Intent: To develop a next series of standard battle droids for Aurora Industries to sell
Development Thread: If necessary
Manufacturer: Aurora Industries
Model: Guardia Battle Droid
Affiliation: Open Market
Modularity: None
Production: Mass-produced
Material: Quadanium steel, Sianium, droid components
Classification: Fourth Degree
Weight: 70 kg
Height: 2 meters
Movement: Bipedal
Armaments:
Integrated dual laser cannons on the right arm
One Energy Sword
Two Thermal Detonators
Misc. Equipment:
One Si-Cryo Hybrid Power Core
Dual layered Quadanium steel armor plating
Extra servos in the joints for greater speed and movement when in combat
Magnetic and anchor clamps in feet to allow it to remain in place when needed
Photoreceptors and back-up composite radiation sensors
Strengths:
+ Decent weaponry for a standard battle droid with its energy sword and dual laser cannons
+ Heavily armored due to the dual layering of Quadanium Steel plating
+ Extra servos allow it to move faster and easier than it normally could
Weaknesses:
+ Ion weaponry and EMPs, as always, are able to bring this droid down with no problem
+ The droid's programming makes it rely heavily on the energy sword it uses. If disarmed, the droid is quite easy to defeat
Description:
It had been a long time coming, but Taeli and the engineers at Aurora Industries finally decided to move the project off the back burner and develop a replacement for the old Legion Droids that company had first created when they had been Krayt Industries. The Legion Droid was considered obsolete now, and a reminder of what the company had been and had now evolved into. In that regard, Taeli commissioned the brand new Guardia Battle Droid to replace them.
The Guardia takes the idea of what the old Legion Droid had been and upgraded almost every aspect of it. Instead of durasteel, the Guardia is armored in a dual layer of quadanium steel. The droid is equipped with back-up composite radiation sensors in case the droid's photoreceptors are impaired or disabled. Extra servos were added to the joints of the droid to allow to move faster and easier than the armoring would normally allow. The Guardia Battle Droid is powered by one of Aurora Industries's proprietary Si-Cryo Hybrid Power cores, utilizing Sianium technology to power its systems.
The Guardia is equipped with an integrated dual laser cannon in its right arm and is equipped with a longsword variant of an energy sword. It also comes with two thermal detonators that it can use in a pinch, but it relies mainly upon its energy sword in combat. The Guardia does have a few weaknesses however. Ion weaponry and EMPs will take it offline easily, a common weakness for battle droids. The droid also relies heavily on its energy sword in combat, so if it is disarmed, it loses effectiveness quickly even though it is equipped with a laser cannon.
