STANDARD FEATURES
- Power plant is several Atin Class Isotope-5A reactors, which gives this vessel all the necessary power across all power systems.
- Fire suppression systems across the entirety of the vessel allowing for fires to be handled safely and remotely, without risking naval crews.
- Luft Class Life Support Systems offers the best in class atmospheric management system for the vessel, making it able to support and house various species of all different kinds without needing to utilize environmental suits.
- Deimos Point Defense cannons are able to target and engage everything from enemy munitions and ordinance to star fighters and bombers. Cannons are also powerful enough that if you get within range in a smaller capital ship that these guns will do excellent work against an unshielded corvette or frigate. Wouldn't really use them for that though.
- Zeus Multiple Launch Missile System allows for missiles to be tied into the Eagle Eye Fire Control System and makes all of the warheads able to utilize Multi-Lock technology by programming in multiple signatures for the enemy vessel ranging from radar, infrared, visual, even EM signatures. This makes all of the missiles on the Hope almost immune to countermeasures forcing enemy vessels to either maneuver out of the way of the missiles or shoot them down. Also allows for the pre-programming of flight paths to allow for you to launch multiple missiles at various trajectories and flight paths to allow for a single salvo to engage the same target from multiple directions at the same time.
- Wind Talker Class Comm Array offers top of the line data sharing, communications, and networking options for this vessel and any other compatible vessels either built in the CIS or used by CIS forces.
- Phrik-B Armor Plating combined with FM-002 and FM-001 gives a good base of armor protection for the vessels. This combined with the Svalinn class energy shield offers extremely good and flexible protection against most threats. This allows for the ship to be able to take a lot of damage for a support vessel, allowing for the main line combat vessels to focus on the fighting while this ship focuses on not allowing anyone to leave.
- Main centerpiece of this ship is the Interdictor Gravity Well Generator. What makes this different from other vessels is the power supply unit for the reactor is an Atin Class Isotope-5A Reactor, allowing for unprecedented levels of power generation in this ship's size class. Where similar ships with the range projection had to be either larger, slower, or just direct all their power into the generator itself. This is where the ship's reactor comes in clutch as it is able to project this well out much further than any cruiser class vessel and still maintain all necessary systems for combat and movement. Need to maneuver without breaking the well? Not a problem. Need to return fire? Full send.
- Massive Gravity Well Projector: Ship's massive gravity well generator is second to none. It offers second to none in its size thanks to the power availability of the ship's power system, giving it the ability to control entire combat zones alone. Where other ships would need redundant reactors or vessels to cover the entire battlespace for a fleet battle, you need only a single Harpoon to lock an enemy fleet down.
- Fast support vessel: This ship is also able move with the rest of the fleet very easily. Being a fast and maneuverable vessel means that the fleet can stay together much easier, or even having this vessel move in with the vanguard while slower battleships catch up to the fight.
- Not a lot of guns: This ship isn't meant to be a frontline capital killer, it's a support vessel. While it can use its guns to defend itself, it can't take on actual frontline capital ships alone to smash them. This coupled with its fighter complement means that it will need an escort at all times to make it through a battle.
- Single generator: This ship also doesn't have much in the way of redundancies for its gravity well generator. Meaning that if the generator itself gets damaged, that means this ship won't be able to do its job.
One of the newest additions to the CAF's NavCom, the Harpoon is a purpose built vessel for a job in the fleet. Interdiction. This vessel is designed at its core to be a second line support vessel, used in conjunction with large fleets to do its job while the other ships do the fighting. For this reason it is more lightly armed than other ships of line in its class, but is still very well protected and fast. Simply put, when it comes to interdictors, this vessel smashes it out of the park. A good support vessel and very easy to put into a fleet to integrate and work with. And unlike other vessels, where you might need to grab multiple ships to do the job, when you get one of these, one's all you need.
