STRENGTHS
  • Long-Range: The hyperdrive equipped with the Hari’d-class allows it to perform above standard in various roles that the fighter plays. It is able to patrol systems and hyperlanes more effectively and has a faster response time to threats or incursion without the need of a carrier ship, which also allows it to be stationed in places too small that would be able to adequately support an entire fleet. It’s hyperdrive also allows it to perform adequately as a scouting ship, since a single fighter is much harder to detect -- and logistically much easier to deploy -- than a carrier. It also has a fuel tank and hypermatter reactor that consume fewer resources, meaning that it can be away active on a mission for longer distances and periods of time.
  • Silent Running: As a patrol and scout fighter, the Hari’d-class benefits both from the inclusion of a sensor scrambler and a stealth shroud. The former is useful in situations where multiple fighters are converging on a single target; the scrambler makes it seem that there are more fighters than however many there actually are, which can be confusing for enemy scanners and weapon systems. The latter is more useful when a starfighter is trying to be stealthy; it silences virtually any sort of emission or sensor that could detect the ship other than visual detection, allowing the fighter to scout new territory unnoticed or sneak up on unsuspecting enemies.
  • Fold-Up Landing: To compensate for the large profile of the Hari’d, its wings are designed to fold when landing, taking up much less hangar space.
  • Multirole: The Hari’d class’s design allows it to have a high degree of versatility in its manner of deployment; it can perform adequately in combat with average offensive and high defensive capabilities and works well in a squadron or solo as a patrol craft. It makes for an effective patrol craft, long-range craft or scouting craft, and is all-around deserving of its multirole designation.
WEAKNESSES
  • Power Prioritization: The Hari’d is outfitted with a large number of tech that, if all running at maximum power at the same time, would overload the capacitors in the ship’s frame. Thus, only certain tech can be running at any given time -- this usually means that when the stealth shroud or advanced sensor systems are activated, the background power flowing to armament systems is shut off. This can put the Hari’d at a disadvantage if ambushed in that state.
  • Full Stealth: While the Hari’d has a stealth shroud that deals with sensor systems, it is not equipped with a cloaking device, meaning that it is still vulnerable to visual detection.
  • Large Profile: In flight, the Hari’d is a larger-than-average ship. This makes the fighter an easier target and also hampers its maneuverability and optimal speed in tight situations or debris-filled battlefields.
DESCRIPTION
In order for intragalctic trade to flourish, first must come safety and security. When a shipment is not guaranteed to arrive on time, if at all, prices rise, insurance rates sore, and slowly the cost of living so far from secured space becomes unbearable. Space without stability is a positive feedback loop that results only in destruction and isolation. It was the calamity that occurred in Wild Space in the vacuum left by the trading empire of Ra’Katha after the four-hundred-year darkness.

Now, as Ra’Katha seeks to incentivize trade and commerce in its region, they are aware that they must first secure the regions around Wild Space to make it profitable once more to conduct business. And so, powered by the industrial might and starshipwright know-how of Roble Manufacturing, the first combat fighter of Ra’Kathan association was born: the Hari’d-class Multirole Starfighter.

While most fighters and warships, in general, are created with grand naval engagements in mind, the Hari’d was conceived with a different role -- or rather, multiple of them. The Hari’d is meant to be the backbone small craft to patrol the lawless lanes of wild space, able to operate for long periods of time without refueling, able to transverse between systems without the need of a carrier, and able to engage pirate ships without the support of an offensive capital ship. The Hari’d is designed to be a true multirole starfighter, and in that it excels greatly.
