[Biography]

Hadegar Stormsong is the patriarch of the Stormsong family. Hadegar is a brilliant engineer and architect, formerly a loving husband and now a cold father and a ruthless Tyrant. Hadegar was forced by his Father 'Logan Grimstar' to study weapons Engineering despite desiring a career as a civil architect. Hadegar is renowned for being the founder and current chairman of 'Stormsong Arms' a military contractor whose history lies in its' innovative, cheap and reliable energy weapons. Hadegar is aggressive and rules over the company that bears his family name and his family itself with an iron will and steely fist. Born centuries ago, he lived through the Grutter Norr Ryk's governance of Zorn. Hadegar founded 'Stormsong Arms' in about 600 ABY and focused its research, development and production on inexpensive emerging energy weapons. Hadegar, like all citizens of the Ryk, had been raised as a soldier and counted prominent members of the Norr Workers Union as fellow alumni, social relationships which he tapped into to secure manufacturing and sustainment contracts for his fledgling company, accelerating its growth.

Married in 815 ABY to 'Anneke Dawnsong', a senior security service officer, in 880 ABY, they had several children from their marriage. Anneke gave birth to their firstborn child, a daughter named 'Mareike' in 873 ABY, and two sons, 'Harre' in 874 ABY and 'Rein' in 875 ABY. Anneke Dawncrown died in 896 ABY after a large rock thrown during a demonstration struck her unprotected head during the 'Strife' and associated civil unrest against the Grutter Norr Ryk. Hadegar was devastated by the loss of his loving wife, and the grieving father became paranoid, cold and distant from his children yet perplexingly protective. Hadegar busied himself in growing Stormsong arms and diversified its product catalogue to include cutting-edge protective equipment, including powered armour.

In 899 ABY 'Mareike', Hadegar's eldest daughter, had a conversation with Hadegar where Mareike told Hadegar she would be volunteering for the Anaraukar to honour Anneke's sacrifice; this provoked Hadegar to fly into a wrathful rant when Mareike reminded her father it was not Hadegar's choice to make, Hadegar furiously backhanded Mareike with such force Mareike hurtled into a wall. Mareike split the skin of the back of her head on a sharp corner. At that moment, Hadegar saw in Mareike's determination and resolve a resemblance to Anneke and turned away in shame, retreating to his workshop, resolved that Mareike, Harre, Rein and Anneke would never forgive him.

Hadegar has buried his love for living things deep beneath the granite bedrock of his stoic appearance, though he silently sulks and mourns. Numbed by the loss of his wife, Hadegar tries to show he cares for his family the only way he knows how: building armour to protect them and forging weapons for them to wield in prosecuting the Commonwealth's weaponry. Hadegar uses his political influence to provide his children with issued military equipment that is of superior material and manufacturing quality when compared to their peers.

Obsessed with strategy and warfare, Hadegar is a prodigious architect and engineer with a fixation on military strategy and technology. Stolid, Hadegar struggles to understand emotions and views their uncontrolled expression as a sign of weakness. (strengths)
Brilliant: Equal parts ruthless and brilliant, Hadegar is sharp as the edge of a razor and appears to have an intuitive ability to comprehend any subject placed down before his eyes.

Norr Gigantism: Hadegar is 'massive' even among his own people, about a head taller than the average 'Norrmen'. His limbs and torso are covered in dense cables of thick musculature honed from decades of meticulous militant exercise and dietary discipline.

Short-Tempered: Hadegar does not suffer fools, slights, or misadventures easily in interpersonal interactions. He can lose control of his impulses, which could see him do anything from losing the initiative in negotiation to violating the law or accepted customs when he falls to impulsive acts of violence.
