- Shoulder Fired Cannon: Because of the fact that that VML-01 is in essence a cannon that can be fired from the shoulder it lends itself to having a both tremendous amount of firepower and range
- Varied Ammunition: Another facet of being what is basically a cannon the VML-01 has access from to a wide variety of ammunition from high explosive to demolitions to incendiary to smoke rounds
- Shoulder Fired Cannon: While there are some good qualities of being what is basically a cannon there are also some bad qualities such as the weapons high weight and extreme size
- Slow Rate of Fire and Low Capacity: Another bad quality of being a cannon is the fact that the weapon can only fire a single round at a time and is quite slow to reload as well
- Backblast: Due to how the nature of a recoilless rifle works a lot of gas in vented out the back and if someone is standing behind it when fired they are likely to be severely burned
After creating the AGL-01 the design team at Hekler'Kok once again went through their catalog to see if they were missing anything else and found yet another niche that needed filling. They found that while the AA/AL-01 was great against armored vehicles and aircraft it was a waste to use it against things like buildings and fortified positions. In order to solve this they began to design a weapon to fill this role. They decided that a recoilless rifle would be the best type of weapon to fill this role and settled on 90mm as the best ammunition type for the weapon.
With this in mind they began to choose the materials for the weapons construction. They choose the usual Titanium-Alusteel alloy for almost the entire weapon due to its lightweight yet sturdy construction. The barrel was plated in Chromium to reduce wear and tear and lastly the entire weapon was plated in CeramiCoat to reduce external wear and tear.
With this done the team began to work on the features to include into the weapon. As with all weapons that Hekler'Kok Defense Industries produces the weapon has ambidextrous controls. A targeting scope was added onto the weapon to allow for increased accuracy at longer ranges, as well as a set of adjustable backup iron sights to closer range engagements. A padded shoulder rest added in makes it more comfortable to fire from the shoulder. An integrated monopod allows for better stability when firing as well as a bipod/tripod/pintle mounting system for even more stability as well as mounting on vehicles. Lastly the system is able to be split into two separate pieces for easier transportation.
