Strengths:

  • Environmental Protection: The HE Suit is made primarily out of silicar which allows it to withstand all but the harshest of environmental hazards. It can withstand the effects of events such as acid rain, electrical storms, and space for extended periods of time lasting anywhere from 6-8 hours before feeling the effects of it.

  • Impact Resistance: The HE Suit is able to withstand the impact of falling debris such as rocks and metal components. The wearer only feels a fraction of the shock from the blows.
Weaknesses:

  • Combat: The HE Suit was not designed to handle the horrors of combat. Because of the silicar base, slug throwers and blasters are able to tear through the suit with little resistance. Vibroblades, arrows, etc are able to damage the suit easilly as well.

  • Repairs: The HE Suit uses a silicar lining that makes it incredibly hard to repair. While the silicar plates are able be switched out, the lining is unable to be. The entire cloth portion of the suit would need to be replaced in order for it to be able to continue providing protection from the elements.
[SIZE=14.6667px]Description:[/SIZE][SIZE=14.6667px] The HE Suit was designed to fill the lacking niche of a set of gear designed to allow explorers and laborers to operate on the more harsh environments of many of the more hazardous environments. Following this premise, the designers at RID created a suit that could meet these needs. The first step into this was looking into the materials that could meet the demands needed for such an outfit. Silicar was chosen for this purpose as well as the ease of access being another product created by RID.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=14.6667px]The design for the HE suit is simple. It starts off with a base of cloth that covers the entire body of the wearer minus the head. This cloth layer is then covered in a lining of silicar to protect from the elements, although offers no added protection from impact due to how thin the material must be to coat the cloth layer. The silicar lining is created thin enough to allow flexibility and linked in a form of scale pattern to allow flexibility without leaving any exposed gaps. After the lining as been added to the cloth, silicar is worked into plates shaped to fit the different areas. The silicar plates add further protection from the elements and the impact resistance. The suit was then worked to allow it to be vacuum sealed to add further protection to the wearer from the harsh conditions outside of it as well as allow use in space settings.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=14.6667px]The suit gains its protections because of the silicar used, but also is what causes its problems. Silicar is not designed to be able to handle the type of impact caused by most slugthrowers and blasters. The material is also extremely difficult to repair, being easier and cheaper to replace altogether. These problems pass over to the suit and make it both unable to handle combat as well as being so hard to fix when it becomes damaged.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=14.6667px]The designers decided to add a few features to the suit to give it more slice of life benefits to its wearer. The wrists were worked to allow attachments to be added to them to help provide options to the user. The belt was designed to easilly allow any form of belt or waist attachment to be added. A holoprojector was added on and designed so it easily could be moved from wrist to wrist so as to allow it to be on the primary wrist for anyone. It was also given wiring to allow it to hook up to an HE helmet so that the information from it could be displayed from the projector. The final touch was the addition of an air tank built into the suit that allowed for enough air to allow thirty to fourty five minutes of breathable air depending on the person. It was also designed to be able to fix onto most helmets to allow the air to flow into them, or could pull a special attachment around the collar off to attach it directly over the mouth and nose to allow being able to use the air tank without a helmet attached.[/SIZE]
