- Kinda Just Average: In every other aspect besides weight and stopping power the KSP-1 is just kinda average and doesn't really excel
With the relative market success of their flagship product Hekler'Kok began looking for ways to expand their currently bare inventory. Thankfully they didn't have to look far as they were soon contacted by the Kathol Republic to produce a large amount of military equipment for them. Seeing this as a chance to further expand into more markets they jumped at the chance and began crafting designs for the pistol, the first thing that was requested.
Like with any military contracts the Kathol Republic had a few things that had to be in the design: It had to have ambidextrous controls, had to at least chamber 12-13 rounds, had to be able to put down a humanoid target with 2-3 shots and had to be able to accept suppressors. While some weapons companies might balk at these seemingly restrictive parameters, Hekler'Kok found that they could still work with them while retaining some degree of creativity.
Like with all Hekler'Kok products the first aspect they had to figure out was the materials they would use. They decided to use Hekler'Kok's proprietary Alusteel-Titanium alloy to construct the slide, frame and internal mechanisms, this construction serving to make it rugged yet maintaining an average weight. They constructed the barrel out of Quadanium steel, making the barrel slightly heavier than others but giving it the benefits of slightly limiting recoil, the barrel was also lined with Chromium to reduce the wear and tear on it. Lastly they finished the pistol off by coating it in a protective ceramic material to reduce wear and tear.
Once everything else was settled the team began to work on the features. Of course the features that were asked for, ambidextrous controls and threaded barrel, were included along with a slew of others. A optic plate was mounted on the slide for red dot and reflex sights, serrations were added to the front and rear of the slide to give the user a better grip when cocking the pistol, tritium nights sights to give the user better aiming capability at night, a accessory rail on the bottom of the frame for accepting lights and lasers, a textured grip to give the user a better grip on the pistol and a flared magazine well to assist in making reloads smoother.
