Hello

Hi everyone!

I'm pretty new and english isn't my main language. I hope I can still try myself on some RP. Since I'm really new here I hope someone can answer me a few questions. If this is the wrong place, please tell me where I should post them instead.

In the character creation forum I see multiple posts that specify the force abilities and the level of proficiency. Yet I can't find any system for this anywhere. Where do I find the "point" system or what is being used for creating force sensitive characters? I assume that there is a point system like the approved ships I've seen or something similar. If not, are the level and knowledge completly made up and can differ from absolute useless to almost godlike (not that I want to make something overpowered, just want to understand the system)?

Also the rules said you can't make someone younger than 13 and somewhere else I've read that "selling slaves" is forbidden. So I guess a slave child that's bought out by a Jedi and is going through youngling training is not possible then, right? Except as a backstory perhaps.

Anyways I'll read up on some threads and hopefully have an idea about how to start this adventure soon.

Thanks for taking the time to read my rambling.

R Rubedo welcome to Chaos! I hope you'll enjoy your stay. And if you have any question, feel free to ask! :)

There is no point system, you can write such character you want. This can be helpful:

Faith is the heroism of the intellect.

Now to answer your questions:

  1. While there is no set "point system" (I'm fairly certain the style in which you are referring to), and it is a "You do You"/Honor system type of game more based on a good story, You will find that some DO INDEED put point values to their bio pages. That is their choice, and thus it would be your choice as to whether or not to do one, but it is not required.
  2. Again, as to the level of your character, "You do You", but take heed in that if you make the second coming of "The Chosen One", or a Force User so strong that even those NOT attuned can detect his presence (don't laugh I've seen people do this on other sites! haha), It all boils down to how you treat your character and your willingness to work with others. Overall you will find GREAT people to play with, but it is a "give and take".
  3. The Slave rule was based around another issue, so I personally am not sure about this, but I would err on the side of caution here and maybe make your character (should you choose this route) a few years in the Jedi Temple out of that situation.
If you have any more questions, ask away!

Thanks for the welcomes!

That's the tutorial I'm checking out right now. What I don't quite understand is how gear and abilities are managed. I've read that only factions have armies and fleets, but what's stopping someone to start with multiple weapons, a ship, a vehicle for the ground and maybe a crew of droids while being strong in 9 out of 10 force abilities. I was expecting some kind of balancing rule.

Thanks for the welcome! And that answers alot.
Yeah why I wanted a young, slave start was exactly for the very reason that I prefer to earn the things I get instead of starting overpowered. I'll come up with a different idea then, but a young force sensitive who's becoming a Padawan is tempting. And according to canon thirteen is already too old to be taught in the official Jedi Order. I'll think about something.

Well, this game is not entirely "canon" so I wouldn't worry about that. ;)
If you are concerned about continuity, you might want to consider the thought of your character having lost their Master in one of the recent battles (For example the recent battle of Tytlon that just ended the other day), perhaps your Padawan is being reassigned to another? Just a thought.

The slave rule was related to the Underworld Credits system. You can't in your writing start buying/selling slaves with UC's. You can have a slave backstory though, and slavery as a story topic is fine as well.
