  • BFG In The Palm Of Your Hand. This thing has insanely high damage output and stopping power for a blaster pistol.
  • HUD Ready. The computerized interface scope can link up with whatever HUD or cybernetic enhancement the user might be using.
  • Autosteady Gyro assists in aim, drift, and recoil management.
  • Hold-Out Grenade. When your back is to the wall, overload that power cell and get ready for the fireworks.

  • Criminal. The Hackjacker achieves its power through modification of the blaster's galven pattern that is illegal under Galactic Alliance weapons law for a civilian-owned blaster pistol. You're not going to be walking through a spaceport on Corellia or Coruscant while openly carrying one of these.
  • Rate Of Fire. You're not going to be firing multiple shots in rapid succession with this weapon. Instead, there is a delay between each blaster round as the weapon preps the spin chamber and cycles the power for the next shot.
  • No Manual Scope. Due to its compact size, the weapon only featured a basic targeting laser, which was meant to feed target data to an external, third-party interface as part of the computerized interface scope. If one didn't have cybernetic eyes, a helmet HUD, or some other kind of wearable combat overlay then they wouldn't have the ability to make use of the digital scope.
  • Bomb In The Palm Of Your Hand. If that power cell is hit or breached, this whole hand cannon thing is going to go off.

The Hackjacker was an illegal blaster produced by SQUIB GAMES to generate funds and connections for the Denon-based terrorist organization known as Darkwire. While the weapon was also used by that organization's Shadowrunners, the clandestine nature of their rebellion against the Corporate Authorities of Denon and the Galactic Alliance ordinarily required more subtlety than carrying one of these might afford. Instead, they were often sold on the black market through the G'uotr Network and found some niche popularity among the Hutt Cartels and Corellian Exchange.

Despite its common size and mundane appearance, the Hackjacker had an augmented spin barrel that was fed by galven patterns that had been modified to provide a boost to the power output that violated several intergalactic weapons bans designed to prevent just such a blaster from falling into criminal hands. No blaster control laws ever stopped a Squib with his back against the wall though, and the Hackjacker supplied a source of income for Darkwire that came with some external connections outside of Denon. In some instances, this put Darkwire at odd with Corporate Security, but only to the extent that the organizations doing business with Darkwire weren't also doing business with CAD. For organizations such as the Corellian Exchange, the entry of Darkwire into the arms market through its Squib dealer put the group in competition with CAD's own illicit dealings. Perhaps for that reason, CAD was less-than-forthcoming to the Alliance regarding what it knew about the weapon or the group's activities so not to reveal their own.

The Hackjacker was sourced almost entirely from ship graveyards, particularly scrap yards such as on Altier. The frame and housing were made from materials recycled from discarded droids or even rusted hull plating. The Dallorian alloy was usually re-purposed from mining or prospecting equipment. Overall, it made the Hackjacker relatively cheap to produce. The only thing limiting its production was the scale of Darkwire's resources and the fact that only the Squib and a handful of others had the requisite skill to do the galven pattern modifications. The only component that presented a challenge to the group was the power cell, which was supplied through an arrangement with one of the Hutt Cartels.

Very cool sub! Please remove the SW reference from here, you cannot add RL references into the sub, just in the OOC area:
Rate Of Fire. This is the Star Wars equivalent to a single-action pistol. You're not going to be firing multiple shots in rapid succession with this weapon. Instead, there is a delay between each blaster round as the weapon preps the spin chamber and cycles the power for the next shot.
