Hello :) (couple of questions too)

Lovely to meet you all!

I had a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering please :)

I'm in the process of writing up my character creation, but unsure of planet names and locations to put in the biography section. Do I just make up a name of a place, or does it have to be an official location?

Are there any force capabilities not allowed, or can I be super creative, as long as it's not OTT?

Also, I read somewhere about this account is the writer account, and then sub accounts for characters, how do I go about creating one of those?

Thanks for your time :) Looking forward to getting started in the Galaxy!

Hi! Welcome.

You're free to use your writer account as a character account if you wish. It's personal preference. However you should have one account per character.

As for planets, you're free to create your own if you wish and even submit it to the Codex for official creation, otherwise you can look at the holonet map here and decide where you'd like to make your character from. The colors represent different factions that currently own the planet. No color shading means nobody rules over it currently.

Also, as for Force abilities, you can mostly do whatever you wish. There's nothing specifically banned, but some writers will take issue with some Force powers being used if your character is over the top, such as a 13 year old acolyte pulling a star destroyer out of the sky...Try and keep it believable and nobody will ever take issue for the most part.

Welcome to the Chaos!

The best place for SW info is Wookiepedia - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page- you'll find everything you need here; names, locations, weapons, powers etc

Also, best you stick with official planets from the SW films and ones created here. Check out the map - http://starwarsrp.net/page/articles.html/_/map/- as we are in a galaxy 850 years after events in 'The Force Awakens' which gives us a bit more freedom in stories.

Plus we stick with official Force abilities, we don't make up our own or it'll get crazy! But you need to start your Force User character if they are brand new as an Apprentice / Acolyte / Padawan so they can learn and develop with, potentially, a Jedi or Sith to teach them more and more. This allows you to grow with them and learn a bit about the site in general as you progress and also you character.

If we all started as super strong Jedi Masters or Sith Lords it'd be, yes, crazy!

I THINK that covers things, if I'm wrong I'll be corrected, but importantly just have fun with us and please keep the questions coming if you need help along the way.

:)

Great, thank you for your replies! I've made a sub account for my character now.

That map is great thank you for sharing the link. Perhaps if I give more information about my character, she is an orphan, sold by the orphanage to a weapons manufacturer. After a few years slaving there, the manufacturing plant gets raided by thieves that operate and live on a ship, during the heist the thieves destroy everyone in their path. In her attempt to escape, my character's force abilities catch the eye of the leader and he decides to take her as an asset. And so she grows up on a ship, though it's not a nice childhood and by the time she is 19, she steals the ship and abandons her 'crewmates' for dead.

How would I go about finding out where a weapons manufacturer is, and prior to her being sold, an orphanage? And I need to create the ship, but I have no idea where to begin haha

Thank you!!

Welcome welcome! Your friendly gentleman bounty hunter stopping by to say hello!

To be frank, we don't care how you do your Force powers. Some people don't discuss them at all. Others rank individual powers by name and numerical mastery. It's up to the member to decide how to do it.

Yeah I quickly researched a couple of powers I want her to have for sure. There are a few that she kind of has control over without training from a master. Then if she gets trained, I'll add some funky powers to her arsenal :D

Grateful for the help, thanks :D
