Healer Training, 101.

Rianna had received a request to teach a student. A student. How long since she had a student? Since Ian, perhaps, or another young girl whose name did not come to Rianna’s mine nor her writer’s at the moment.

That’s how long it had been. But. Rianna was not one to refuse to do something so, she arranged for her children to come with her and found a wonderful woman to stay with their children while she went to the Academy. [member="Ordo"] would be along in a day or two and take over, in the meantime Rianna formed force bonds with her children to know where they were, and to feel their distress.

After a heart twisting parting Rianna headed into the Academy and now stood within the gardens. Rianna always loved starting training in the gardens.

She looked at the name of the student [member="Vassara Raxis"] now she waited.

Having frequented the Academy from time to time Vassara was no stranger to the grounds there. She had requested a session of training under one of the more experienced folks here. Turns out her wish was granted. Force healing was certainly a useful skill. Riding the stars and the backwater spacelanes, when one got aught in a pinch, it could save the day.

Vassara had left her shotgun and combat belt at home today. No pistols upon her belt or weapons of war on her figure, save her lightsaber. The morning sun shone bright across the courtyard, casting short shadows from the stone statues of Jedi Masters past.

It wasn't long before she spotted her contact, Rianna. Her black boots pattered a steady beat against the stone walkways of the garden as she approached with a smile. Her ice blue eyes beamed out and Vassara extended her hand.

"Greetings Master Ar'Klim. Nice to make your aqquanitence."

Rianna sensing the approach and hearing her named turned her dark brown eyes onto [member="Vassara Raxis"] , “Hello Vassara it is my pleasure to meet you”

Rianna could tell from the way her aura glowed will brilliance that Vassara in tune with the force. The touch of the woman’s hand into her own, as Rianna curled her fingers around her hand shaking her hand, even here the force vibrated around them.

In the gardens where life was abundant the force was strong and would help with what the young knight wished to learn.

“I have been told you wish to learn healing skills, but not which skill. Is it yourself you wish to heal or others” One must know how to heal themselves and become strong with that in order to heal others. It took time to learn such skills, and it took practice.

[member="Rianna Ar'klim"]

Vassara smiled and nodded as she spoke. The force was very strong around her presence. In fact it pulsed through the Academy at a massive scale. Healing was a tricky business it seemed and Vassara really had no experience in it besides combat dressings and bacta patches.

Best to start with the fundamentals.

"I'll start with the basics first., and work up when I've mastered those. Anything you'd like to teach is welcome."

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

The basics, Rianna nodded, “We start with healing yourself.” Rianna moved slightly to her right classes for healing self were always interesting. Rianna needed to teach first about a focus point, and funneling, the healing force to a wound.

“Let us try an exercise with the force first, and through this exercise I can teach you the basic of self-healing” Rianna moved over towards the garden, “the force as you know is part of all living things, like many skills a Jedi possess they learn to touch the force, draw upon its energy, and then when healing the force will be focused into that wound first.” Rianna reached over and picked a flower.

“A flower has its own connection to the force. A path, pattern that it had. Study this flower, the force while the flower lives flows through it.” Rianna held out the flower.

“Can you see the force within this flower?”

[member="Rianna Ar'klim"]

Vassara had to admit, she was more skilled at seeing the patterns of molecules rather than the force. So many longs nights in her Craftshop had honed her skills for slamming molecules together and weaving the force in for her desired effect. This flower was not much different, just the angle of the view was different.

Reaching out she plucked the flower from Rianna's hands and closed her eyes, letting the currents of the force connect her and it. Centred now she began to break down the pattern, letting it expand in her minds eye, letting the energies of the force show her which molecules went where. Which cells were alive, and which were quickly dying...

She snapped her eyes open and nodded.

"Yes I certainly can see the pattern here."

Rianna nodded, "Good, healing is about seeing a pattern, about using the pattern, and force to close and seal a wound. You could set your own bones to mend, and in time even heal the bone itself. Now using what you see in the flower, turn that gaze upon your hand, and see the force, the patterns"

Rianna watched [member="Vassara Raxis"] she learned quickly usually those that had attained the rank of Knight learned much quickly as they already had control over the force.

Vassara should be able to see the midichlorians within herself.

[member="Rianna Ar'klim"]

Seeing midichlorians was a bit different. This time Vassara had to look more closely. As she plunged into the force her minds eye expanded again, searching for the common patterns among the cells.

It seemed flesh had a different pattern than simple cells of a flower. The molecules were different, the cells were different as well. More intricate and flowing. Vassara shifted through each pattern until she came to another one. Bone.

Bone had it's own intricacies built into it. But they both had common design running through them. Midichlorians could be felt, and as she learned the patterns she began to recognize the same one repeating over and over in both flesh and bone.

"Ok I see it now."

Rianna nodded, “good”

Rianna herself remembered healers training the excitement of learning, even now she sensed this discovery within [member="Vassara Raxis"] .

“Now take what you have learned from the flower, and now look into your own hand. Patterns similar to the flower, the layers, and the life within you should be able to see. Bones, Blood, are the ones I would like for you to concentrate on. Bones will appear thicker blood will have movement

Rianna stood beside Vassara she wanted to see what Vassara saw through her eyes to do this Rianna would use a sub power of Telepathy, called mind walking, a close relationship to dream walking. Skills which the Master Jedi had honed over years.

A deep breath, a calming of herself, the gentle touch upon the force, and to be sure she was in balance with all around her, and then she could open her eyes to see what Vassara saw.

[member="Rianna Ar'klim"]

The bones were a lot different. Harder with a more hexagonal structure to them. The molecules and cells were densely packed together, different sub patterns for different densities. Vassara could not believe she was actually seeing this. Using the Jal'shey techniques of Imbue to view things much smaller was one thing, but seeing the intricate details.

Amazing.

For a moment she was lost int he pattern, tracing every thread with her eyes, prodding and probing at it. The blood came second. Her attention shifted to her veins where the blood could literally be seen. It was closely tied with the midichlorian pattern, carrying a vast amoun tiny rivers and torrents throughout the body...

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

“yes the pattern is important” Rianna reached out with her hand to touch Vassara skin, “see how it reacts when I touch you, it’s the nerves sending the impulses.”

Now Rianna would use illusion to show her what an injury would look like, “when you are injured these patterns change” Rianna taking her forefinger drew a straight line across the back of Vassara’s hand.

The illusion of a cut, immediately the blood gathered and appeared to seep out.

“This is how a bleeding injury would look, see the distortion of the pattern you know to be healthy” Rianna was juggling different forms of mind trick. Rianna drew strength from the force, and pushed on to show Vassara the skill she needed.

She waited to be sure that Vassara saw what Rianna was projecting to her.

[member="Rianna Ar'klim"]

Yes she could see it now. Where there once was order and a normal flow, now there lied chaos. The blood cells were moving, flowing uncontrollably about. She could almost imagine what it would look like on the outside. A gushing wound most likely, blood flowing freely.

For a second more she examined the wound, looking around the edges, sensing the ruptured skin cells, the arteries and veins. Nothing involving bone which was good.

"I see it. How do we fix it?"

The majority of her medical training revolved around crude methods. Cauterizing with a lightsaber, injecting bacta, packing a wound with dirt in extreme cases. A lot of backwater world medicine, meant to keep you alive. Not meant to let you thrive.

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

Rianna smiled she could feel Vassara need to learn.

“Use your control of the force to close the wound, focus the force on making the pattern what it was” Healing was not easy, to some it was effortless to others they were fortunate to be able to seal their own wounds and make it from the battle field.

Rianna wanted to guide Vassara carefully, “the force is living, it heals only the living tissue, it can never revive what was dead.”

Back water medicine could still come in handy Vassara could use her new healing skill to supplement the bacta patches, or bleeding, or broken bones on herself.

Even though this was illusion it felt real. It would react as if she were healing the wound, the force would move in the way she directed giving her the ability to heal.
