FINAL DAWN
O'REEN, UNKNOWN REGIONS

Tython was an unprecedented disaster. Unlike Csilla and Korriban where they had emerged victorious having achieved their objectives albeit at a heavy cost, they had suffered a decisive defeat, enough to put an end to any plans to launch any further offensives throughout the Core Worlds and giving their enemies the opportunity to lick their wounds and strike back reclaiming the Mawite-Occupied Worlds that made up the so-called “Maw Corridor” as it was being called. Already the Alliance had struck at Batorine and it was certain that they would continue launching similar incursions until a large counter-offensive could be launched, and if they were successful in pushing back the Maw all the way back to Selvaris, the Final Dawn would find itself at a huge disadvantage.

Marlon Sularen, now High Regent of the Final Dawn in the wake of the mysterious disappearance of Derix Tirall shortly after Tython, was left to inherit this mess, forced to micromanage the ongoing situation regarding the Maw Corridor as well as the potential threat of the Mawite Tribes who had challenged the authority of Darth Mori at Exegol along with ongoing developments within the Galactic Alliance and the Outer Rim. In order to ensure the continued survival of the Final Dawn in the face of these new threats whether they came from outside the Maw or within, Sularen had called for a summit of Final Dawn Officials to be held in the Sanctum at Fort Maximus on O’reen in order to discuss the next course of action for the Final Dawn and consolidate its position within the Maw and the larger galaxy. If the Final Dawn was to emerge as a dominant force within the Maw, then it would have to overcome the many challenges that it had to face but first he needed to make sure that his subordinates were up to the task and capable of achieving such a goal.

Thus from his seat at the head of a large circular table within the conference chamber of the Sanctum, the High Regent of the Final Dawn patiently awaited the arrival of those he had summoned with his trusted aide, Colonel Rackham at his side, ready to bring forth a sense of rejuvenation for the Final Dawn and ensure that it would stand above all other subgroups within the Maw by the end of this phase of the Second Great Hyperspace War. He was no longer going to be the underdog of the Maw, it was his time to become the top dog and to assert himself, and it would all start from this very summit, one step at a time.

Whether or not she had received word or invitation, Maestus arrived regardless. Her ship, the Praedo Mundos, erupted from hysperspace, slowing into orbit near Oreen.

She strode through the hanger towards her shuttle, hands clasped at the small of her back. She wore no mask, her face was twisted into a scowl as she boarded her shuttle.

With little more than a flick of her wrist, she waved off the Commander of her Chosen. Not today, Satan. She would go alone to this meeting.

As the shuttle set about its short journey, Maestus allowed her mind to reminisce and think. So much had changed in the last few years. Csilla. All the planets the Maw has taken in their quest for galactic extermination.

Through it all, the Final Dawn has been instrumental. Maestus realized the need for a smooth transition in power. In fact, everything about the Maw was in flux at the moment. Were their enemies to realize this, they may find out what an advamtage they held over the Maw. Maestus hoped they did not find out.

Her shuttle touched down, amd Maestus bootheels echoed off the durasteel ramp. She stalked inside, robes swirling a violent dance of black with flashes of crimson. A snap of her wrist and the meet room doors opened before her.

She strode in, pausing across from Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen at the head of the table.

My apologies for my tardiness. Shall we wait for anyone else or shall we begin?

She then sank languidly into the chair at the foot of the table. Folding her hands in her lap gently.

Rot.

Death.

Corruption.

He couldn't get away from those words. Each night he slept he saw that creature. That thing. Berik was in a tunnel that seemed to go on forever. It was dimly lit and dead silent except for the sound of Dakrul, drawing nearer from one end of the tunnel. Kenth was running as fast as he could from the noise yet it grew louder, the priest was gaining on him. He didn't dare look back but he knew it was right behind him, he knew it would grab him any second. The smell of rotten flesh filled his lungs and he coughed, slowing himself down. Still he couldn't bring himself to turn to look at it.

Kenth jolted up from the seat in his shuttle. Another nightmare, they had been getting progressively more frequent since Foerost. The shuttle pilot turned to him and spoke. "Sir we're closing in on Fort Maximus now, ground control notified me you'll be escorted to the sanctum for the meeting." Kenth slightly disoriented nodded. "Yes yes, the Sanctum... for the summit." he said in a jumble of words. He was sweating heavily and still gaining his bearings. "Are... are you alright sir?" the shuttle pilot asked. Kenth sat there for a second before looking back up, regaining his steely composure. "I'm just fine. Take us in" he replied as the shuttle came in to land.

The walk to the Sanctum from the landing pad was quiet. Past the crimson troopers of the final dawn lined up neatly, and past the various staff going about their business, speaking in hushed tones. The last thoughts of his nightmare drifted away from his mind as Kenth now had an entirely different beast to do battle with, this battle would be one of words and the beast his superiors. The people he would talk with were purists and Sith, they would easily notice the growing doubt in Kenth's mind if he wasn't careful.

It was a dangerous time for the Maw, the catastrophic losses at Tython, the death of Solipsis, the guiding hand of the Dawn and the wider Maw. Kenth had already thought of ways to jump ship if he needed to. Yet he had still shown up, out of fear or loyalty he did not know.

He entered the room and made his way to the table. All he had to do now was to keep his composure.

FINAL DAWN
O'REEN, UNKNOWN REGIONS

As a few minutes passed by, out of the many individuals Sularen had summoned for this meeting only two showed up, individuals who hadn't even been directly summoned by the High Regent in the first place. How did they receive word of the summit was not of the High Regent's concern now, for they were the only two present at his summit, and the type of people Sularen required for his future plans were those who were capable of answering his calls and summons at any moment at any time, and so far only Darth Maestus, Sith Lord and Warlord of Crackull, along with Kenth Berik of the Adjudicators Mercenary Company, were the only ones to meet that criteria. They would have to suffice for now. But considering they were the only ones whom had answered the High Regent's call so quickly, he would require their full loyalty and collaboration if his plans were to succeed. Nevertheless the very fact that only Maestus and Berik had answered his call, still somewhat discouraged the High Regent, although he would maintain his composure for the sake of this summit.

"I guess we can start now, Lord Maestus." Sularen said in response to the Twi'lek New Sith. Solipsis had once granted him unlimited access to her realm and resources when he first joined the Brotherhood of the Maw, but this was the first time they were in the same meeting and interacting with each other. But it was Solipsis who brought them both the Maw and hopefully from that basis they could find common ground. As for Berik he had already pledged his loyalty to the High Regent so the only thing that Sularen would require now would be Maestus's full collaboration in his plans to come. "So i've called this summit to discuss the future of the Final Dawn, especially in the wake of the disasterous Battle of Tython and the loss of Solipsis, once the guiding hand of the Maw and the Final Dawn. We find ourselves in a dangerous situation, with our holdings in the Maw Corridor under active threat and facing the potential threat of defiant Mawite Tribes who might seek to takeover the Maw entirely if given the opportunity."

"While Mori has kept them in check for now. I am certain that won't last for long. Thus it is important that i have your full collaboration moving forwards as what we choose to do today will determine the very future of the Final Dawn." Sularen began giving his guests a breif summary of their current situation. He would then pause, leaving both Maestus and Berik the opportunity to comment on the matter before he could resume the meeting any further. There was alot of work for the High Regent, and hopefully everything would go just as planned.

Tharn walked in, her intellect notwithstanding, as she came into the meeting she was invited to. "My Lord." She bows before Lord Maestus when she returns to her standing position and faces the High Regent. "High Regent, I was invited to this summit?" Tharn said with a degree of confidence but lacking any of the human overconfidence that they have. "I think we should draw in our enemies into traps designed for each species and their weaknesses." She then shows a slight grin at the High Regent. "We will, I think, start our operations in the Fondor system and pull the Alliance apart piece by piece..." Then she smiles with a malicious look in her eye and says, "They'll be the architects... of their own destruction."

The Caridian sat and listened as Sularen spoke and after the Chiss women who he did not recognize. He smirked slightly, she reminded him of Grand Moff Vel'al'ari. The smirk disappeared quickly when he heard what she had to say. Tharn was a different beast altogether, while Vel'al'ari wanted only for Bilbringi to prosper this new Chiss was hell bent on the destruction of the Alliance, much like the rest of the Final Dawn. As the two speakers came to a close Kenth sat up in his chair to say his own point.

"Before you can even think about going after the Alliance you have to look at the safety of our own forces." he replied bluntly. "The high regent is right. The Mawite tribes will tear us apart given the opportunity." He said before giving Maestus Maestus a scowl. "And I wouldn't bet a dime on the Sith to keep us safe." he said in a slightly more hushed tone but loud enough for those at the table to hear. Kenth made no effort to hide his contempt on the force.

"This extended contract my men have with the Final Dawn is becoming increasingly untenable." he continued with his attention turned back to the rest of those at the summit. "What guarantee do we have that we won't end up fighting both the Maw and Alliance at the same time."

"I've already had to do that once and I'm not exactly keen to do it again."
he said, referencing his previous battle against both Alliance special forces and Mawite Heathen priests over the ruins of Csilla.

FINAL DAWN
O'REEN, UNKNOWN REGIONS

Sularen listened as both Tharn and Kenth Berik spoke. Tharn was already very enthusiastic, already eager to wage the next phase of the Second Great Hyperspace War already suggesting to begin with a strike on Fondor. She shared some of the same ideas Sularen held in terms of dealing with the Galactic Alliance such as specific traps against certain targets and the overall strategy of tearing the Galactic Alliance apart piece by piece, what Sularen called a "death by a thousand cuts". However Kenth Berik, being more reserved spoke up bringing up the issue of the Final Dawn's compromised situation geographically wise. Sandwiched between the Tribes of the Maw and the Galactic Alliance, the Final Dawn out of all the subgroups in the Maw was at the greatest disadvantage especially now that they had to keep an eye on the Tribes of the Maw, who now posed a potential threat to the Final Dawn given their earlier defiance towards Darth Mori, and manage the ongoing war with the Galactic Alliance.

However what surprised Sularen was Kenth Berik's mention of the contract between him and Sularen. He spoke about how it was becoming more unprofitable and how he was unwilling to fight both the Alliance and the Maw most likely referring to his operation at the ruins of Csilla against Alliance Special Forces and the Mawite Heathen Priests. From the way in which Berik spoke, Sularen assumed he was starting to have doubts on his commitments to the Final Dawn. So far Kenth Berik was perhaps one of Sularen's cloest and most loyal allies having served him since the dissolution of his Imperial Directorate nearly two decades ago. So this was very alarming for Sularen, although he would retain his composure and would proceed to respond.

"I will be honest with you Berik, there is little guarantee that we won't be fighting the Mawite Tribes. The only thing keeping the Maw from fully collapsing into civil war is the unifying authority of Darth Mori and her Shadow Hand, Ptolemis. However i do believe you overestimate their true capabilities, Berik although i do understand your concerns considering your unique encounter at Csilla. Nevertheless we possess two advantages that the Tribes do not possess, the first being a flexible and powerful navy, and the second being unity. Our Navy has proven themselves to be a match for the much larger navies of powerful nations such as the Alliance and the New Imperials and has spearheaded most of the Maw's Naval Operations throughout this war, in comparison, the tribes only field small fleets with only the Kragamond Wartrime and the Crimson Hands of Kyrel Ren holding any significant naval assets that could pose any credible threat to our fleets."

"However, it is worth noting that the Tribes, while posing a great threat to the Final Dawn are not unified. While there are some tribes that may be on good terms like the Bloodsworn and the Crimson Hands as shown with how both of their leaders : Zachariel Steelblood and Kyrel Ren found common ground and stood up against Mori during her coronation, there are some that have actively fought each other, the most notable case being when the leader of the Kragamond Wartribe Akûz the Ravager directly fought Zachariel during Mori's very coronation. Not only would we have a better advantage in terms of naval warfare should a Mawite Civil War occur, but there would be pre-existing internal divisions within the Mawite Tribes that could be exploited to keep them divided, having them fight amongst themselves which would only weaken them while leaving the Final Dawn intact."

"This will minimize the need to even fight the tribes as perhaps even by the time we intervene in the Civil War, they will be too weak to pose any threat to us. Not to mention that our Core Worlds of O'reen and lol are amongst the most fortified of Mawite Worlds, which could most certainly repel any assault from the Tribes. It's just like Tharn said earlier, those tribes will be the architects of their own destruction and they won't realize such until it is too late. I hope this will alleviate your concerns in regards to them. Now shall we advance to the topic of the Galactic Alliance and our strategy in regards to our war with them? Tharn has already pointed out to starting our operations on Fondor which i would like to further elaborate on."

This talk of overarching plans and schemes to keep the Maw's attention from the Dawn did not sit well with Berik. Strong navies and fortified worlds could only hold on for so long before collapse, especially if they had to worry about both the Maw and the rest of the galaxy. He slumped back into his chair and raised his hand to his chin. No, he wasn't satisfied. It all depended far too much on the lack of unity in the wider Maw while have no real contingency to preserve the Mawite territory. Not that Kenth liked the tribes, he despised them. But every step the Alliance gets closer to Dawn space raises the chance of defeat.

Before long the subject had changed and they once again were on the topic of the Alliance. In character with Sularen, the chance at crippling or seizing key naval assets was at the forefront of his mind. Fondor and their shipyards, the outskirts of Alliance space and far from the 'frontlines'. "Fondor? So far from our own lines? Talk of instability of the Maw and the threat to the corridor and you wish to try and get to Fondor with a sizeable force?" he questioned. He let his arm drop to the table and he grimaced slightly. While he may not like it he had to admit, the High Regent was bold. "It is an... ambitious target."

FINAL DAWN
O'REEN, UNKNOWN REGIONS

Sularen leaned back into his chair as Kenth Berik spoke. He was a voice of reason among those present in contrast with the ambition and overconfidence that Tharn held. His loyalty was already shaken with the prospect of a future Mawite Civil War so it made sense he'd seek caution, in his eyes the Final Dawn was already in a disadvantageous situation sandwiched between the Mawite Tribes and the Alliance and now here it was pursuing further offensives against the Alliance and overextending itself. It was true that the instability of the Maw and the Maw Corridor were concerning issues, but Sularen saw the bigger picture, and the possibility to expand the Final Dawn's reach across the galaxy, while maintaining it's hold in the Maw Corridor and keeping the Mawite Tribes at bay. He was determined to ensure that by the time the Maw collapsed, the Final Dawn would be ready to emerge as a Major Force in the Galaxy.

"An ambitious target indeed but my goal is not to seize the Fondor Shipyards. A prolonged occupation of the shipyards or Fondor itself is unsustainable considering we weren't even able to hold Empress Teta after Tython. Instead the true target is what lays within the Shipyards and what the Alliance plans to unleash upon us. Remember Berik, we represent the bulk of the Maw's Naval Strength, it is our fleets that spearheaded the push into the Core, as such the Alliance seems to have shifted towards countering the might of our navy. Already my spies on Fondor imbedded within one of our proxy corporations, have reported that Roble Manufacturing, a Shipbuilding Corporation that is based on Fondor and whose CEO also serves as the Planet's Senator, is currently working on a new Warship." Sularen began.

"This next-generation Star Defender as described by my spies is meant specifically to counter the sheer might of our mainline Star Destroyers, the same vessels that once formed the core of the Armada that pushed into the Core, and remember that it took the combined forces of the entire galaxy to defeat said armada. Already they've begun the mass-production of their new Courageous-Class Star Destroyers which are said to replace their aging fleet of Endurance Mark-II Fleet Carriers and Reedemer-Class Star Defenders. This is the first time in a decade since the REC stopped developing new ships for the Alliance, that the Alliance itself has begun producing it's own modern warships, and one of the main advantages we have held over the Alliance since the beginning of the Second Great Hyperspace War was ingenuity and if we lose that advantage, the risk of losing the war only increases"

"The Neutralization of the Fondor Shipyards and the Capture of both Senator Roble and the Team of Roble Manufacturing Engineers working on the project is a obvious first step in our overall strategy to defeat the Alliance, depriving them of a potentially monstrous warship that could further tip the scales in their favor. Like Tharn said, we shall tear the Alliance apart, piece by piece, and they shall be the architects of their own destruction."

A smash and grab. "That doesn't change the fact that the shipyards are heavily guarded." he responded. It was never easy. From Ord Mantell to Adethorpe the odds were always stacked against them. Kenth sat their thinking were Kenth to entertain the idea of going to Fondor there were a number of factors that they'd need to consider, Fondor was far from Mawite space.

"Getting there and back with a sizable fleet intact. That is the first issue. We must either traverse through Alliance or Eternal space, neither side on friendly terms with the Dawn." he said before looking back to Sularen.

"That doesn't even consider the fact that these new Alliance ships may be part of the garrison fleet."

"Shipyards never have been easy to take, I would be surprised if the Alliance hasn't tasked more than one fleet in its defense considering its importance." he paused, tapping his fingers against the table. "I need to discuss this with my men before I consider this feasible." he finished. He would also have to discuss the potential end of the contract with them, the latter would need to be only with his most trusted officers.
