- Force Touched: Created from organic material that was touched by the lightside of the force the crystal maintains that connection making it easier for the wearer to call on the force, while also boosting their healing abilities. For someone like Gianna who often would stay in a hospital until she had treated everyone she could, this would allow her to heal with less use of the force, allowing her to heal more people over a longer time than normal.
- Resistive: The hardness of the diamond allows the crystal to remain resistant to damage, providing capable resistance to energy types and an increased resistance to physical damage.
- Telekinesis: Created from flowers brought into being by Gianna in order to save her life the flowers held the Jedi in stasis while she recovered from the wounds sustained during her fight with the Bryn’adul Chieftain. This ability of the flowers to create a stasis field followed through to the crystals created of the organic matter, imbuing them with the ability to boost stasis and its building block telekenisis.
- Stasis: The Healer’s flux allows its user to utilise the specialised skill of Telekinesis, stasis, freezing people or objects in place, allowing the user to put their patients into stasis.
- Diamond’s are a girl’s best friend: The pressures and temperatures involved in the creation of the crystal turned it into a diamond, albeit one with a blue hue. The way it shines and catches the light, cut and polished it wouldn’t look out of place in a formal setting or a casual one. A diamond looks good on any occasion.
- Beacon: The passive aura of the crystal makes it impossible to hide, a beacon shining in the force for any who are capable of sensing it.
- Passive: The crystal boosts one’s abilities in the force, particularly telekinetic ones, but this is merely a passive effect, the crystal, by itself, carries no active abilities. It won’t teach you to heal or give you knowledge or capabilities that you don’t already have. It just makes things easier.
- Null Field: In the presence of a force nullification field the crystal’s abilities flee it, leaving it as nothing more than just a pretty rock.
Given enough time, enough heat and pressure any organic material can be converted into a diamond. It is a process that has been known about for some time, contributing to the surfeit of diamonds and other crystals in the galaxy. All it took was a source of pure carbon which could undergo treatment to turn the carbon into a diamond. The trick then was to find a source of carbon to use, hardly a problem considering that Carbon was one of the most plentiful materials in the universe...only that wasn’t enough for John. He didn’t want to create just any crystal, he wanted to create one that meant something to Gianna, pulling from her past from significant events that she’d lived through. To that end the man visited key points in the woman’s history, finding flowers there that had some connection to the force and Gianna.
In the hills of Nar Kreta John found what he was looking for, a delicate blue flower swaying in the breeze, slowly growing to fill the crater where a Bryn’adul cruiser had crashed, where Gianna had fought for her life against the leader of the savage horde. The flowers provided the perfect organic material for John to create the second crystal in his project, a blue diamond imbued with the ability to boost telekinesis and its daughter power stasis.
