The Hata, or often described as the Hata Clan, is one of the fundamental species group within the Inari Shogunate. Following the laws, cultures, and traditions of the Inari Shogunate, the Hata have a highly stratified society which is based on honor and merit.
Technology level:
The Hata have advanced technologies that are comparable to most current galactic civilizations, equivalent to the technologies of the Old Republic-era. Despite having extremely sophisticated vessels of locomotion, the Hata have not developed a hyperspace technology. A logical explanation for this would simply be the lack of necessity for the Hata to develop hyperspace technology, or, if following the theories of the Inari Shogunate that the ancestral Ssi-ruuvi had colonized Jigoku, hyperspace technology was lost and never redeveloped by the Hata.

It has been thought that the Hata are a distant relative to the Ssi-ruuvi due to their similar physiological characteristics, although scientists have identified the presence of mammalian-like genetic material in their genomes. This suggests that the ancestors of the Ssi-ruuvi and the Hata diverged at some point and allowed for the further evolution of the Hata over the Ssi-ruuvi. However, akin the Ssi-ruuvi, the homeworld of the Hata, Jigoku, is in the far northern Unknown Regions and extremely remote to other places of civilization. Scientists of the Inari Shogunate believe that an ancestral population of Ssi-ruuvi traveled far away from the Star Cluster and independently colonized the planet of Jigoku.

- Forked Scent-Tongues: Common to reptilian organisms, this sensory organ allows for a highly developed olfactory perception and chemoreceptors for detecting and identifying chemicals in the atmosphere and air. This makes them particularly adept with detecting gaseous chemical agents in combat situations. The heightened sense of smell allowed them to track and identify their targets, as well as allow the Hata detect their emotional states.
- Triple Eyelids: The Hata possess three eyelids: a primary eyelid that closes and opens the eye, secondary eyelid that protect the eye underwater, and finally, a tertiary eyelid or nictitating membrane, which distributes the lubricating and cleaning fluids of the lachrymal ducts.
- Scaled Epidermis: A plate-like layer of tough keratin scales that is able to withstand blaster shots and a secondary layer of highly capillary-rich epidermis.
