STRENGTHS
- Supercarrier: The Potentate-class was designed with one purpose in mind, to ferry a large mass of Imperial starfighters into battle. The entire bow of the ship had been converted into a series of hangar bays capable of fielding a total of twelve starfighter squadrons at any given time.
- Strong Shields: Though overall the defenses of the Potentate-class are moderate, it does possess uniquely strong shields around the bow and bridge; arguably its most vital areas.
- Bridge Tower: The arrogance of the Imperial mindset can be summarized by the glaringly obvious bridge tower jutting from the battlecruiser's superstructure, affording the bridge crew a clear view of the battle around it, but also leaving it open to direct attack.
- Rear Blind Spot: A staple of Imperial Star Destroyer design is the forward offensive mentality, meaning that the ship's rear is woefully unprotected by what weapons the Potentate does possess. Of course, this can be mitigated by placing smaller ships at the rear, but on its own, it has little to no means of warding off rear assaults.
With the advent of new territorial acquisition by the New Sith Empire, so too came the abundance of raw material, the capacity to build bigger, and the factories and dockyards to achieve that vision. From the depths of the Kol Huro system emerged two terrifying battlecruisers, the monstrously powerful Autarch-class Siege Battlecruiser, and the Potentate-class Carrier Battlecruiser.
The Potentate-class is a four-point-five kilometer-long carrier designed to ferry a large number of fighters, interceptors, and bombers into battle. To achieve this the entire midsection of the ship had been taken away and replaced with a series of hangar bays capable of holding such a colossal number of fighters. The standard ventral hangar has been repurposed to carry much larger ships, such as transports and even corvettes, as most of the fighter racks had been moved to the hangars at the center of the vessel.
However, due to all the increased hangar space, the battlecruiser's offensive weaponry had been toned down significantly, requiring the inclusion of escorts in battle.
