Cocked, Locked and a Smoking Barrel
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Once again the Hekler'Kok design team decided to create a new variant of their now rather successful polymer cartridge ammunition line. Without many further choices they decided to finally create an explosive variant. The explosive variant was decided on because it was decided something useful for destroying/piercing light cover and vehicles might be a good market.
As with most Hekler'Kok designs there were multiple different designs were invented and tested before a final design was decided on. Like with the incendiary variant the first idea was to simply hollow out the core of the bullet and fill it with an explosive material but again like the incendiary variant it was found that the explosive material would detonate too early or not at all. The next idea was to fill the core with a shock-detonated as well but unfortunately this had a small chance of exploding before exiting the barrel and this was deemed to dangerous for mass production. The final design was somewhat similar to the incendiary variant. An explosive material, baradium to be exact, was encased in the same polymer used in the cartridge and along with it a small pressure sensitive primer that would explode after a small set fuse, this allowing the bullet to punch through armor and/or cover then detonate.

- Various Cartridges:
- Rifle Cartridges:
- 5.45x39mm

- 11.63x43mm (.458 SOCOM)
- 12.7x99mm (.50 BMG)
- 14.5x114mm
- Lightweight: Due to it being constructed out of polymer rather than a traditional brass cartridge it ways about fifty percent less than a traditional cartridge
- Cheap: Since the cartridge is constructed out of polymer rather than a traditional brass cartridge it cost about twenty-five percent less to produced than a tradition cartridge
- Suppressable: Unlike most conventional blasters it is actually rather simple to suppress the noise emitted by slugs and slugthrowers
- Less Heat: Due to the mechanics of polymer cases the heat is directed towards the barrel rather than the action, causing less wear and tear on the weapon
- Universal: The ammunition is not limited to Hekler'Kok slugthrowers and can fired from any as long as they can chamber the proper caliber
- More Effective Against Vehicles: Due to the incendiary nature of the cartridge it can easily burn through metal giving it a edge against vehicles
- Cover Buster: The round is able to penetrate light cover where it will then explode once it penetrates
- Loud: On the other hand when the slugthrower is not suppressed it will make a decent amount more noise than your conventional blaster
- Not a Space Saver: Unlike blaster packs slugs are larger and will take up more space
- Not a Weight Saver: Slugs weigh more than blaster packs and will take up more weight
- No Pistol Selection: Due to the fact that many of the pistol cartridges aren't large enough to hold the required thermite no pistol cartridge are offered
- Lower Range: The extra weight added to the pistol lowers the range it can travel effectively
- Less Effective Against Unarmored: Due to over penetration of unarmored or uncovered targets it is advised these are not used against such targets
