- Reliable: Just like the AR-01 the BR-01 uses the same proprietary short stroke gas piston that gives the AR-01 its reliability
- Versatile: With it higher stopping power and longer range the BR-01 is a much more versatile weapon being able to fill the role battle rifle to automatic rifle to designated marksman rifle
- Heavy Weight: Like all other Hekler'Kok weapons the R&D used their lightweight Titanium-Alusteel alloy but due to increased thickness for reinforcement in key areas and to help reduce recoil
- Low Rate of Fire: Due to the more heavy recoil of the BR-01 compared to the AR-01 the R&D team lowered the rate of fire to make the recoil more manageable
- Limited Capacity: Like any slugthrower rifle the BR-01 has a limited capacity compared to its contemporary blaster rifles, even more so than its smaller counterpart
After the development of the AR-01 was complete but before it went to release it the Hekler'Kok R&D sent out the rifle to a select group of mercenaries, bounty hunters and private military corporations for testing. While most feedback reports were positive some individuals and organizations found the rifle to be under powered and lacking in some situations. After getting this feedback the AR-01 was released to the wider market but began work on a variant of the AR-01 that was chambered in a larger caliber. After much testing they decided on the 7.62x51mm cartridge as it added enough stopping power without over stressing the recoil buffer system.
After they finished this up-calibered variant of the AR-01 they sent it to the individuals and organizations that had reported the AR-01 had been underpowered. After testing they found it to be exactly what they needed to augment their stock of AR-01's. After these serious of tests they branded the rifle the Battle Rifle-Model 01 and released it to the wider market.
