Hello!

I've been recently pointed towards the various Star Wars RP boards by a few friends after voicing my desire to scratch that Roleplaying itch, and this one with its visual looks alone appealed to me greatly. So I've spent the past day or two lurking and reading up on what I can before I created my account.

Aside from that I've been RPing/Writing for the better part of nine 9 years, and I'm a pretty big Star Wars nut, so it's a match made in heaven. And while I'm relatively new to a few of the systems these Star Wars RP boards have, I'm excited to take my future characters from the very bottom to the top.

I should hopefully have my first character's profile up and ready after Christmas Day, though for now I have a couple questions:

1. I wasn't able to find any specifics on what occured during this period of time so I was wondering, did any Force Users that dissappeared during the Netherworld arc ever return?

2. It is allowed for a 'newborn' character to have previously been say a Jedi Knight, but due to an event pre-RP has had their slate reset so they have to relearn everything? I ask because I have in mind to reinvent an old Star Wars character I enjoyed roleplayed years ago, but its old enough to the point where I don't think I can transfer over their Knight status, Force powers, etc.

when you say 'old' Star Wars character, are you referring to a character you made on another site?

if you are new, then you start off as padawan. if you have links then I think it can be altered.

Yeah I'm referring to a character I made long ago, but at this point I don't think I'll be able to find links as it was several years ago now. Plus if I remember correctly it wasn't even an RP board like this one, so the character never likely started off as a Padawan so I don't think it would've been fair even if I could link it. Either way I'd still like to use the idea that the character had a previous history in the Jedi Order, but due to events that precede the introduction they have near to no memory of their past (the truth being its very fractured), and all the past knowledge is gone so they start as a Padawan/Acolyte/Apprentice (depending on which path things go down) again and never be able to fully retain their former Force proficiencies, combat styles, etc.

Once the character profile is up it'll probably be a lot clearer than my ramblings on here xD, but I had those couple questions on my mind before I can really dig into getting it written.

As long as you respect the Padawan to Knight progression (i.e. don't try to knight yourself, etc) I don't see why that wouldn't work as a back ground story, personally. It's fluff, rather than the power level of the character- which should be fine.

[member="ShadowClaw"] Looks interesting!

Just remember that the character should have the functional power level of a Padawan? And that you won't be able to actually call him knight (in your tags, etc) until you earn it here :)

Welcome to the board @ShadowClaw :)

Great stuff with the bio there, I like it a lot.

Anyway, I should hopefully get Jacob's introduction kickstarted tomorrow, though I'm unsure whether I should make it public or private?
That question, answer depends what you're looking for. What sort of thread is it? Do you have people in mind to join it? If you don't have anyone lined up but want some company anyway, make it public and then maybe advertise what you want on the LFG section. If you want a more controlled environment with people you trust, make it private!

[member="Samka Derith"] Thanks for the welcome!

And well the idea is that Jacob is being introduced as a blank slate, so rather than me just going "oh he'll just go down this path" I figured why not make it interesting and try to have atleast one Jedi, Dark Jedi and Sith involved and let the chips fall where they may and see which side convinces Jacob. Or something like that. I have ideas of what kind of path he'll go down depending on the side joins up with, like say if he were to rejoin the Jedi I could see a path of "try to seal the craziness away and retrain" or if he were to join the Sith I could see it become a case of "dominate the craziness and use it."

So I guess overall it should probably be a Private thread, I don't have any particular folks in mind so I'll make a post in LFG.
