Hawt and Cold

Laura loved being at Nar Shadaa at night, especially near the edge of the city, where the night sky was barely able to be seen only a few celestial bodies being able to shine through once a year. The sheer beauty of it moved Laura as she got up and headed back into the main city. Nar Shadaa was a place someone went to get to get lost well, and Laura wanted to get lost more than anything. She made her way out of a cantina some time later a bit drunk and a drink in her hand, as well as the feeling that a good night was in store for her.

This was bad. Very, VERY bad. What had she done?? Aerin sprinted down the street, using the Force to propel her. How could she have been so careless?? She knew the Jen would come out if she got anywhere near a crowd. She'd been struggling horribly ever since her boyfriend Nickolas had left. Where was he? Why wasn't he here? She couldn't handle Jen without someone's help. That much was more than clear with what had just happened. Jen had come out, and killed several people in plain sight. If Aerin hadn't jolted herself and forced her way back into control, the entire crowd would've died! As she continued running, she passed someone. Just for a moment, her scared blue-green eyes met theirs. But it was only for a second, as Aerin didn't stop moving.

Laura was still sipping her drink as a woman sped right by her, their eyes only met for a moment but even then Laura could tell the woman was terrified by something. Laura threw her drink down and pulled out her goggles, wrapping them around her eyes to block out any of the blinding city lights and she tagged the woman to track her and began to chase after her. Laura was fast, but this woman seemed to have something pushing her forward, so Laura needed her attention or to catch up to her. "Wait miss, what's th' matter." Was the last thing Laura said before bolting off.

Aerin didn't stop. She kept going. She had to get out of the area. Everyone back there saw her! She had to hide before they could find her. She darted down one alley after the next in an endless zig-zag routine. Finally, her legs couldn't take any more. She ran into a dead-end and collapsed to her hands and knees, breathing hard. A few choked sobs came up in between breaths. Such an IDIOT! Jen chuckled in her mind.

"Oh, was somebody a bad little Jedi?"

"Feth you!"

The woman was too fast and had somehow managed to lose Laura in the busy districts of Nar Shadaa, but Laura didn't give up easily so she kept searching for the woman. Laura checked every nook and cranny of the nearby area and was beginning to become a bit worried about the girl that she had seen running away from her. Laura remembered the stress in her eyes as that woman had ran seemingly for her life. Then she heard a noise, and began down an alley to it's source. There she saw the girl kneeling on the floor as Laura slowly approached the girl.

The argument continued. Jen's voice now came out of Aerin's mouth alongside her own. There were two people talking, but only one person there.

"Ooo, so much anger. Isn't that the Jedi's number one no-no?"

"Why do you have to do this? Why do you have to make my life a living Hell??"

"Well, let me think about that. Maybe it's because I'm trapped in the mind of an adolescent naive little girl who doesn't know the difference between love and lust!"

"Don't pull that crap with me! You drove Nickolas away! He loved me!"

"Yes yes, he loved you! That's why he left you, isn't it? Because he loved you so much that he couldn't stand to be near you?"

"You were jealous!"

"But then again, how could anyone love you? You're always sticking your nose in places in shouldn't be. Always too stupid to think before you act. Too stubborn, too innocent! He was too mature for you. I wouldn't be surprised if there was another woman."

"SHUT UP!! You're lying! You're ALWAYS LYING!!"

"Oh, if only I were this time, love. But the only reason you're yelling is because deep down, you know that I'm right. You're pathetic. Useless. All you ever did was get in his way. And now, here you are, alone and sniveling in a dingy alleyway, too childish and weak to move on."

Aerin grasped the sides of her head, her forehead touching the ground. She sobbed deeply, screaming at Jen.

As Laura approached the woman she saw that she wasn't only talking to herself, she was screaming at herself. Laura could tell that the girl had some inner demons because one of the voices was clearly reflecting her dark side. Jedi, that's how she manage to outrun me. Laura slowly approached the woman pleading with her to calm down. "I'm coming near you now love, okay? I just want to help." As soon as Laura got close enough to her, she put her hand on the woman's shoulder to try to show her friendliness. "Don't worry I won't hurt you." Laura tried to speak in a soothing voice to calm down the girl.

Aerin tensed when someone came up from behind and touched her shoulder. She yelped, flipping over and scooting quickly backward until her back was against the wall. She held up a trembling hand as she continued to cry. "P-please! D-don't come any closer!" She said pitifully, begging the woman. More than enough people had died today. She couldn't take another person's blood on her hands.

Laura slowly stood up and gave the girl a puzzled look, obviously she was scared by something, terrified even. Laura slowly approached the woman with her hands extended to her sides, she didn't make any sudden movements lest the woman do something sudden. Laura was still confused on what the problem was, but this girl still needed help. "Don't worry, I'm here to help you."

"N-no, please! I-I can't-" Aerin tried to tell the woman to stay away, but it was too late. A horrible pain came into her mind. A telltale sign that Jen was coming out again. She screamed loudly, grasping the sides of her head again. Her eyes closed as she screamed again, her head now tilting downward so that her coppery-brown hair covered her face.

Laura was horribly worried when the girl appeared to go limp against the wall, her long brown hair falling against her face. Laura quickly ran over to the girl, afraid that she might've blacked out or fainted somehow. As Laura ran to her, she knelt next to the girl and put a hand on her shoulder and tried to wake her up. "Are you still with me, love?" The Laura put her hand under the girl's chin to check her heartbeat,

There was silence from Aerin for a few moments. And then, the quietest sound began coming from her. It started out very soft, and then gradually got louder. It seemed like crying at first, but then it changed. It was... laughter. She was laughing at the woman, her hair still concealing her face. However, her voice was that of a different person. Suddenly, her head tipped up again, her hair parting to reveal two glowing red eyes. Jen sneered at the woman. "Oh how sweet! It's so nice to have someone go out of their way to help you. Such a pity you didn't listen to Aerin, though. I'm not as merciful as she is." As Jen spoke, she rose to her feet and grabbed the woman with the Force, lifting her a few feet off of the ground.

Laura worriedness became chilling when the laughter began to come from the girl, it was never a good sign when someone began laughing uncontrollably. As the girl lifted her head and revealed two burning red eyes, Laura chill turned into fear. She retracted in shock from the sudden change as she was lifted into the air by the girl. Her feet began to search the area beneath her for the ground, but she could not find it. It was at this time that Laura usually began bartering. "So then love, do you think you could ummmmm let me go" Laura gave a nervous smile to the girl, trying to seem friendly still.

Jen gave the woman an evil smirk. "Since you put it so nicely... No. I'm afraid not." She said in a mockingly sweet voice. She began walking slowly forward, the floating woman moving with her. "Hmmm, what to do, what to do. Planning a death is so complicated. So many possibilities to choose from! the options are endless!"

Laura began trying to squirm in order to get out of the force grip, but all her attempts were in vain. She couldn't move any of her limbs well enough to try and break free, or even grab her gun. Her situation was beginning to seem more and more desperate with every second. "Ummm I'd prefer not to die. Tell you what, if you let me go I'll do anything you want me to." Laura tried to seem weaker than she actually was, anything she could use she had to now.

Another laugh echoed through the alley. "Really? You'll do ANYTHING? Well, alright then. Scream..." Her grip would suddenly grow tighter and tighter, like a trash compactor crushing useless garbage. Jen's face contorted into a sickening smile. Oh, how she loved to see the pain she could cause.

Lara let out some heavy groans of pain, but she managed to keep herself from screaming. If she screamed this would just escalate to even worse territory. She kept trying to pander to her tormentor in order to get herself free from this painful retching and contortions. "There must be something else you want aside from killing me. Do you want credits, maybe a ride off planet." It was when she was pleading that Laura noticed the blood pouring from the corner of her mouth.

Jen could hear the pain behind the woman's labored words. This only made her smile wider. "Obviously you didn't hear me correctly. I said, SCREAM..." Ever tighter did she squeeze the poor woman in the air. Any harder, and bones would begin to break.

Laura couldn't hold out any longer, she felt her body compressing and her bones beginning to splinter. She let out a high-pitched scream before the woman killed her, any hopes she had of taking control were gone with that scream. "Please stop... I'll do anything." She let that out as her final words rasping through her damaged lungs, she had already failed to negotiate so now she had to beg.

The scream was what brought Aerin out again. she blinked several times, her eyes returning to their original blue-green hue. She gasped, setting the woman down on the ground. "I....I'm so...." Her voice cracked. No no, she did it again! But the woman was alive, at least. She was about to go over and try to heal her, but she hesitated. This woman didn't understand what Aerin was. If she approached, she'd only make the woman even more scared than she already was. "I...I..."
