Heavy Metal Genius

After what transpired on Mygeeto and Eol Sha, Jessica realized that her old armor had weaknesses that had to be addressed: she found herself in situations where she needed to have that extra from additional armor strength. Since she was accustomed to being slow as well as using the Force when a boost of speed is needed, the heavy weight of an armor strong enough for her needs would not be that much of a hindrance. She knows better than to be overconfident about armor, especially because she knows her limitations as a Force-user pretty well - plus she knows that she has to expect a wide variety of things on the field. That said, before she goes to Coruscant get the armor forged, she decides to at least notify the artisan willing to forge the armor that the artisan will be getting the commission. Oh and because the armor is tied to the person, rather than the office, she decided that the suit of armor would be privately-funded.

------------------------------

Dear [member="Stephanie Brown"],

After having bought a crate of laminanium from a commodities speculator on Sullust, I searched far and wide for people capable of forging armor from laminanium. Since, from what I know about the forging process of beskar, laminanium seems to be worked much as beskar would, perhaps I would like to commission my personal suit of laminanium armor from you, with me supplying the base material.

Her Royal Highness Jessica
Princess Consort of Glyss

------------------------------

Stephanie would receive the message and look over it, things at the forge were looking very good for her. Business was booming as well as anyone could hope, she would smile while reading the message from Jessica. She had never heard of Glyss before, so she did some research. From what she could tell their Monarchy was very open minded to most everything, this included same-sex marriages their Queen herself had married [member="Jessica Med-Beq"], making her Princess Consort of Glyss. This could be the very thing Stephanie needed to have her business to the next level.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear, [member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

This is a highly irregular commission but one that I would be glad to take, I shall meet you at the spaceport where we might discuss things further. Should all work out then I shall take this commission and make you the best suit of armor I have ever made

Yours Truly,
Stephanie Brown

---------------------

Or rather, the best laminanium suit: beskar was her specialty, but beskar was quite different from laminanium other than its foging methods, she thought, while being reminded that laminanium had limited lightsaber resistance by virtue of its ability to melt and self-seal any lightsaber hit (and not to stick to its wearer when it seals itself), beskar was a lot harder to repair. Yet [member="Stephanie Brown"] acknowledged that it was a highly irregular commission: what is usually par for the course for beskarsmiths are beskar'gams and beskads. Laminanium was just fine to her because she doesn't expect to fight Sith that often, because she wasn't one's everyday Jedi. She preferred surgical uses of the Force over the rough-and-tumble short-range slugfests that occur up close and personal, and she knew that, while she had to be mindful of her computational power, she also knows that, even with the strongest suit of laminanium armor, she must not be lulled into a false sense of security. She flew from the Jedi Temple on Eol Sha, where she used her own brain (with a pinch of the Force as a painkiller for good measure) Upon arriving at Northport, near The Works, where the Beskar Ring Forge is, she meets with Stephanie, whose Force-alignment expectation value must be in the ]-0.4, -0.6[ range. That is, Stephanie isn't completely dark to her eyes. But she knows better than to attempt to interdict dark-siders on sight. She summons the crate of laminanium using telekinesis, and places it between both ladies, knowing that she towered over Stephanie pretty easily.

"It's me, Jessica: the crate of laminanium is right in front of you"

Stephanie would have to look almost straight up at the woman, she was giant compared to tiny Stephanie, but this did not intimidate Stephanie. During her time forging Stephanie's biceps had grown quite a bit, she also was a pro at hand to hand combat and her Beskad was within reach. She would look at the crate and then back at Jessica

"Your highness, I will need to take measurements on you as well as get a concept of what you want before I begin forging"

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

"Understood, but here is not the place for taking those measurements. Maybe in the forge's ready room..."

From what she knew, based on those Mandalorian padawans that once came to her to learn mechu-deru, is that the process for forging beskar'gams, which was what most of these padawans even used mechu-deru for, often required a high level of personalization. Which means that Jessica will likely be down to underwear while the measurements are being taken. With that said, she followed Stephanie to the Works, and specifically to where the forge was. Only in the upper level of the forge would she be able to get [member="Stephanie Brown"] to see her body for what it is, and take the relevant measurements. Then again, Stephanie may have readily accepted such an irregular commission because she knew that Beskar Ring Forge would benefit from having one of the galaxy's most recognizeable geniuses as a client, Jessica. That, even though she would suspect that what made her a recognizeable genius may have to do with her body, now that she took off her clothes in the forge's ready room...

Stephanie would nod and lead the way to the ready room, she would then step out for a moment allowing Jessica to strip to just her underwear. It would make her slightly blush seeing this beauty in her underwear, but none the less she would grab her measuring tape and she would begin to measure Jessica beginning with the waist before moving to her chest, then her shoulders and her height. Finally she would do the in-seam of her leg and the out seam. "I will let you get redressed then meet me in my office, it's just across the hall." She said her face beet red.

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

The ready room being very much like a locker room, she realized [member="Stephanie Brown"]'s pH rose and peaked in just a few seconds. Will the beskarsmith's pH remain that high, that is, will she still be beet-red, once she is back up in her princess dress? Because the dress has no corset or other items requiring lacing, she can pretty easily put the dress back on with very little time, even without using the Force. It's clear enough, however, that there could be multiple reasons: it's entirely possible that Stephanie realized Jessica is one of those few Jedi that can grudgingly work with dark-siders, even though it's only temporary. It could also be because of Jessica's body, even though she regarded herself as just one pretty woman in that respect, with easily a few thousand or even a million or two like this on Coruscant alone. But, luckily, Stephanie's office is just across the hall. Now that she is ready and redressed, she faces Stephanie again, while being reminded of what's inside a beskar'gam:

"You have probably realized by now that, due to my Force-sensitive nature, I think I can do without night vision or HUDs: these items would just make me vulnerable to information overload. Otherwise, I'd still take the remaining equipment typically included in a beskar'gam: combat de-ionizers, grav boots for shock absorption, magno-soles, a grappling hook launcher, a wrist-mounted com-link, a rebreather, a bottle of oxygen, canteen, medpacs on my utility belt, and finally climate control equipment"

Better have the remaining stuff so that I can save both computational power and Force-energy when on the field: after all, my brain is my main Force-instrument: there is only so much abuse it can take before stress headaches get the better of me, she thought.

Stephanie would look at the woman and just think back to what she had seen earlier. She would listen to the woman's words and begin to think, the forging would be simple enough, it would be the electronics that would be difficult for the girl. She grinned and said "I can do that anythingelse?"

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

"There's nothing else I would like that I didn't already mention"

That, knowing that even Mandalorian Jedi/Sith routinely ask for such equipment, let alone those Mandos who have no Force-sensitivity whatsoever. NFU Mandos ask for HUDs, night vision pretty much without fail; FU Mandos are more of a mixed bag. Those who are not afraid of information overload, or otherwise expect to be fighting enemies capable of neutralizing the Force on a regular basis, will ask for that, but she would not. [member="Stephanie Brown"] have realized that Jessica is not one's everyday Mando: few enough among the Mandos were able to use the Force, even less seemed to rely on the Force over any NFU weapon (she may have realized that even NFUs can wield lightsabers nowadays). But what Force-using Mandos there were, were the topic of one of those jokes: Mando Jedi/Sith were people who used lightsabers, wore beskar armor and used the light or dark side of the Force respectively. That, in spite of what she was led to believe about Jedi and Sith respectively, in that the denomination being more of a function of the morality and the Force-alignment being distinct from it.

Stephanie would begin to sketch up a design for the armor. "If you wish to stay on planet until completion I can arrange that, if not I can hand deliver it to Glyss for you. Would you like any paint on it?"

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

"I would like it hand-delivered to Glyss then: I have spent the past few months mostly away from the baby. Ziana deserves at least some time with both parents when the baby will soon walk or speak her first words"

After a myriad of adventures on Mygeeto and then on to Eol Sha, spending a few days with little Ziana would be well-appreciated. True, her main claim to fame in the LGBT world was mostly due to her marriage into royalty, which is often claimed to be a LGBT-hostile stratum, and thus making her envied by so many who champion LGBT rights across the galaxy. Even so, once one steps out of the LGBT world, she is mostly known for something other than her same-sex marriage, or even for who she is married with, more like what she uses her genius for. Knowing that, however, the most expensive part of forging a beskar'gam was the beskar itself (or here the laminanium), she would expect the bill from [member="Stephanie Brown"] to be much less expensive than if she had no materials on hand when she arrived on Coruscant. Before she left for Glyss, she had one last remark to make regarding billing, knowing that labor included shipping here (even though she may be fielding other orders from other people along the way to Glyss):

"Thank you, the labor, armorweave and electronics will be paid cash on delivery"

"Alright I shall get to work at once then. I shall have it done in a month to a month in a half. I shall then hand deliver it to Glyss." She said holding her hand out, once Jessica excepted it she would shake and then she would stand up and take the crate, opening it she would take some of the metal as well as the design she had drawn up down to the forge, there she would light up the burners and let them heat up before taking some of the metal and putting it in the forge, getting it hot she would place it on the anvil and begin to hammer it into shape, within the next month she would finish all pieces and get ready to deliver.
