communicable to other humanoid species, but it requires much more exposure than it would for a Zhornee; say, several instances of contact with bodily fluids.
Beings with extreme resistance to disease are immune, just as they would be to any other disease; as well as non-humanoids.
IC-wise, you will be monetarily rewarded; OOC, the Zhornee Empire will owe you a favor in the future.
And finally, the disease does not affect the brain until stage 4, where it slowly shuts it down.
