Image Credit: Here. Photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator in T2.
Role: Assassin droid, Archangel commander, military adviser to Enyo.

Permissions: Can use Firemane stuff because I own the company. Permission for subs made by Laira Darkhold's writer here and here.
Links: Enyo Typhos, Archangel Research and Design, Sisters of Blood and Iron I, II and III, Caoimhe.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Age: Ten as a droid. Resembles a human male in his late thirties.
Model: Myrmidon HRD
Appearance: Gunther appears to be a tall, strongly built human late in his late thirties. He is very muscular and has the build of a boxer or wrestler. He has a prominent chin and an edged face. Wears his dark hair very short, military style. In battle he tends to wear combat armour depending on the situation. Outside of combat he will wear civilian clothes or a uniform in order to blend in.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
Name: Gunther Stahl.
Loyalties: Enyo Typhos, Archangel Research and Design, Revenant Industries, Typhos Clone Family.
Notable Equipment:

Skills: Gunther is an assassin droid, a soldier and a battlefield commander. He is very good at passing for human and can simulate organic emotion and interact in social situation. His true talent lies as a soldier and leader though. He is very good at utilising a variety of ranged and melee weapons, taking advantage of his robotic strength and tenacity as well as his human self's experience. Moreover, he is skilled in military leadership, tactics, strategy and organisation. He is a decent pilot, as his droid nature gives him superior reflexes.

Personality: Like any HRD, he is logical, tireless and dedicated to his role. He adopts the persona of a grizzled, gruff paramilitary commander with a no-nonsense attitude. This fits the background of his human self, who was a commander in the first Sith Empire, and also the role he plays in Archangel's hierarchy. Many HRDs developed by the company play different roles over the years, changing persona and appearance like a snake sheds its skin. However, his role is rather fixed. Archangel has utilised him as a soldier, an assassin droid and a commander.

Outside of combat he has enough free will to alternate his behaviour depending on interaction. His personality tends to resemble that of his original self. He's particularly adept at impersonating organics in martial-related professions, such as policemen, mercenaries and soldiers. On the flip side, he's less convincing the more he gets removed from this niche. He's capable of expressing something close to annoyance when put into a role that does not involve violence. Killing may be something he is programmed to do, but he is also convinced that it is the best use of his abilities.

His ability to analyse a battle, come up with a plan and a time frame to carry it out makes him a capable battlefield commander. In addition, he's also good in fight because he's an HRD. He is able to process and adapt to sudden changes on the battlefield and adjust his methods accordingly, rather than blindly following directives like a drone. It helps that he is free of morals. However, Gunther is not cruel, just efficient. He has no qualms about utilising tactics such as ambushes, feints, torture, human shields, nerve gas, mine fields or terror bombings. Anything goes as long as it allows him to complete his objective. In short, he does not act out of malice but also has no conscience.

Gunther is a machine, and thus treats troops as game pieces. He does not waste them, but is also unfazed by casualties. This means he will not shirk from making hard choices and is fully capable of sacrificing assets to achieve a larger goal. It cause issues with organic troops, as it makes him seem rather callous. While his tactical and strategic programming is formidable, he is a groundpounder and thus would be out of his depths if someone put him in charge of a fleet in space. Due to a glitch in his programming, Gunther has a tendency to speak in a heavy accent.

COMBAT INFORMATION
Weapon of Choice
: Various blasters and slugthrowers as well as melee weapons. He has a liking for high-powered assault rifles, shotguns, and rotary cannons. His melee weapon of choice is his Phrik sword. He also makes use of a Firemane Boltgun against Force-Users.

Combat Function: Gunther is incredibly strong and a highly capable soldier. As an HRD he possesses superhuman strength and is far more durable than a human. He feels no pain, fear or remorse and will continue with his mission unless destroyed or deacativated. As he feels no pain he can use his body as a weapon or to smash through barriers. Phrik endoskeleton makes him highly resistant to lightsabres. He is also very resistant to blaster bolts, projectile weapons and so on. Limbs can be severed, but he will fight on regardless. Being an HRD, he is designed to look, act and seem human. This means he can blend into social situations. Like any HRD he can mimic voices.

Moreover, Gunther is a skilled military commander. Being a droid, he is free of vices such as arrogance or anger. He also feels no emotional attachment to his troops, viewing them as pieces on a board. Thus he is able to make sacrifices in pursuit of a larger goal. His ability to learn from setbacks, store and analyse vast amounts of information makes him formidable. Thus he will usually be commanding Archangel troops rather than appearing on his lonesome, though he is also a formidable combatant on his own.

However, while his skeleton is very resistant to damage, the organic overlay is not. In an infiltration situation, damage to it will easily break his cover, as it will expose the metal beneath his synthskin. Around Force-users he will appear 'odd'. An empath could pick up on the lack of internal emotion.
His skeleton is 50% heavier than the regular durasteel and fully double the weight of the polymer infiltrator skeletons. This can cause problems in infiltration scenarios and makes detection via magnetic scans easier.

The heavier weight also makes him less agile than his baseline HRD cousins. The increased weight and bulk provides a barrier for the servos of the droid, meaning he is less agile. This is something a more agile opponent with a lightsabre or a lighter weapon could use this to their advantage to avoid or outmanoeuvre him. Especially since he has a preference for heavy weapons. Moreover, the added bulk makes certain types of terrain, such as muddy areas or swamps, extremely difficult to traverse. It also means he cannot swim. As a machine, he is vulnerable to electrical discharges, ion and EMPs. Naturally this also extends to Force powers like Force Lightning and Disable Droid. His ion buffers are only effective against small arms or glancing shots. While he often wears armour with some form of protection, powerful blasts can still damage him.

The eyes remain a weak spot, as naturally these cannot be protected by Phrik, even if there are plates behind the eyes. Thus it is possible to blind or disorientate him by targeting these areas. Since metal is used in his construction, he is vulnerable to magnetism. Despite the power of his skeleton, heavy weapons, high-calibre projectiles, explosions and so on can still damage him. Significant concussive force can cause damage to internal components, decreasing his combat efficacy and making him more vulnerable. Gunther has experience fighting Force-users, but does not understand the Force. It is something he can only observe the effects of, and cannot quantify. Against Force users he is sometimes unable to assess potential dangers.

Strengths:

  • Gunther is an HRD and thus possesses incredible strength and resilience. He can dish out with brute force and lift heavy objects in excess of his body weight. As he feels no pain, he can use his body as a weapon or smash through barriers. He can also take a lot of damage and feels no pain. He has a Phrik endoskeleton, which enables him to resist lightsabre attacks even without armour.
  • Expert combatant and skilled tactician. Gunther has a logical mind and is focused on the mission alone. His sophisticated programming and the past experiences of his human self make him a capable battlefield commander.
  • Experienced in combating Force-Users.
Weaknesses:
  • While the skeleton is more resistant to damage, his organic overlay is vulnerable. In an infiltration situation, damage to it will easily break his cover, as it will expose the metal beneath his synthskin. Likewise, high-grade scans could notice something is off. That aside, although his ability to simulate organic mannerism and emotions is potent, he will feel 'odd' around Force-Users, especially empaths and mentalists.
  • He is a machines and thus vulnerable to ion and EMPs. His ion buffers are only effective against small arms or glancing shots. He wears armour, so a standard EMP grenade will not destroy or deactivate him, but heavier ordnance is a threat.
  • The bulk and weight of his body imposes restrictions on his agility. This is something an opponent might be able to exploit.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Gunther Stahl was once a skilled soldier of the first, post-Gulag Virus Sith Empire. He came from a family with a proud military tradition. His father was a landowner on Dromund Kaas. Gunther distinguished himself in the early days of the Triumvirate. Gunther supported Moridin's coup and fought at Junction and Concord Dawn. Later he served at Ossus and Dac. Decorated several times, he became an officer and was ultimately assigned to assault G99 at Roche. There he led a platoon against Republic and Omega Pyre soldiers. The close quarters fighting was vicious. Though outnumbered, the enemy displayed great skill and tenacity. The enclosed quarters worked in their favour, as it allowed the Pyre mercenaries to use their bolters as force multipliers.

Gunther was seriously injured by an Omega Pyre bolter, but was able to dazzle his opponent with a flashbang. He took great pleasure in cutting the soldier's throat with a vibroblade. However, when Sith stormtroopers stomed the hangar that being held by a beleaguered, outnumbered force of Republic and OP soldiers, Colonel Siobhan Kerrigan brought down the roof. Preventing tactical data from falling into Sith hands seemed worth the sacrifice to her. Gunther happened to be one of the Sith soldiers who had the misfortune of being inside the hangar. Unlike many of them, he survived. His superiors were nice enough to give him an artificial leg, eye and a medal.

After his recuperation, Gunther participated in the subjugation of Aeten II and the invasion of Mandalore. Sadly, the attack on the Mandalorian homeworld ended in defeat for the Sith Empire. Gunther had been a fan of Moridin and Desmius, so over the years he grew increasingly dissastified with the internal politics of the Sith Empire, which were defined by repeated coups. This was frustrating to him because he wanted the Empire to focus on more important matters: Exterminating the Jedi, enslaving aliens, subjugating worlds and giving the Galaxy the soul-crushing, totalitarian order it deserved - and really needed at the moment!

Gunther's unit was deployed to Metalorn to counter the Republic invasion. There they were able to ambush and kill Republic Jedi, using gas, heavy weapons and hard sound guns to take them out. This battle was a victory for the Empire. However, much to Gunther's disappointment, the Republic and the Empire signed a peace treaty. This led to a rather strange situation, with both sides declaring peace for our time. This did not stop the Empire from invading Mandalorian Yaga Minor after another regime change. Among other things, Gunther fought zombies summoned by a Mandalorian Witch. He also faced Moira Skaldi, Omega Protectorate intelligence agent - and his future employer. He gave the HRD a good fight, even after getting his arm broken.

While Gunther was recovering, the Empire underwent another regime change. The new administration launched an attack on Togoria in order to enslave the Togorians and work them to death. Gunter participated in the operation, fighting Togorians as well as soldiers from the Army of Light, which tried to save the natives from their grim fate. Gunther obeyed his orders, but found the assignment distasteful. He was a human supremacist, and was used to aliens being subservient to humans, but regarded playing guard in a slaving operation as beneath him. Moreover, Togorians, while obviously beneath humans, were strong warriors and in his view above 'shifty' Rodians or 'decadent' Twi'leks. They would make better auxiliaries than labour slaves.

When the Republic launched a crusade against the Empire, Gunther was in high spirits because it meant there would finally be a great war. By now he'd risen to the rank of Major. However, the war was a disaster for the Empire. Gunther was on Manaan, where he narrowly avoided drowning when a Republic affiliate sunk a good portion of Ahto City, and fought at Dac. As the Empire suffered defeat after defeat, morale collapsed. After learning that Dromund Kaas had been destroyed by the Mandalorians, Gunther deserted along with most of his comrades.

For a while, he served a Sith warlord, before founding a mercenary company. Selling his services to the highest bidder, he eventually attracted the interest of Archangel. The company's secretive leaders hired him to help train their HRDs in military tactics. The job was lucrative so he accepted. They were so pleased with his work that they decided they did not want to let him go. So he was sedated, restrained and 'upgraded'. This upgrade involved processing him so that he could serve Archangel in robotic form. When Gunther awoke as a Human Replica Droid, he was completely obedient to Archangel. He retained his memories and skill as a soldier, but now thought like a droid. He was also a lot stronger, more durable and free of organic weaknesses.

He served Archangel for many years. His combat prowess and command skills were a significant asset for the genocidal droids and he performed many missions, often leading units of battle droids and HRDs into combat. His contacts among mercenaries and criminals were also useful for the corporation. His missions brought him to places as diverse as Contruum, Kaeshana, Thakwaa and Eriadu. Eventually, he was upgraded by having his mind transferred into a Phrik body. However, Archangel's reckoning was coming in form of two Force clones and an experiment gone awry. Gunther had met Enyo Typhos and Amara Zarides in the past, but had not interacted with them much. This changed in the aftermath of the Contingency's assault on Archangel's secret base. Going underground, Archangel prepared a retaliation. Gunther was put in command of the counteroffensive.

While he amassed forces, his recon units were able to locate the insurgents' asteroid base, utilising humint and signint resources. It helped that Enyo had made her share of enemies in the underworld. Some of her subordinates were bothered by her fixation on her crusade against Archangel. Others (rightly) feared that she would purge them once she got what she wanted. Moreover, Archangel had succeeded in persuading some remnants of the Contingency to join their cause since Enyo had betrayed them at Tartarus. The machines launched a devastating attack. While they suffered significant casualties, they destroyed the insurgents' base and forced them to flee.

It all came down to the rebels gambling and launching an all-out attack before Archangel could fortify its position and build even more machines. Cannily, Gunther used Siobhan Kerrigan's second clone, Caoimhe as bait during the fight. He rightly suspected that Enyo's desire to save her sibling would override her machine logic - and make her try to save Sinnead rather than kill her. The two clones fought and Gunther ambushed Enyo with a unit of droids when she was weakened, using heavy firepower. While Gunther did not possess Force powers, he had a Phrik skeleton like her and the damage Enyo's organic coverings had suffered impeded her ability to use the Force at full capacity. While Enyo decimated most of the droids, her body sustained severe damage and Gunther was able to maim her. However, as he was beating on her Caoimhe turned on Archangel and blasted him with Force Lightning. Though she was also damaged by the electrical blast, Enyo was able to rip out of his power core.

Thus Gunther died. He did not stay dead though. In the aftermath of Archangel's defeat and the rise of a new regime, Enyo and Amara had a parting of ways. Their separation was amicable, as both siblings still loved each other. They just had irreconciliable alignments since Amara was mostly Chaotic Good and Enyo was mostly Lawful Evil. Enyo needed reliable minions to help her run Archangel. Remembering her duel with Gunther, she found his 'intelligence' within Archangel's captured databanks and downloaded a copy of his mind into a new Myrmidon HRD body. It may seem a bit odd that Enyo chose her former attacker to become one of her chief lieutenants, but the Cyborg has a habit of repurposing defeated enemies into servitors. He got to put his skills to good use by helping Enyo purge her criminal syndicate of those considered unreliable or as having outlived their usefulness. It helped that Archangel's old administration had been in touch with some of them.
