HISTORY
Hayrdin Barros was born into a nomadic Ubese clan on the fringes of Wild Space, where survival demanded discipline, strength, and loyalty to tradition. Trained as a navigator and warrior, Hayrdin excelled in his roles but harbored a rebellious streak that clashed with the clan's rigid hierarchy. His life took a pivotal turn when he discovered a derelict Nihil vessel, uncovering fragments of their technology and anarchistic philosophy. Fascinated by their daring and fierce nature, Hayrdin proposed adapting the Nihil's principles to better navigate the dangers of Wild Space. His ideas were met with hostility, and a subsequent act of defiance during a critical mission earned him exile. Stripped of his status and cast out into the lawless void, Hayrdin was left to survive on his own terms.
In exile, Hayrdin embraced the chaos he once admired in the Nihil, surviving through cunning and brutality. His expertise in hyperspace navigation and his willingness to exploit forgotten routes quickly earned him a reputation among the pirates and scavengers of Wild Space. It was this reputation that to him forming the Maelstrom, a rising pirate gang inspired by the Nihil's legacy.
As the so-called "Eye of the Maelstrom" , Hayrdin plays a crucial role in expanding the gang’s presence in Wild Space. Seeking fragments of Nihil technology and honing his own skills, he ventures out to bring terror and glory to the hyperspace lanes he and his crew antagonize. He can often be found in various shadowports across the Galaxy.
