Guess who is coming to dinner

A single space and in this singular place she planned on meeting her father for the first time, she also planned on telling him about Nolan. She was not afraid of this meeting she was anxious, she had not known any other man except her Uncle as a father.

What would this [member="Strider Garon"] be like, she knew that [member="Nolan Detta"] respected him immensely. Would that remain once her relationship with him was revealed., not that she expected him to care so much but their cultures were different.

Her Aunt had made sure she adhered to the Emberlene customs, and she had. She had painstakingly done so.

But now standing in the middle of this room, with food and drink being set on the table famly style she waited for him.

She waited for Nolan as well might as well do this all at once. She breathed easy.

This was the story of his life. Sins of his past now catching up to him in many forms. Strider had spent a life as a professional soldier, fighting wars across teh galaxy for Mand'alor after Mand'alor and on top of that fighting wars for other nations as famously mandalorians would do. So in doing so, the hound of keldabe hopped from battle field to battle field, space port to space port spreading his love through his endless and on quenching thirst for the lustful desires of women. He knew who he was and knew that was never going to change.

But here he was, standing at the entrance door of one of his confirmed bastards that sought him out. What did they want from the old man? an apology? Did they want money? Strider was a soldier, he wasn't paid much. He had his homestead that he was more the willing the fill with these children of his. He was a man of honor...... well his view of honor. Here was this infamous and legendary warrior, stunned in nervousness and fear of what was to be had behind the door.

"Nut up you old kark!" Strider would encourage himself to place fist to door in a subtle knock. He did not wear his beskar'gam this day, just simple garb of worn black combat trousers, old combat boots and a Dark grey T shirt that fit snuggly around his chiseled frame. His long black hair was held back with his lucky red head band. He had a bottle of Tihaar in one hand, a box of his favorite Dilnlexan cigars that had a bag of Uj cakes.

*KNOCK KNOCK*

Nolan pulled upto the place that Satine had told him about, the place where they'd both meet her father. Satine had told him if this meeting on Tatooine when they'd met. He was shocked but at the same time not by the note the [member="Strider Garon"] was her father. The Hound of Keldabe, the biggest tail chaser this side of the galaxy, he would have to run in to one of his offspring eventually. Although, it being Satine made this different. Nolan was smitten with her and Strider doesn't share well.

Nolan had on his dress uniform, scruffy face, and cropped hair. A box of Circe Green and a dessert pastry, sat in his arms as he walked up. His spine shivered as he saw Strider waiting at the front door before him. He wasn't afraid if Strider, just of the idea of him possibly realizing what this meeting's secret meaning was. To show Nolan off to daddy.

He gulped and walked up behind Strider.

"Ge'catra ori'vod."

There was lots of noise Satine prayed to the goddess for a moment and then headed to the door as she touched the door she could hear voices she tried not to laugh they were both at the door at the same time, how fortuitous she opened the door and looked at the man standing there.

He was OLD!!!! Sorry my writer just couldn't resist.

He was not quite what she expected, "Come in [member="Strider Garon"]" then she saw [member="Nolan Detta"] a smile spread over her face it had been a short time since she had last seen him and she had missed him. "Cyar'ika" she whispered she wanted to reach over and hold him close to feel the warmth that was him and fuse it to her. But that would have to wait, until later.

"I thought it was time we all met, I'm very glad you came" She looked at Strider her father....he was weathered and war torn it was probably what drew her mother to him. Just as it had drawn her to Nolan. Somethings never change.

The woman before him was beautiful, such was a comforting thought for she must of taken her mothers looks. Strider would nod in respect to his host and enter the apartment. What he was confused was why was one of his prized soldiers there as well? It was time we "all" met? The old man may have been out of touch with the youth of this nation but he was starting to paint the picture. He didn't know if he liked it or not but the Detta was smitten with his new found daughter. That was from just a quick glance and reading the emotions, the eye contact and why else would the pup be here? Or was he over reacting?

" Thank you Satine!" He would reply, his eyes now falling upon the young man that had followed him in. His glare was ice cold formed by artic glaciers. "Nolan!" He acknowledged his presence somewhat uncomfortably. Strider did not know why he had a sense of anger and jeliously building up in him. Was it a father's natural instict to want to protect but who was he to judge. He was not her father in the fullest. Today was the first day he had laid direct visual on her. He was nothing more then a stranger to her then she was to him. Though, Strider had full intentions of changing that. It seemed he had an army of bastards making their way home to claim their heritage. The best he could do was be there for them and make up for lost time.

His focus fell upon Satine once more " I brought you some gifts " He would extend his collection to her, the Tihaar first and then the box of cigars and bag of fresh uj cakes.

Nolan felt the cold stare of Strider as he acknowledged him. He followed Strider inside and stood to the side as They greeted. He placed his box of ale on the floor. He was wondering how the night was going to go, was Strider going to be cordial or angry about him dating his unknown daughter.

In his pocket lay a small box, he'd purchased it earlier that day when he was out getting errands done. Inside was a shot, a shot at happiness and love and family. It was the most important thing he was ever going to do and he was nervous. The box contained a ring, with which he was going to ask Satine to marry him.

He stood, silently patient until he was addressed.

Satine nodded to [member="Strider Garon"], "gifts" she asked. It was tradition when you went to someone's to break bread to bring along something to go with the meal. She looked now at what he offered, Tihaar she held it up, "I hear it is very strong" She set it to the small table there, then she was handed the cigars, she didn't smoke, but it was a grand gesture, "something for after the meal" yes he could smoke them.

And then the Uji cake, "Oooo very nice, thank you for everything I'm sure we'll find good use of them"

then Satine's gaze fell on [member="Nolan Detta"] he seemed on edge, "I understand the two of you know each other, and that there is a strong bond between you" She asked watching.

Strider would nod in respect as his daughter would accept the gifts he had brought. But now her focus was upon [member="Nolan Detta"] and was inquiring about their relations to each other and more specifically their standings. The question that Strider wanted answered was why was the boy here in the first place? He thought this was going to be a dinner where he got to know his daughter with out distractions. But, he was a guest and so was Strider in [member="Satine D'ulin"] home and will oblige the girl's curiosity.

"Nolan and I have fought a few battles together in the name of Mand'alor. He loyal soldier and talented warrior worthy of wearing the armor of our people and his clan." He would honestly praise the young man in all truism. "May I ask how you two know each other?" Strider would question back, he somewhat got the gist of their relations. The hound of keldabe knows such things and for a young man to be calling upon such a creature of beauty was not just by chance. His old inquisitive eyes would glance between to two knowing full well that his assumptions were probably true, that these two were involved with each other.

Satine was an adult and only now has come to be part of Strider's life. The absent father had no grounds to stand on when it came to his opinion on who the girl should be coupling with. But then again, this was just assumption.... who knows, this man could just be a very good friend. Maybe one of those token queer friends that pretty ladies like to keep close by? Wishful thinking.........

Nolan looked to Strider as he posed the question about his and Satine's meeting. He looked to Satine and smiled, he could not help it.

We met on Tatooine, on a job for the Hutt that presides there. He tasked us with a challenge to defeat a beast, who shall win, would be granted a bounty on three heads. We were faced against a Krayt Dragon, I used myself as the distraction as they are attracted to...He paused as he was unsure if he should finish his sentence...Anyway, I subdued it and Satine here finished it off. By our show of skill, we were tasked together to complete the bounties. We...found a connection in the midst of the hunt. It was there that I began to court her. I must say, with honor Strider, there is no finer huntress, nor fairer beauty that I have ever seen.

Nolan blinked as he realized he'd just revealed his feelings for Satine to The Hound of Keldabe.

Satine laughed a little, "I am happy to see you both, Nolan is here as my chosen, and you are here because you are my father. You two know each other and have from what I understand a great respect for one another."

Satine went to Nolan and kissed his cheek, then turned to her father. "I am not one to hide things, and since Nolan knows you, I wanted him here." She wasn't sure how Strider would take all of this but surely he would understand that she wasn't sure exactly how this meeting would go.

"Come sit, let us enjoy the food that has been prepared, and drink to family. Strider Garon you must tell me more about how you met my mother" Satine always enjoyed stories of her mother did Strider know her mother was dead? Or would she be the one telling him.

She led the two men inside to find a place to sit, nodding to the droid to serve. Food and drink often made tongues loose. She looked at Nolan to see how he was she could tell from his face if all was alright, something however was a bit off. She squeezed his arm trying to reassure him.

Nolan grasped Satine's hand on his arm, her warm, soft skin settled his nerves like a good swig from a fine whiskey. He could just fold into that hand, the hand of the one whom he'd want to spend eternity amongst the stars. In the dangerous life he braved, Nolan found his anchor to hold on to. It kept him sane to think she was with him, held him on course for he was a Wreckingball with no crane to guide his swing.

"I'm excited to taste what you've whipped up. I've been saving my appetite all day."

It was a lot of news to process, Strider had his suspicions from perception alone but here he was visiting his daughter for the first time and to find out one of his best vod had already made knowledge of her before him. Now should he be happy? Or should he grab the Chakaar and pulverize his face into dust? Both emotions spiked through the old warrior as he sat their and digested the news. His reaction did not come fast and somewhat painstakingly delayed.

He would move towards the bottle of Tihaar he had brought for the hostess and quickly with an experienced had removed the lid from the strong alcoholic beverage. He then grabbed three glasses and poured two fingers worth in each for all three of them. "Congratulations are in order" Strider smiled at the couple "I could not think of a better man that i would trust with my kind" That was his blessing, even though he was not in a position to give one for being an absent father.

He handed both their glasses of tihaar and raised his glass in cheers. Then in one gulp he would skull the beverage back as if he was at the Oyu'baat. The harsh bitter and soul inflaming liquid burned all the way down but such a delighful feeling did no stop the old man from reaching for a second.

Nolan breathed a sigh of relief as Strider gave a long awaited go ahead to Nolan and Satine's union. He may have not been a part of her life, but Nolan respected Strider so much, that were he to object, Nolan would be forced to oblige.

Oya! he raised his glass to Strider and Satine. At vencuyot aliit Detta

Nolan let out a huge smile, one rarely seen on a Detta. Nolan was truly happy. He felt warmth in his heart for the first time since Keldabe.

Satine raised her glass, looking from Strider to Nolan this was good, she could accept this. "Oya, yes to the future, to" her hand she put on Nolan's chest over his heart, "a bonding that will know joy, truth, family, and love" She smiled, then she looked to Strider.

She tried to find pieces of herself in him, in his face it was hard. "Thank you Strider, your acceptance is most welcome." She did not want to be at odds with him, at least until they knew where they each stood.

"Let us break bread too, before it's cold" She laughed as she took a drink. She could not be happier for once she felt complete, whole not as if a part of her was wondering somewhere waiting to be found.

Nolan, how much she loved him her, what was the world runi, ner runi. my soul.
