Hell, what do Republic Privateers do?

I dunno if this is already a thing, but I came back and the two character I wanna use the most (Evard and Gavin) sort of have no place in the Republic.

Gavin is very much a mercenary, and Evard is as far from a patriot as you can get. So, they're privateers, as far as I can tell...

But what do I do with 'em?!


Also, is there an unaligned planet with a Force Nexus on it anywhere? Sort of want to finally get Evard doing some alchemy

They take contracts from whomever pays well enough.

I'd be surprised if every person in the military is a patriot. Some do it because it's a job, or because they like the work I suspect.

And GRIM is always looking for people who are prepared to sail close to the law and even go past that line on occasions

Privateers are essentially government-paid pirates. I'm one of them.

So long as we don't do anything criminal in Republic space, enact hostilities against the government, and stay relatively peaceful, the Republic pays you to serve alongside their military or defend against other pirates and Sith forces.

They're also given letters of marque.

Oh, I know what privateers do in general. And I knew about Letters of Marque from 8th grade history.

Was more asking what I should do with those two characters, specifically.
