- Temperature control system ensures that the nano-droids are kept in the perfect storage conditions at all times.
- Damaged nano-droids can be replaced by new deliveries courtesy of Nakaioma Fleet Systems personnel. (For additional fees.)
- Fast-Acting: With a reliable and well-tested response time, the Haniyama Nano Breach Repair System can guarantee its owners that any damage to their ship will be repaired quickly and efficiently. In dangerous situations where they are required, every second counts and it is with this pivotal knowledge in mind that the Haniyama has been designed.
- Programmable: The central command unit of the Haniyama, located on the device itself maintains a user interface, allowing skilled tech experts to write code for their nanobots. Theoretically this could enable their Haniyama to repair virtually anything on-board with the right amount of code written. It also allows users to install commands for prioritisation protocols, meaning that if there are multiple breaches in their vessel that their nano-droids know which part of the ship should be repaired first and last.
- Durable: Retaining the same resistance as durasteel when they link up and harden, the Haniyama's nano-droids can and will act as durable as the owner's regular ship armor would, capable of taking direct turbolaser strikes from a distance. Though repeated use will gradually wear down and degrade the nano-droids, Nakaioma Fleet Systems recommends annual replacement to prevent any failures.
WEAKNESSES
- Limited Supply: Though the option is always available to purchase multiple Haniyamas for a single starship, the issue of supply still exists regardless. If a ship sustains enough damage, it will eventually run out of nano-droids to cover up the holes or reconnect the damaged systems. Users can prioritise areas of the ship for the nanobots to be dispatched to if this occurs, but with severe damages there will always be the issue of running out nevertheless.
- Vulnerable: A somewhat obvious issue to consider would be the idea of the Haniyama itself being destroyed during a crash or enemy engagement. If the storage device is destroyed in either of these scenarios, the nano-droids will be lost as well, as they require the central processing and command unit of the Haniyama in-order to function, they cannot function independently. It is recommended that owners secure their Haniyamas in well-protected parts of their ship.
The Haniyama Breach Repair Module is the name for a large device that enables starships to conduct automatic self-repair processes in the event that they are damaged. Physically taking the shape of a large metallic storage container, this container is a mechanically intrinsic, being littered with temperature control modules in-order to ensure that the countless trillions of nano-droids within remain in peak condition at all times, so that they can effectively be used once deployed. Digitally connected to the starship's network, any damage detected will trigger the Haniyama immediately and via a number of advanced sensors spread throughout the ship during the Haniyama's installation process, will determine the scale and specifics of the ship's damage, allowing it to dispatch a specific number of nano-droids to maximise efficient use of all of them while giving accurate commands to the swarm that is deployed.
Travelling through a series of tubing, all connected to ports located in every one of the starship's rooms and hallways, the nano-droids upon locating the damage will enact their given commands and spread themselves across the damaged area, linking up with one another and then solidifying themselves as a strong material such as durasteel, while the droids along the outer edges of the selected area will transform into sealing material to ensure that it sticks. Once the starship has landed or is otherwise in a safe position to make its own permanent repairs, the nano-droids can be manually instructed by the owner to revert to their normal state and return to the storage device. One of the earlier projects to begin development during the Nakaioma parent corporation's overall experimentation with nanotechnology begun, the Haniyama has since found markets with both civilians and military applications.
Advertised as the ultimate life-saving technology in the cold depths of space, the corporation has always been quick to remind potential customers that the Haniyama is not intended to be a permanent replacement for damaged ship armor or other components, as to prevent any kind of criticism or future lawsuit. It is designed to be a fast and temporary patch-up and means of protection to get a ship to its next location in the event of it being damaged.
