- Big Boomer: The KGL-1 uses 40mm grenades and therefore has a massive amount of stopping power even if not landing a direct hit
- Variable Payload: 40mm grenades come in a variety of payloads ranging from high explosive to smoke to buckshot to even chemical weapons
- One and Done: The KGL-1 is a single shot weapon, this means after each shot it must be reloaded and this severely hampers its rate of fire
The Kathol Republic finally decided to make Hekler'Kok their main supplier of weapons and armor and therefore contracted them to design and produce yet another weapon for them, this time a grenade launcher that could be used independently or underslung on the KMIWS-1. This time around the design team was given complete freedom to produce the weapon though there wasn't much in the form of liberty they could take with such a simple project.
Picking out the design was rather simple considering what the Kathol Republic wanted and so the design team went with the classic single shot grenade launcher, or basically a glorified tube with a firing pin to lob grenades. They constructed the entire thing out of their patented Alusteel-Titanium Alloy, not constructing the barrel out of any special materials due to accuracy not being a issue, and coating it with a ceramic protective material, giving it that distinct tan coloring.
Again there wasn't much they could do in the way of features for the launcher but they did their best. An ambidextrous safety was added for well safety's sake, a folding foregip was added to help with aiming, a mounting bracket for underslung and a folding leaf sight and telescoping buttstock for when using the launcher independently.
