Mando'ade Warrior
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Valerian Calore - Alor
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Haran'verd were formed by Valerian Calore as a way to make full use of the oft underused drop pods that come equipped on the pair of Ha'rangir Star Destroyers within the Calore fleet. He envisioned their role as special forces to be similar to the Bes'aran, but to serve a different purpose: as heavy shock infantry, the Hellfighters are meant to be the vanguard of whatever ground assault they find themselves in, using their drop pods to rocket into the battlefield and make way for the main assault, and lead the push afterward. If not utilized as forward assault troops, then select squads will often be send behind enemy lines to perform sabotage, assassination, or other forms of covert operations.
Their training is harsher than that of the other warriors, they're forced to endure three months of physical conditioning, forced to run across all manner of simulated environments, forced to crawl for miles through barbed wire, rubble, and through live fire simulations. The bodies of recruits are pushed to their limits, and those who cannot meet the expectations set are removed from training, and sent back to the regular forces. After physical training, the recruits are put through two months of squad tactics training, where they are forced to relearn the way they work together on the battlefield, from warriors to soldiers, and taught to accept a formal squad structure. Teamwork is the focus of this portion of training, where they're made to understand that the whole is greater than the one.
The final portion of training is tactical training; here they're put through another two months of tactical skill building, where they participate in wargames of increasing difficulty against their fellow recruits and then instructors and members of the Haran'verd. Also included is a practical course on advanced military tactics, where the numerous formations and maneuvers are drilled into the heads of the recruits, they're taught the value of operational independence, and how to function alone and separated. What comes out of the training is a highly trained and effective soldier, capable of being used in a great many roles, but to be inducted into the ranks of the Harna'verd is of course, optional; Valerian took only the willing, and continually discouraged the notion of impressing warriors into the force. Occasionally, invitations will be sent to talented warriors, but nothing more ever follows
The Haran'verd is a relatively new addition to the Clan's army, and though they're small, their numbers grow as they continue to prove themselves as the highly competent and capable soldiers they are.
