- Baradium Bisulfate Explosive: While Baradium is a well known high yield explosive its cousin, Baradium Bisulfate, is an even more high yield explosive and as such was used in the AAG-01
- Sticky Grenade: With its inclusion of Molecular Electric Cling the AAG-01 can cling to almost any surface
- Can't Cook It: A common tactic of grenade usage is to 'cook' the grenade for a few seconds before throwing it as to not allow the grenade to be thrown back, unfortunately do to some of the grenades safety features this is not the case with the AAG-01
- Just a Grenade: Being a grenade means that its can only be thrown as far as the user is able to, which might still leave them in the blast zone
Once finished with the MHG-01 the Hekler'Kok design team got to work once again with the goal of expanding the company's line of explosives and got to work on doing just that. They deliberated on what to design for the next explosive before finally deciding on a high yield grenade designed to take on armored vehicles and heavily fortified positions. To do this they decided on a 'sticky' grenade of sorts with a Baradium explosive.
They created an initial prototype and while the sticky portion worked well they found that the Baradium explosive didn't provide enough explosive power and instead replaced it with the higher yield Baradium Bisulfate. While they were satisfied with the sticky portion they replaced the adhesive they had initially used with Molecular Electric Cling, used in Adhesion Disc climbing gear, known for its ability to stick to any surface.
With the basic design finished the team ran into a problem: safety. It was found in a few tests, thankfully with inert prototypes, there was a possibility of the grenade to get stuck to the user. In order to solve this the design team inserted a few safety features. The biggest feature being a ambidextrous safety lever that is released once the grenade is thrown and once it is released it activates the cling after 1.5 seconds once it is out of the grasp of the thrower. Besides the safety lever they added in an ambidextrous safety clip and pull ring. They also re-used the same variable fuse from the MHG-01 but removed the instant setting due to it being incompatible with the grenade.
