A world that felt inherently peaceful by it's very nature, Voss felt, at least to her, to be the perfect place for Force Users to train. If only the Sith had spent their formative years here, perhaps the galaxy would be a very different place. True, there were occasional conflicts, but despite that, the Voss themselves were beings of contemplative calm and an inherent trust in the Force - at least, through the mediums of their Mystics, the beings that communicated with the Force on behalf of their people. It was humbling, calming and stunningly provocative, all within the same breath.
The Mystics themselves had developed a profound understanding of the Force that lacked the same regimented, trained and highly-conditioned nature of Jedi training. Their understanding comes from intuitive surrender to the will of the Force. Jedi spent their lives trying to achieve something that the ritualistic Voss learned almost instinctively, through their traditions and meditative natures. Though their healing methods are entirely different from our own, too. That alone had been a shocking revelation.
Shaking her head, as if to shake herself from the reverie that she knew she had delved into, her blonde curls bouncing softly around her shoulders, Teynara permitted herself a slight sigh. Even now, she couldn't help but feel like an amateur surrounded by Masters, a Padawan starting out on her journey, even though she wasn't considered such. There's always so much more to learn. The thought was part excitement, part resignation. But today's focus isn't on my learning, she added mentally, her lips curving slightly into an amused smile, perhaps a little self-deprecating. Trust me to sit here indulging in idle thoughts when there is work to do! Voss seemed to have that effect on everyone.
For reasons that still didn't quite fit into place, she'd agreed to offer lessons on Force Healing to the students of the Academy. I guess maybe the Masters thought I was being a little idle, meditating more than putting my skills to use. And thus she waited now, using the beauty of these sunken gardens as a place of brief convalescence, waiting for those eager minds to arrive and try to draw knowledge out of her and absorb it into themselves. Little like Voss Healing techniques, she thought with continuing amusement. Maybe they'd end up covering that, too, but she would wait and see how much this particular group would grasp.
