Hail to the Commissioner

Location: The Old Senate Building, Salis D'aar, Bakura
Objective: David Pack officially becoming Commissioner of Salis D'aar
Time: Noon
From the front door, came an old man that was surrounded by First Order guards. They were in the old senate building that would be soon replaced as the living quarters and workplace of the new commissioner. The old man was David Pack, an experienced leader, and politician that was selected to be Salis D'aar's commissioner. They reached the former senate chambers where the commissioner and his advisers would meet daily to report, and to create new laws and policies. David reached the front of the room and sat in the chair that was higher then any chair in the chamber. After a few minutes, the advisers started to file in, and take their seats.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Please take your seats, and we may begin."

David waited for the rest advisers to take a seat. When everybody settled down, and began to be quiet, David stood up from his chair.

"Welcome everyone. As you might know, I am David Pack, the new commissioner of Salis D'aar. I know some of you are natives to this planet, and some of you are natural born First Order citizens. But now... This city is under First Order control, and it will follow it's laws."

There was some mumbling in the crowd of advisers. Some of the natives did not agree with the new leadership change, but accepted to be an adviser to represent their own people in this government.

"As your new commissioner, I plan to enforce those laws. However, I am fair, and the humans of Salis D'aar will have a voice in this government. That is why you all are here"

He paused to look at all the advisers.

"Hopefully, more powerful First Order leaders will be arriving soon. They would like to see the progress that we have made from complete anarchy, to government."

He paused again to look at his notes in the table in front of him.

"Now let's begin our first order of business..."

skin, bone, and arrogance
Natasi Fortan had a special connection to Bakura, through her mother, Reima Esperell. Reima had been the heiress to the famed Esperell namata fortune, a fortune which had helped to shore up the Herevan Estate following a few years of disastrous crops. The funds had saved Herevan, and saved Reima's husband Frejrik Fortan, the Earl, from personal and public ruin. Reima had brought with her some of the customs of Bakura, including the practice of the Cosmic Balance, which she had passed on to her children -- Natasi and her late brother Mathes. Outside of Bakura, Dosuun was the largest enclave of followers of the Balance -- Equilibriates, they called themselves -- thanks in large part to the Fortan connection.

In short, Bakura was close to Natasi's heart. When the Ssi-Ruuk had threatened the area, Natasi had prioritized the protection of Bakura and was pleased that it had escaped wanton destruction. Her grandparents had left her mother a townhouse in Salis D'aar as well as the Esperell Namata Orchards in the equatorial region, and as Reima's only surviving child, she was the only one left to inherit them. Natasi had never been there, but since the First Order now governed the world, it might be in the cards for her to visit more.

But today was business; the investiture of the new Commissioner of Salis D'aar. The man was an unknown, installed by the military government in the aftermath of the annexation, and Natasi was here to observe. She hoped that he would prove capable of the task; she didn't enjoy the hassle of firing people and having to scour the empire for another qualified candidate. She slipped into the back of the room on her hoverchair, sitting silently and watching the proceedings with great interest, her principal private secretary [member="Sioux Chambers"] standing alongside her.

David was in the middle of talking when the grand moff slipping into the chamber.

"Thank you Mr. Erat. Would anybody oppose the motion of increasing security of the lower levels of the city?"

David waited for someone to hold their hand up to to oppose this motion. While he was looking at the crowd, he saw [member="Natasi Fortan"] in the back. He was surprised, and was nervous. He cleared his throat and looked at his papers on the table in front of him. He wanted to make a good impression for the Grand Moff.

"I agree with Mr. Erat. Security should be a priority in the lower levels of the city. Once this meeting is over, I shall inform the peace officers."

He wrote his notes down on the piece of paper and placed it under the pile of other papers. He paused for a moment trying to think of what he was going to say next.

"I would like to pause this meeting momentarily, and introduce Grand Moff Natasi Fortan." He pointed towards the back. The advisers turned around and saw the grand moff in her chair with her secretary by her.

"Ma'am would you like to say a few words to the advisers?"
