Aldhani, a sanctuary of peace in the vast galaxy, embraced Sarlow in its tranquil embrace. After bringing Lina to this haven following the tumultuous events on Yavin IV, he declared it her home as much as his own. Since her last visit, he found himself occupied with maintaining the serenity of this refuge. Tasks such as cleaning the house, preparing firewood, and venturing onto the waters for a swim or fishing kept him engaged. Here, far removed from the complexities of the galaxy's conflicts, Sarlow found solace.

His home, though seldom returned to before Lina entered his life, became a retreat from the schemes of warlords, Sith, and the self-righteous crusades of the Jedi. The landing pad not too far away allowed him to keep an eye on approaching visitors. Out on the back, sitting by the waters, Sarlow planted new annals for the changing seasons, the landscape a testament to the simplicity that Aldhani offered.

The dogs, Annwsi companions numbering four, found their own spots on the back deck—lounging on chairs, gnawing on bones, or resting on the deck itself. Sarlow surveyed the surroundings, appreciating the calm ambiance. Rising from the flower bed, he decided to wash up, heading toward the outdoor kitchen area. The rhythmic whispers of the wind through the trees, the symphony of crickets and grasshoppers, and the gentle flow of the river contributed to the evening's tranquility.

As he prepared for dinner, contemplating the exquisite pizzas of Ord Trasi, the outdoor lights illuminated the area. The Aldhani sun gracefully dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over Sarlow's secluded haven. The ambiance, enriched by the sounds of nature, created a symphony that resonated deeply with the Panathan Wolf.

Amid the serene surroundings of Aldhani, Sarlow found himself engaged in a simple yet satisfying task—making pizza dough. The tranquil atmosphere encouraged him to immerse himself in the culinary process while basking in the beauty of nature.

As the outdoor lights cast a soft glow, he set up a makeshift kitchen space, a mere extension of the peaceful retreat. The rhythmic sounds of kneading dough resonated with the whispers of the wind through the trees and the soothing melody of the river nearby. The dogs, his loyal Annwsi companions, observed with keen interest, adding a touch of companionship to the ambiance.

It dawned on Lina as she brought the shuttle in to land that she should have perhaps sent word ahead that she was coming. Despite Sarlow telling her this was her home now as much as it was his, she still felt unsettled. She tipped her head back against the pilots chair as the shuttles hum slowly died down. She was exhausted, both physically and emotionally and the next few hours were not likely to grant her any respite.

In the last few months, she had gone from content to exist in the shadows with Leilah, watching the galaxy from their quiet space station, selling information to the highest bidder, attending charity balls...it was simple. Now everything was complicated and messy, she was on a chessboard of ever shifting pieces. One wrong move could damn her future, a future she never thought she would build...

Lina was lost in her thought when the hounds moved from the porch to greet her as she approached the cabin, her hand scratching each of them behind the ears as they sniffed at her, tails wagging and she spoke softly to them as they flanked her up to the door. they put her at ease, drawing her out of the dark shadows of her mind. Her eyes lifted to settle on Sarlow, heart jumping as he met her gaze, drawing a small smile from her. She didn't say anything as she approached, simply tugging him away from the dough and coiling her arms about his waist, her head laying against his chest.

Sarlow noticed the shuttle approaching, its sound reaching him before it landed on the field. Continuing his work, he set aside dough for pies and treats. The dogs were the first to react, rushing towards the door. A smile played on his lips as he allowed his hands to work the dough. The rhythmic sounds of the hounds' claws against the wooden deck drew his attention away. His gaze met Lina's, and she pulled him away from the makeshift kitchen. Sarlow embraced her, and they lingered in each other's arms for a while before he made space for her.

At their home on Aldhani, Sarlow had made adjustments to ensure everything was accessible to Lina, who was much shorter than he was. Standing at a towering 8'2", he accommodated her 5'9" frame by lowering work areas. "How was your visit?" he inquired, smiling warmly. "I don't recall if you told me where you were going, but it doesn't matter. I trust you." The smile on his face grew as he gestured towards a nearby chair. After breaking the embrace, Sarlow leaned over, giving Lina a soft kiss before returning to clean up the area and allowing the dough to rest. "I also hope you're hungry. I've decided to make use of the brick oven there. Ord Trasi served great pizza a while back, and I was fortunate enough to learn their art before the New Imperial Order, or rather, the Empire, decimated their culture."

"I'm glad you're back home. I'll need your help to adjust much of the furniture here," he added warmly, his voice deep and smooth with a velvet touch at the end. The dogs padded around the deck, while the symphony of the forest and river around them continued to contribute to the homely ambiance.

Lina settled into the chair, her nerves returning as he spoke, moving about the kitchen. "Sarlow..." she said softly, though it was barely audible. She felt like someone was sitting on her chest, that if she didn't let everything out she might exploded. He was talking about pizza's and furniture and it was all utterly insignificant.

"Sarlow," she repeated, audible this time. "Stop, please. I need you to listen." She closed her eyes taking a deep breath, trying to let the quiet of the world ease her nerves. When she opened her eyes, she lifted them to meet his blue eyes. "I never, for one second, when you came to me on the Malsheem, thought that I could fall in love with anyone as much as I have fallen for you. When I am not with you, it is hard to breath. Its like you reached in and plucked my heart straight out of my chest to claim as yours." She blinked, tears escaping her, she wiped them away quickly.

"I went to see your father. To ask Him to remove my mark. I want to tell you that I did so because I am loyal to Him, but its not, its because I am so deeply terrified that I am becoming a part of His family, that my plans to kill Him are falling apart in my hands because I fell so hard for His son." She had not been able to tell him of her plans, her wants not while the mark was on, but now she could speak freely. "I wanted to take the opportunity before it was too late. But I couldn't..."

Lina told herself that it was because he still had Leilah, but she refused to give a voice to that lie.

"Sarlow, I am pregnant."

He hadn't heard her, or perhaps he did the first time she called his name. Sarlow had been engrossed in discussing pizza sauce and debating whether he needed to fell trees for furniture adjustments. Then she said his name louder, and his attention snapped toward her. He set down the pot he had been holding, washed his hands, and leaned against the counter with a towel in his hands, still looking over his shoulder as she spoke. Her normally fiery green eyes met his. After a deep breath, her confessions followed.

Sarlow listened intently, focusing on Lina. She professed her love for him, and the smile on his face lingered, reciprocating the sentiment. He needed Lina by his side, and it felt as if someone had adorned his heart with a string of lights. As she mentioned his father, the Panathan Wolf tilted his head slightly, trying to discern the direction of the conversation. She expressed fear about becoming part of the family and even harbored plans to kill his father. Sarlow's nostrils flared at the words, but he couldn't ignore the tears streaming down from her eyes.

His heart sank and nearly broke as she revealed her confessions and her love for him. The final revelation hit him hard—she was carrying his child. His brow furrowed, and he lowered his head, turning his ear toward her. Focusing on her words, he tapped into the Force, confirming what she had just told him for himself. Sarlow moved away from the counter, setting the towel down. Wordlessly, he walked toward her.

Sarlow first tucked his hand under her chin and leaned in for a slow, deliberate kiss. His hands came to rest along her hips, deepening the kiss, letting his love show through his touch. When their lips parted, he went down on bended knee and placed his ear to her abdomen.

Looking up at her, both knees on the ground, he said, "It pains me to hear that you would harm my father, that there possibly could've been a time where I was merely a stepping stone to him." Yet, despite this, "and yet it warms my heart to hear your confession that from your lips you tell me how you feel."

"Know that what I have said on Naboo still rings true, that my love for you knows no bounds, and while your confession will mean that we'll need to work harder," Sarlow rose slowly to his feet, a hand caressing Lina's cheek, "it is work that I am willing to do."

"As for our child, they will not be born a bastard," he declared firmly. Sarlow walked away and headed into the house, but his absence was brief. He returned to the deck with a small box in his hand. "I had hoped to do this in a rather romantic setting, on some tropical world..."

Regardless, it had to happen now. Once more, Sarlow got down on his knees, holding out the box. "Lady Lina Djo, our love has only begun, and while I understand your reservations, I hope that my love is enough, that I have shown you... that you are my universe, and that I shall put you first. Lina, I love you, and I have loved you since the day I laid eyes on you on Malsheem."

Opening the box, Sarlow revealed the ring inside of it.

"Will you make me the happiest man in this galaxy and marry me?"

In the breif moments of quiet while he approached, Lina's heart was in her throat. She could have ruined everything by telling him the truth, but to keep it from him? She couldn't do it. The mistrust and hatred that had developed between her own parents had left scars across her body and mind. She wouldn't do it to her own child.

When he kissed her, she looped her arms around his neck, fingers running into his hair before he drew away lowering his head to her stomach. She brought a hand to her mouth to stifle the relieved sob that escaped her. Drawing in a deep breath and leaning into his hand as caressed her. As he left her breifly on the porch she took the moment to regain her composure, wiping her face clear of tears and drawing in a deep steadying breath.

When he returned with a box, she blinked at him in surprise as he took a knee. A tropical world? "Sarlow..." she began, but he was already talking. The question laid out before her. For a long moment, she said nothing her eyes fixed on his, processing the speed at which everything was happening.

Marriage. A child. The name Zambrano. She would be so indoctrinated into His life...she would be Zambrano. She realised, as she searched Sarlow's eyes that it didn't matter.

She would be his.

Lina leaned forward, pressing her forhead against his before kissing him softly, her heart soaring, she drew back just enough for her to speak.

"Yes, Sarlow, I will marry you."

There was a moment where Sarlow believed she might just say no, it was too soon, and there was too much going on for this to be a reality. With relief, he breathed as she pressed her forehead against his. Sealed with a kiss, she said said yes, Sarlow slid the beautifully made ring onto her finger and rose to his feet, and then kissed her again. He was going to do right by Lina, and their child, the Epicanthix vowed in his heart and in his mind that they would always be first they would be his universe. His very reason for being, he pulled Lina into an embrace and let the ambiance of the forest and the river surround them.

"I promise you this, Lina." Began the Wolf of the Reach, "you will want for nothing, you and our child shall have all that you care for. You are first in my life, you, this child." He continued, and then leaned over to whisper into her ear with a cheeky tone, "and however many more there are to come from our union." Pulling back just enough to speak, to look Lina in the eyes, "are my universe." Sarlow's azure gaze locked unto her emerald colored eyes and found himself closing the distance. Another kiss, another promise of his love etched in the very fabric of his touch.

A Sith Lord, a monster, the beast of the forests, the wolf of the reach, had been among the titles he had, but none could compare to that of husband and father. "Perhaps," he promised, "we shall dine later on, but for the moment, I believe I have everything I desire... Right here." Sarlow scooped Lina up into his arms, carried her toward inside of their home.

They lay entangled on the fur rug before the fire, Lina's head resting on Sarlow shoulder, her arm draped across his abdomen, the first reflecting in the jade stone of the ring he'd adorned her finger with. The soft crackle of the fire and the steady thrum of his heart made her eyes lids heavy. She was exhausted, lack of sleep combined with the energy the child was taking already and she found herself struggling to stay awake.

She'd never felt so at peace. Her life with Leilah had always had an edge of worry to it, for she was Leilah's protector. But here? For the first time in her life, Lina didn't have to be worried about anyone or anything. She was safe.

"Let stay here." she said sleepily. "Leave all of it behind."

Laying on the carpet in front of the warm crackles of the fire, Sarlow held Lina in his arms. His strong, calloused hands brushed the soft tresses of her deep black hair away from her face. The Prince’s deep azure gaze fell to Lina’s endless emerald gaze. He considered himself the luckiest man in the Galaxy, far from the high-stakes world of the Sith. There with him was an angel, she occupied his thoughts, his heart, and as he looked in her eyes. All he could see was the future, their future, and while her words were sweet as honey. They both knew that there was no where they could hide, no amount of running that could keep them safe from his father’s reach.

Rather than answer her directly, he merely leaned in and gently pressed his lips to hers. Then he rested his forehead against hers, his hands pulled her body into his. “If only that we could,” whispered Sarlow to Lina, understanding the underlying tragedy that pinned their romance. As the moments passed, the fire continued to burn. The Panathan Wolf made a promise to his beloved, “know that on this day, and in this hour, until the expanse of the Nether and its chaotic realms claim my soul.” His voice so soft, an octave above a whisper he swore, “I swear my fealty to you, Lina Djo.”

Sarlow’s warm voice just beside her ear, he took her hand and placed it over his chest. “The moment we met, the moment we spoke, you took what was already yours.” With a soft exhale, he breathed, and then went on, “your audacious spirit, your very independence, your brilliance, and... your smile.” All added as to why he had fallen for her. He didn’t want to dwell on what they couldn’t do, and so he focused on what they could do. First, he chuckled, as Sarlow knew that he’d have to get up - remove himself from Lina. Second, his stomach rumbled which gave away exactly why he was going to move.

“As much as I love, laying here with you, whispering the sweet nothings into your ear,” his natural tone took place, he casually continued, “I am rather hungry and I had been making a brilliant Ord Trasian pizza, would you care to assist me?”

She leaned into him, his murmered words sending pleasurable shivers down her spine, stirring the primal in her. He was hers. Completely and without hesitation he devoted himself to her and her alone. She shook her head as he made to move, locking her arms about his neck she drew him down to her as she sank back onto the fur rug, her kiss hot, demanding.

Then her own stomach grumbled and she let out a small growl of annoyance and released him. "Fine." She said with a sigh "I'll cave to my other needs for now."

She rose, reluctantly padding off towards the bedroom to find a robe.

Sarlow let out a soft chuckle, as he stood at the makeshift kitchen and began to prepare the sauce for the pizza. When Lina emerged back out onto the deck, the dogs greeted her happily and he said, "we'll certainly have to make more than a few adjustments to the house. A crib, a playpen, a nursing area, and a lot more." The prospects of fatherhood were daunting and it scared him. Ara had shown up on his proverbial doorstep as an adult. He had no hand in raising her, and now here was the very thing he hadn't done, raise a child. His father and mother were certainly examples of how to raise a family, most certainly a large family at that.

With the sauce simmering away, Sarlow threw a small towel over his shoulder and walked over to the small mini fridge and took out several choices for toppings. "I can eat almost anything, so I'll let you decide what we have." Of course as he thought about it more, Lina, and their child, he realized, "we may need to have medical intervention." Concern etched on his face, "while there are half-epicanthix hybrids, and certainly they've had human mothers, some of my siblings among their number. It will not be easy." And unlikely to go to full term, "but my family is quite prepared to help."

There were no robes that weren't three feet too long for her, she made a mental note to see about getting her wardrobe move her in the morning, for not she snagged one of his shirts, and headed back to the deck, her hand scratching the hounds heads as they rose to greet her, tails wagging. The wood of the deck was cool beneath her feet as she moved towards him waving the hounds away as he began reeling off a list of things to worry about.

She slipped an arm about his waist inspecting the choices of toppings, she picked a mixture of spicy meats and sweet vegetables before heaving a sigh at his words. "My love, you need to stop. We can worry about the long list of things we need to arrange tomorrow, and we can talk about medical interventions further down the line. Right now, all I want to do is celebrate and try not to think about how terrified I am of becoming a mother."

The lump in her throat came out of nowhere, and she swallowed hard against it, leaning her head against his chest.
