As Carnifex was forming his Kainate, he appointed his most loyal cultists and their scions as officers that would comprise the upper hierarchy of his secret empire. They would be exalted above the other components of this military force, as the pilots and surface soldiers of the Kainate were entirely comprised of artificially grown humanoids known as strand-casts that were expendable and suicidally obedient.
To serve as a badge of their station, each officer of the Kainate was awarded a pair of specially made vibroswords of two different sizes. The larger was of a length of eighty centimeters while the smaller was only fifty centimeters in length. Both were single-edged with a straight blade and were built with advanced vibro-weapon technology such as an ultrasonic vibration generator and electro-plasma filament.
The composition of the sword's blade was durasteel with a cortosis-weave alloy and a mullinine edge. The cortosis-weave allowed the weapon to go toe-to-toe with the plasma blade of a lightsaber and was even capable of shorting out a lightsaber's blade on contact for a short period of time. The mullinine edge kept the blade sharp and durable, even after repeated and constant use.
Both of these vibroswords were worn by the officers of the Kainate, a clear sign of their rank and a source of pride. Cultist families often decorated their swords with family symbols, phrases, and opulent embellishment.
