Hello Everyone

I'm a long time RP'er (8ish years), but first time dabbling in the Star Wars fandom! It's a pleasure meeting you all, and I hope to play dolls with people soon <3

Absolutely loving how everything looks here despite some of the confusing aspects (currency in forums is a bit of a first for me!) so bear with me as I stumble around a bit trying to find my footing with everything. That map is CRAZY and amazing, props to whoever made that happen.

I currently have ideas in mind for a padawan (unsure how finding a teacher would work for that so this MAY be on the back burner) or a mandalorian naur'alor in training (may also be on the back burner depending on what is and isn't allowed in terms of mandalorians). If anyone has any suggestions on how to go about those two, I'm welcome to them (Even if the suggestion is to go with another OC idea right now)!

AmoraArsonist AmoraArsonist welcome to Chaos! Don't worry too much about your concept - Chaos is a sandbox site, so you're sure to find a home for your charries one way or another. I suggest checking out Getting Started first of all and then just generally align yourself with the Timeline. Do note that there is a new timeskip in the works. We are currently, generally, in the year 902ABY.

As for Jedi and Mando stuff - it depends on where your concepts will fit best to your personal liking. Like Delila Castillon Delila Castillon just said, there are many options for your charries and the factions all have their own niches. Best bet would be to join the faction discords to get a better understanding of them - just makes communication a little bit easier.

Thank you for the reply! And yeah I was looking at the current factions but got a little unsure if I was allowed to jump into them without notice ;; Great to know I can slip in for a look!

Nice to know there are some timeskips too! I was wondering a bit if everyone preferred real or accelerated time (I don't want to be playing a like...16 year old forever if u get me)

You're very much welcome to jump into the factions - they're usually the best places to start at. The site can be a bit daunting otherwise :D

Welcome!

Jedi have the Royal Naboo Republic, The Foundation, and Galactic Alliance as the big ones. Mandos are the Neo-Crusaders, I think? The 'Factions' tab will be of more use on that front. I think both ideas are great and an easy entry into Chaos.
Thank you for the reply! I took a peak at the neo-crusaders a bit to see if that would be a good fit for my oc but I found myself a little bit unsure just based on the faction page, but now that ik I can join the discord to look around more I think I'll think on it a bit more!

It always helps to drop into the discords to learn a bit more. But if the Neo-Crusaders seem a bit too Crusadery for your concept, there are always smaller groups like the New Mandalorians to look at. Same goes for any other concept you might have. The clouds on the map aren't the only factions that you can fit in. There are some great Minor Factions as well. It's all about where you feel your character would fit best

Mandalorian you say? I'm biased towards The New Mandalorians because I'd kill and die for Jenn their head honcho, but I think they're a good gang of bucket heads who are fighting the good fight, and right now would be a good time time to get in on the ground floor of what they have going.

Regardless of what you end up doing if you want a morally complex sad sack of a Mandalorian to bounce off of hit me up. Welcome to Chaos!

Sad confusing sacks of emotion and morals are my absolute favorite type of character to play so I'll definitely take a look! Thank you for the welcome <3

The currency is optional flavour that you can choose to use or not use in your roleplay! Entirely up to you, but most people don't use it as part of their IC roleplay, except maybe some business owner characters and for paying contractors and bounty hunters.

Outside of that, it has only one or two actual purchasing uses on the forum these days, that are related to Major Factions gaining territory on the map, which is something you won't need to think about unless you're running a Major Faction and you've selected a mandate that uses the currency!

Welcome to Chaos!

Welcome to Chaos! As others have said, there are a few different factions to choose from that have both Jedi and Mandos. I myself am one of the admins for the Royal Naboo Republic and know that myself, or any of the other admins, would be more than happy to help you figure out a character concept/spit ball ideas with you for a Jedi if you wanted to join The Order of Shiraya. There's also The Foundation, which has more of those Rebel/underdog feels if you're more into that, they have a unique concept on Jedi and their approach, and of course there is the classic Galactic Alliance which has the NJO.

Like Zhea said, you might want to just jump into the various discords and see what jives best for you/what feel/approach you enjoy and go from there.

Welcome again!
