Description:
From the Wiki:
Grievous's castle was the personal retreat of the cyborg Supreme Commander of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, General Grievous. Located on the third moon of the Outer Rim world of Vassek, the castle was built into the rock face of a large gorge. Shrouded by the moon's heavy fog, Grievous's castle was specifically designed to cater to the needs of the general, with an operating and repair room, a hangar for his starfighter, and several booby traps intended for intruders.
History: Aside from canon history, the history of the castle where Dissero is concern is something rather simple. Following his tenure as Master of Vaults within the Sith Empire and the defection of said Empire via the Rudrig Heist at the side of Velok, Dissero knew his time living in the limelight and even in the public at all had come to an end. He would need to lay low and take time to assess his options and priorities. Grievous' Castle had been something of a side project for the Archivist-turned-Alchemist, and while he'd not poured a large amount of time into finding the place before hand it suddenly became clear that it was just the right place for him to go. Velok's demise at the hands of the Jedi during the Great Holocron Auction of Contruum was just the fuel needed to light that fire. The halls of the building were adorned with statues depicting the General as a Kaleesh warrior with mechanical limbs. An extensive warehouse was stacked with replacement parts for the mechanical general ... Other areas of the castle included the arena in which Grievous kept his pet roggwart Gor and another area where he stored trophies taken from dead Jedi. His castle also included a control room where he could monitor the halls. From the control room he could activate various traps including releasing Gor and triggering a trap door leading to a molten incinerator vat. The control room's door could only be opened by pressing a number of buttons in the correct order.
The castle also featured a room called the "Sanctum overlook".
After uncovering the castle Dissero went to work towards making it his own, but not without maintaining the historical relevance the place held. The majority of the castle was left intact - all the statues of the late General still stand just as he found them and most of the original decor and architecture remains in place. The castle's traps were disabled and the control room dismantled. After hundreds of years of decay and unuse everything needed replacing. Using his extensive wealth gained from the Great Holocron Auction Dissero poured both time and credits into upgrading the security and surveillance as well as repurposing many of the old chambers and rooms.
Hangar: Emptied and expanded to allow room for three more crafts. A reinforced durasteel panel that opens side to side allows access.
Operating & Repair Room: Structure maintained and repair. This area was renovated into a workshop for the Alchemist and now contains several sectioned areas for work on varying things including two minor forges for small projects like holocrons, amulets, trinkets and crystallography. The main forge was constructed from cannibalized pieces of Isley Verd's reproduction of the Dark Forge, stolen from his homestead alongside Jared Ovmar, and is used for larger projects that include but are not limited to swords, major weapons and armor, and other pieces requiring its power. The main forge's intake was expanded down into the lower levels where Faenrovon the Radiant guards Dissero's vault and can send up blazes of dragonsfire to heat the forge for specialized pieces. The molten incinerator vat that once served as a hideous trap for interlopers now helps to power the main forge.
Roggwart's Lair: Cleared out and reinforced. Structured with a new access tunnel to allow Faenrovon the ability to come and go as he pleases. The access to Dissero's vault is built into the floor of the Arkanian Dragon's Lair.
Warehouse: What manner of things remained behind were either sold or used. The warehouse was converted into an armory and training facility. Weapons of all types line racks on the walls. Various areas of the arena facilitate different training approaches. There is a sparring area for hand to hand combat and weapons training, a high-tech saber training room, an obstacle course and a weight training/gymnasium area.
Trophy Room: Everything found is this room remains but was placed in display cases along the walls and within the furniture. This room was renovated to become Dissero's new study and archival hub, allowing him access to all other Fringe Archive Hubs he set up within his time of the Confederacy. It stands as a library and quiet retreat for those looking to read or study.
Sanctum Overlook: What equates to the main communal living area of the Castle. It was refurbished for ease and comfort of the Castle occupants in a studio style arrangement featuring full kitchen, lounge, holonet/comm desk, holoprojector conference/dining table, and an area devoted to Dissero's love of music where the piano gifted to him by his father Avicus sits on display, surrounded by all manner of other instruments.
Control Room: This maintains its original use and serves as a surveillance station. Cameras and security systems implanted throughout the campus as well as monitors surrounding the gorge send constant feed of activity into this room. Total lockdown of the castle is still controlled from here though the traps historically placed by Grievous are no longer operable.
Additions: Using the remaining living space of the Castle and overhauling those areas, four rooms were created for the inhabitants. A master bedroom serves as the private quarters of Dissero and Verie, a second bedroom was given to Cerita, the third bedroom to Mahet, and the fourth serves as a guest room. Each room has its own bathing facilities and is afforded a view of the fog-filled gorge beyond. The rooms are all quite large and spacious - enough that Cerita renovated part of her own into a contained greenhouse for her own projects.
Intent: To codify a home that has been part of Dissero's story for quite some time now and to have a place to note the changes for the reference of other rpers.
