The Vardan Octagon Mining Complex is the largest center for strip mining and metal manufacturing within the grasp of the G.I.M. Spanning an estimated area of one-hundred and seventy five kilometers or one-hundred and eight standard miles. However, that is exclusively the facility itself. Whilst the actual open-pit mine itself is over two-hundred and fifty kilometers or roughly one-hundred and fifty-five standard miles. The planet of Varadan is itself a very rich mineral world that contains boastfully rich veins of metals that can go on for tens of hundreds of kilometers at one time, making it a prime target for a massive mining complex for the interstellar manufacturing company.
Large tracked and wheeled vehicles help to carry huge loads of raw ore, while exclusively tracked vehicles and large mining droids chip away at the sandstone and the rock to try and extract as many minerals as they can. Given the extreme heat, droids were exclusively used. The 'miners' are more-so the individuals who planned out new areas to mine for resources or who helped to deliver materials and the majority of these 'miners' worked on the actual mining complex.
