- City Name: Hazaria
- Classification: Metropolitan Area
- Location: Anobis
- Affiliation:
- Independent (De Jure)
- Imperial Military Protectorate/New Imperial Order/The Empire (De Facto)
- Population: Moderate | Hazaria is a moderately populated city, the most populated in Anobis.
- Demographics: Hazaria has a Human majority population, with significant Iridonian Zabrak minority and smaller Chiss and Ubese population. Human in Hazaria are mainly of an indigenous Anobian culture. However, decades of Imperial occupation has brought influences from foreign cultures such as Yinchorri, Araxi, Novanian, and to a lesser extent, Galidraanian. While the provisional government of Hazaria and the Imperial law doesn't discriminate between species, xenophobia rose up naturally in form of significant social class gaps. Human are scattered throughout the social class, with the ones with foreign descent, known colloquially as Imperial Human, typically on the upper end, Chiss are almost exclusively high-class, Ubese are either lower-class or middle-class, and Zabrak are disproportionately lower-class or rural middle-class.
- Wealth: Medium | Hazaria is a self-sustainable metropolitan center, supported by the fishing, agricultural and mining industry around Hazaria Proper. However, the population level isn't able to support an advanced manufacturing economy, which limits the economical capacity of Hazaria. Moreover, portions of the city's income is used to fund Anobis Imperial Remnant operations, taking away from the city's development fund. Most of Hazaria inhabitants are afforded basic sustenance of at least a substandard quality, but the apparent inequality has proven to be a problem from time to time.
- Stability: Low | Hazaria is faced with a glaring social inequality and segregation problem. Years of Imperial occupation has lead to the rise of a de facto ruling class, consisted of mostly Imperial Humans and Chiss. The disparity grew even bigger after the De Jure Imperial rule has ended. Anobis Imperial Remnant rules the city indirectly, through government officials and bureaucrats, which are dominated by ex-Imperial civil servants, the de facto ruling class. This results in the alienation of 'native' Hazarian, local Human and Zabrak. Moreover, the notoriously xenophobic and violent Ubese immigrants have sculpted their own position in Hazarian society as merchants and criminals, to the 'native's' ires. However, the deep-rooted hate and propaganda that have been rooted in Hazaria since the early days of Imperial rule has successfully diverted the attention from the unjust Anobis Remnant rule. The 'native' Human majority despised the Chiss, claiming that they are the elite that corrupts Hazaria's society, the Ubese for being the Chiss' tools of oppression, and the Zabrak for being the deadweight of society that keeps pulling the 'native' Human down. While this means that the Anobis Remnant is able to continue their operation smoothly behind the shadow, the city is always one step away from a full-blown ethnic war, one that would be easily leveraged by galactic powers vying for control.
- Freedom & Oppression: On surface, Hazaria is a normal, relatively free city. Presenting itself as the capital of an independent system, the city has laws that protects freedom of thoughts, sentient rights, and equality. However, the Anobis Imperial Remnant does monitor civilian activities to ensure order, through a clandestine branch under the Judicial, which are filled with former COMPNOR and ISB agents. Suppression of thoughts and actions are still considered average and not out of the ordinary compared to other Imperial and Imperial remnant controlled cities/systems. Slavery is banned in Hazaria and Anobis, the fishing, agricultural, and mining industry are manned by free labors, albeit the mining industry specifically has a rampant workplace abuse and inhumane wages problem.
- Description: Hazaria is the capital and biggest metropolitan area of the Anobis system. A fiercely independent system right outside of the border of the Galactic Alliance, Anobis is practically controlled by Anobis Imperial Remnant, an Imperial remnant holdout lead by Imperial Knight turned warlord Argilac. A relatively sparse planet, Anobis is ruled from the bustling center of Hazaria, by a puppet ruling class consisted of mostly ex-Imperial civil servants, immigrated Humans and Chiss. The 'native' population, Anobian Human and Zabrak, are generally filling the blue-collar working class of the metropolitan area. The city also has a smaller Ubese diaspora, who mainly work at the port and government facilities in security role, or as merchants and criminals. Hazaria is a relatively livable city, where even the poorest citizens are afforded food and water, but the apparent social inequality is a constant source of instability. The Anobis Imperial Remnant hold a significant landmass on the north of Hazaria River, known as Hinterlands of Desh, where they centered their operations. The area is heavily guarded and is considered a restricted area.
HAZARIA PROPER
- Weirvier | Happus: Weirvier, known by the 'natives' as Happus, is the center of Hazarian government. Located right in the middle of Hazaria Central, there lies the Parliament Building (former Imperial Headquarter), Judicial Center, and National Museum. On the southeast -ide of the district is a high-class residential area, settled predominantly by Imperial Human and Chiss.
- Tern Haven | Paddem: On the northernmost region of Hazaria central is The Haven, an artificial island by Hazaria riverbank. There located the Port of Hazaria, the biggest maritime port of the system, the Haven Pier, the biggest amusement park and beach of the system, and Maggdu, the headquarter of Anobis' Bounty Hunter's Guild. The southwest-side of the district is a high-class residential area settled by rich 'native' Human and Ubese.
- Witterak | Jabbuk: Witterak is a district where the Grand Bazaar of Hazaria is located. Situated to the west of Weirvier, Witterak is considered the most 'hip' area of Hazaria Central, filled with mid to high-end leisure spots, shopping centers, and relatively younger demography, predominantly Human and Chiss.
- The Golden Triangle | Sabber: Located on the southeast of Weirver, The Golden Triangle is a financial district, made up of an agglomeration of three CBDs; Mega Ardikka, Homlaan Epicentrum, and GCBD. Anobis Stock Exchange is located in The Golden Triangle, along with various high-end restaurants and nightclubs. There is no residential area in this district, as The Golden Triangle is the second smallest district in Hazaria and was a part of a larger district together with Victory Road.
- Victory Road | Gattu: Victory Road is a district that was a part of the same, larger district as The Golden Triangle, and is the smallest district in Hazaria. It is located to the southeast of The Golden Triangle, bordering Hazaria Oost. Hazaria Metro Police Headquarter is located on this district, as well as a neighborhood of 'native' Human old-rich community.
- Oud Tuin | Tammsir: Oud Tuin is Hazaria main cultural district, being one of the area where many exchanges happened between 'native' Human, Imperial Human, and Chiss. This district has a distinctive architecture which combined local architectural style, called Ommah, and Imperial influences. Oud Tuin has a vibrant but classy residential area, various museums, and historical restaurants and café. It is the northernmost district of Hazaria East, bordering Victory Road.
- Hortenhaar | Pettang: Hortenhaar is the easternmost district of Hazaria East, where many of Hazaria school, university, and hospital are located. The district has slowly grown in prominence, many businesses relocating their offices here due to the rocketing price of rent in Hazaria Central.
- Chisstown | Cammbur: Chisstown is located between Weirvier, Victory Road, Old Town, Hortenhaar, Greater Anobisplein, and Galaardrop, is the fourth smallest district of Hazaria. Contrary to its namesake, Chisstown has a higher 'native' Human population compared to Chiss. However, the Chiss influence is very apparent here, with the small middle-class Chiss population residing here, owning small businesses, and there are many Chiss cultural buildings built by the diaspora.
- Greater Anobisplein | Sennsi: Another district that was split into two, Greater Anobisplein is a middle-class leisure district. Compared to Lesser Anobisplein, this district is home to more offices and governmental facility buildings. It also has the biggest park in Hazaria Proper, and is home to Hazaria Fire Department.
- Lesser Anobisplein | Pe'i: Another half of the former Anobisplein, this district has a larger and more diverse residential area. The district is almost exclusively filled with low-rise buildings. The district is considered as the suburb of Hazaria.
- Galaardrop | Kenndi: Galaardrop is a mercantile district of Hazaria West, located at the north and east of the region. The positioning of this district effectively shields Hazaria Centraal and Hazaria Oost from the more 'undesirable' districts of Hazaria West and Hazaria Nieuw-West. Galaardrop has the highest concentration of Ubese population in Hazaria, with 'native' Human still being the majority. The district does have a 'hip' and vibrant creative scene, as well as the city's largest criminal organization center of activity.
- Suikerlaan | Pendaggung: Suikerlaan is a industrial and manufacturing district of Hazaria. Traditionally, the district mainly produces sugar, cigars, and alcoholic beverages. However, there has been a shift of production to firearms and vehicle ever since NIO occupation of Hazaria. The district is populated by 'native' Human and a Zabrak minority.
- Schuurtuin | Tenggkak: Schuurtuin, the southernmost district of Hazaria West, was a fishing village before the land reclamation project was conducted to eventually establish Hazaria Nieuw-West. After the reclamation, the district turned into a greyfield, sparsely populated area with urban prairie and ruins. On the other hand, the creative scene has been rising in this district, while criminal aspects are still dominating the district's everyday life.
- Zabrakplaats | Tsonddet: Zabrakplaats, the northernmost district of Hazaria Nieuw-West, is a crime-ridden low-class leisure district. The area was first populated by Zabrak, before the reclamation project even started, and it was named Zabrakplaats to honor the first settlers of the area. The district retain a majority Zabrak population until this day. Zabrakplaats is the most densely populated district in Hazaria, even after the reclamation, and is also the poorest in Hazaria proper. Besides leisure, Zabrakplaats also has a sizable tinkering industry.
- Insulae Urch | Pentthu: Insulae Urch is an artificial island district, the third smallest district of Hazaria. It is the only Ubese majority district in Hazaria. The district is the main fish and marine products producer of Hazaria. Hazaria Lighthouse is located in this district.
- Nieuw-Wortan | Tsakkung: Nieuw-Wortan is a district that was formed after the reclamation project. It is located at the southernmost of Hazaria Nieuw-West, bordering Hazaria Zuid on its south. The district is utilized as a raw resources hub, with supplies coming from the agricultural and mining industry in the south. The district has an almost same amount of 'native' Human and Zabrak population, and along with Zabrakplaats are the districts most prone to ethnic tension.
HAZARIA NOORD
- Storm's End: The seat of Argilac, where everything from realm management, receiving Imperial guests, to family time is conducted. The fortress is located on the southeast of the region, on a mountain's riverbank.
- Anobis Imperial Remnant Spaceport: The spaceport for Anobis Imperial Remnant.
- Storm Commando Headquarter: A notorious Storm Commando headquarter, arguably producing the best of the best by 900 ABY. The rough biome of the Hinterlands forged these elite operators to perform on the highest level.
- Imperial Knight Academy: A small academy headed by Argilac and other Imperial Knights taking refuge in Anobis Imperial Remnant.
HAZARIA ZUID
SECURITY
High | Hazaria defense and security can be generally divided to three. The first one is the official army, police, intelligence, and fire department of Hazaria government. While all the departments are relatively underfunded, they are capable enough to fulfill their actual role, maintaining the existing status-quo and diverting attention from the Anobis Imperial Remnant. This sector is disproportionately occupied by Ubese immigrants.
The second one is Anobis Imperial Remnant. Anobis is home to the 703rd Stormtrooper Legion, 171st Sector Defense Corps, and small branches of Imperial Knight Chapters. The military forces are supported by following ground vehicles; TXT AT-MPT 01x, TXT AT-TD 01x All-Terrain Tank Destroyer, TXT AT-SAT 01x All-Terrain Scout Assault Transport, TXV XT-60B 'Cataphract' Class Repulstor MBT, TXT HMP-60x Missile Platform, and TXT XV-60a Armored Personnel Carrier. Anobis Imperial Remnant doesn't have an official COMPNOR nor ISB branch. Instead, a clandestine branch under Hazaria Judicial was established, manned with ex-COMPNOR and ISB agents loyal to Argilac.
Anobis Imperial Remnant naval capability can be considered unimpressive. The remnant holdout possesses 8 units of TXS Vandal-class Corvettes, 70 units of TIE/OTx Outlanders (four squadrons, six reserve units), 40 units of TIE/INx Interceptors (three squadrons, four reserve units), 20 units of TIE/HB Bruisers (two squadrons, four reserve units), 15 units of TIE/HF Slashers (one squadrons, three reserve units), 18 units of RDAGx Rapid Deployment Assault Gunships (two squadrons, two reserve units), and 18 units of TXS IPLT-01x 'Excursor' Star Sloops (six squadrons). Anobis Imperial Remnant field a military force that dwarfs Hazaria government official force, establishing effective control and protecting the system from foreign intervention.
The third one is the Bounty Hunter's Guild and criminal aspect of the city. Operating under the blessing of Anobis Imperial Remnant, the two are less of a security concern and more of a boogeyman for propaganda and Hazaria last line of defense. The Bounty Hunter's Guild provide Hazaria with a more reliable law enforcement compared to Hazaria Metro Police, often hired by businesses to resolve conflicts and catch petty criminals. The organized crime of Hazaria protects lower-class neighborhood and refrain from conducting violent crimes on public.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The location that would eventually develop to a metropolitan area has always been a populated settlement for centuries. Following the aftermath of the Gulag Plague, the area was re-settled by Human and Zabrak of the planet. It wouldn't take long before the settlement grow to be a city, and for the city to grow to be a proper metropolitan area. Surrounded by fertile and mineral-rich lands, Hazaria became a prosperous trade center of Anobis. The sparsely populated planet has been traded between galactic superpowers before, the latest being the New Imperial Order.
Following the collapse of the regime, Hazaria and Anobis are widely regarded as an independent system. However, an Imperial Knight turned warlord, Argilac, has effectively took control of the Imperial infrastructure of the planet, and subsequently maintain a tight grasp on the provisional government of Hazaria. While the government are given some level of autonomy, their foreign policy is dictated by the self-proclaimed Anobis Imperial Remnant; to present itself as a staunchly independent system, to limit entry and enter a semi-isolation state, and to only trade with Anobis Remnant's allies; Nirauan, Noris, Ord Mantell, Borosk, and Archais. Portions of the city's income is funneled to fund Anobis Remnant's activities, which includes Storm Commando and Imperial Knight training, fundings of separatist movements, terrorism, direct actions, and information warfare.
