The room was a buzz, quite literally in fact. Machines littered about the room were working in their busy hums, there were diagnostics being ran on a handful of screens, and Maggie herself was mulling about between all of the above, making sure everything was going as it needed to be. Off to the side of the room, EVOH was jacked into one of the systems, still conscious and aware of the ongoings, but unable to move due to both updates and works being done to her at the moment. The occasional commentary would of course come from the 'droid, but the creator mulling about the room paid her only enough mind to answer the occasional inquiry.

As always, the lab was open to those who knew the codes to get within. Anyone who had a hand in working on EVOH, anyone who worked in the lab for whatever reason, and of course anyone who had a hand in funding the projects within. Normally, when Maggie was within the room, most people left her be - unless they were on her team. Not because she was rude, or mean, or hateful to those who ventured in and out, but because she was a busy bee. There was little she paid mind to once she got into work mode, and because of this, most just tended to stay out of the way.

Today had been no different, though the blonde smarty pants had been within the lab for hours now. The occasional commentary that came from EVOH was about her creator needing a break. Food, hydration, just to sit down for a little while, but as usual Maggie wasn't listening.

"There's an issue in the programing," she muttered, more to herself than to EVOH. She had noticed just the slightest hesitation in weapon changing during the last testrun she had put the android through. "I can't seem to find it, but I know it's there..." she sighed and lifted a hand to rake her fingers through her long locks. "What am I missing?" again she sighed, curled her fingers long enough to grip the locks of her hair, then released them and dropped her arm against her side with an audible smack.

She was starting to get frustrated. "Maybe I do need a break..."

The Ensign was starting to fidget under Vemric's piercing gaze as they stood in the hangar of the Requiem.

A brow lifted at this as the tall High Marshal looked down at the young man who obviously did not know how the Sephi worked yet.
"Who is your Commanding Officer?" Vemric asked him aloofly.
"C-Commander Hershaw, Admiral, Sir." the young man said meekly.
Vemric lifted his chin even higher, looking down his nose at the Ensign. "I suggest you go tell him what you were trying to stammer to me. And tell him I said he should give you proper protocol training before you address me ever again. Is that clear?" he asked in an icy tone.
"Y-yes, Admiral, Sir." the kid squeaked before scampering off.
Vemric exhaled through his nose in exasperation.

He needed to take a walk.

The Requiem was hanging in orbit over Maramere. It was definitely not Naboo, but the aquatic planet served Vemric well enough when he was on duty here, even though he spent most of his time on his ship. He had the option of flying down to the surface, but the great 'Cruiser just felt more like home than this planet ever will. So a walk along the halls of the Battlecruiser was more relaxing than most would think.

As he moved through the corridors, he got saluted around every corner. Although that was what he expected from his personnel and how it should be, he knew himself. If his mood did not subside quickly, someone would be losing a head.

As he strolled past the lab, he had a thought. He had been personally funding scientific projects on this ship for months now. It was high time he checked up on them. So the High Marshal gracefully changed direction back to the lab. Entering the code, it slid open with just a slight woosh.
His tall, regal frame remained in the doorway as he took in the surroundings.

A droid was hooked up in a corner, spouting all kinds of comments at a woman dressed in the typical Naval Scientist uniform whom seemed truly frustrated right this second. A brow lifted as his hands were folded behind his back.
"Is this a bad time, Doctor Shaw?" he asked in his usual aloof tone.

"Maggie-"

"Ah! Well there's that at least." How long had Maggie been working on getting EVOH to stop calling her by her full name? So this was a huge deal in her eyes. Unfortunately, her reaction also cut into whatever it was the android was attempting to say to her. A fact which would bite her in the backside as soon as there was another voice that filled the room.

When she was addressed, it startled Maggie, causing her to nearly leap out of her skin in reaction. She whipped around, eyes slightly widened as she gazed across the distance at the (not) intruder to her lab. Of course it would be today or all days that the High Marshal decided to drop in and check on her and EVOH's progress.

"Admiral," She was quick to straighten herself and press any wrinkles out of her attire. "I, uh...." she glanced at EVOH, who looked as if she would stand if she were able to do as such, but was instead staring across the distance at the man in the doorway instead. Maggie however had never been one to lie unless it was life or death - and even then it was iffy - and this was not one of those moments.

"No," she answered his inquiry with a sigh, deflating a little. "It's not a bad time. I'm just...having some technical difficulties with some coding. Nothing dangerous, just a testament of my OCD and how it gets the best of me at times." Again she sighed, and then her gaze drifted back to the Admiral. "Was there some inspection scheduled for today that I undoubtedly forgot all about..?"

The brow lifted even higher at her answer and enquiry.

He stepped into the lab, hands still behind his back and posture erect as he looked around.
"I do not believe I need to schedule an inspection to check up on my investments, now do I?" he asked her, still looking around the lab at some of the biological displays.

He finally turned and looked at her, his face blank.
Now, what seems to be the problem? I was under the impression this droid has been completed and was authorised to function at full capacity?" he asked her.

One of the reasons he had opted to fund her research was because of her drive for perfection in her projects. To date she had not disappointed, even if he was a silent benefactor most of the time. It coincided well with his own endeavour to create a superior class within Naval affairs.

He walked over to the droid, looking it up and down.
"This is exceptional work, Doctor. What do you call this model again?" he asked, his tone slightly lighter than usual. It really was a well put together piece of machinery.
