Approved Tech Heavy Mandalorian Battle Armor

Status
Not open for further replies.
Intent: To have heavy mandalorian armor that is unique to ragnar's fighting style
Development Thread: If needed
Manufacturer: Mandal Motors
Model: Armor
Affiliation: Mandalorian
Modularity: Yes, If needed to more weapon attachments may be added on later
Production: Unique
Material: Beskar
Description:
+/- Beskar layers: Beskar is extremely resistant to blasters, and light sabers allowing for suitable protection. This material is applied with the layer technique consisting three thick layers of Beskar in order to protect the individual. Unfortunately, this makes the user extremely slower thus further damaging Ragnar's already crappy speed. The trade off is that this gives him extremely well protection against virtually any melle weapon even a lightsaber! But after an hour the light saber would eventually be able to penetrate the Beskar due to it being melted down by the light saber's heat. Otherwise any other melle weapon would take weeks before being able to put a dent into the armor. This helps to not only further maximize close quarters combat but also ranged combat, the armor's thick layers easily protects against the thin laser bolts hit the armor.
+/- Elbows: There are flexible reinforced cloth padding underneath the Beskar layers of the elbow. This allows for their to be a full ranged of motion. The downside to this is eventually after a few weeks of in long fighting the cushions will need to be replaced. If not then the arm's will not be able to move, at times this can be a pain to do.

+/- behind the knees : Exact same reason

+/- waist : the thick layers protect the waist but unfortunately this makes most turning movements a pain to do.

+ Weapon rack: During missions it is always good to have storage for your weapon. Raganrs armor has just that , per his request . The rack can carry up to one heavy weapon at max , anything below this could easily fit as well.
+ Helmet with multiple modes : explanatory
- Lower back joint: If anyone where to find out about the armors weakness behind the back the user would be terribly at a disadvantage. Anyone fast enough to outmaneuver ragnar would be able to strike the fatal weakness of his armor. This joint has a space large enough for a child's fist to go through. The lower back joint needed this space so the weapon rack could be installed to the piece yet unifying the armor.
- Ankles: Another area that is completely unprotected this could be used to easily demobilize ragnar. This ankle joint was removed due to ragnar's wishes. Mainly because he already was slow, if his ankles felt uncomfortable then he would lose his ability to fight at ease.

Classification: Multipurpose
Weight: 45kg ( this is a fourth of ragnars weight, this is manageable)
Quality: 8
Other Feature(s): Life support, various helmet modes: X-ray- Night vision- Heat signature- regular , Weapon Rack for heavy repeater , Built in Beskar Knuckles

Neck: The neck has a Beskar guard added into the set due to the fact that Ragnar did not want to end up like Jango Fett
Palms/ fingers : Ragnar wanted as much protection as possible, therefore a thin sheet of Beskar was placed around the gauntlet in order to allow mobility. But a little protection as well.

Mkay, let's get to work.

I like the weight drawback. Heavy armor is hard to move in which you addressed.

The main issue is that unless you have a specific reason why the lower back and ankles, usually two of the most heavily armored areas short of the torso itself, I'm not sure if those would be accurate. Usually, even with Beskar'gam, weakpoints generally are found in areas like the back of the knees, the inside of the elbows, the armpits, palms/fingers, the waist, and the neck. Canonically, Beskar'gam had a major weakpoint at the neck as seen when Mace Windu decapitated Jango Fett in Episode II. That was later mostly negated by a gorget later on, but that didn't fully remove the danger there.

Also, just to clarify, how many weapons can be carried in the aforementioned weapon rack?

Mkay, two things left that I can see.

Go ahead and add the following weakpoints OR list why they're no longer weakpoints, please: neck, armpits, palms/fingers, inside the elbows, back of the knees, and the waist.

Lastly, go ahead and remove the phrase in parenthesis in the title for me. This is less an edit and more a request to help make things neat 'n' tidy in the approved section :)

@ me when done and we'll move along
