Help Me, Help You

Night was upon the world of Anaxes. Darkness decended onto the the Capitial, where The Orion Corporation HQ was located. The metallic pillar was a symbol of the militarisation of the planet and the ever growing threat of invasion from the One Sith. The CEO of the company, Slate Estrada was apart of the Galatic Republic and would do everything in his power to prevent the One Sith of succeeding. Until that day came, Slate would stay with his company helping it to grow. Recently he had come into contact with a fellow Galactic Republic Military officer who was interested in what The Orion Corporation had to offer.

The man was scheduled to arrive later this night. It was unlikely for the man to get lost considering how large building was compared to its surroundings, the company's logo and name was also proudly attached to the side of building. But before his client would arrive, Slate had nothing to do therefor he resulted to playing a cheap on his personal computer that was situated under his desk.

Gir Quee strolled around the streets of Anaxes. While he had been to the system several times, this was the first time he had ever set foot on the world itself. A strange world...Gir glanced up at the rising towers of the city and involuntarily shuddered. He wasn't much of a big fan of cities, preferring to live in smaller communities, even if it was on a starship out in space. Yet here he was, standing at the foot of a skyscraper that was The Orion Corporation's headquarters.

The blonde man quickly passed through the foyer doors and made eye contact with a receptionist, "I'm here to see Mister [member="Slate Estrada"]."

Without a word, the receptionist nodded and tapped away at her monitor screen. Following this was the sound of various beeps, "Mister Estrada will see you now. Please step into the elevator and head to the top floor." Before Gir could say another word, the young women began to tap away at her monitor, as if she had forgotten the blonde man was even there.

The elevator was completely covered in white sheets that relented and rebounded the lights from wall to wall. The journey to the top floor wouldn't take long and it was unlikely it would need to stop for any other passengers. Once at the top floor, the occupant of the elevator would find themselves in a large, open room covered in the same white sheets. The only thing obstructing the bright walls were a set of the double doors that would lead into Slate's officer.

Gir nodded at the receptionist and proceeded into the designated elevator. With the push of the button, the man found himself surging upwards towards the top of the building. Seconds later, the doors slid open to reveal the president of the Orion Corporation, Slate Estrada, in his penthouse office. Gir strode forward to meet the man, and after a brief nod, stretched out his hand.

"I am Gir Quee, of Lucerne Labs."

As the well mannered man step towards Slate, he stood up from his seat and reach out his hand to meet Gir's. After clenching the CEOs hand, Slate began to shake it, greeting him. "It's nice to finally meet you Mister Quee. Slate Estrada at your service." After saying this, he released the grip on his hand and returned to his seat. He then gestured to the seat beside Gir, inviting him to sit down.

"Welcome to The Orion Corporation. Shall we discuss business?" Slate finished, looking towards the CEO.

Gir sat down in the chair provided to him, "Thank your Mister Estrada. As I understand it, you're looking for some new starships for your corporate fleet, and I'm looking for an arms supplier to equip my security forces. One of my associates showed me an ad of your new scattergun. It looks like it would be well-suited for my security operations."

[member="Slate Estrada"]

Gir was right, The Orion Corporation fleet was had very few ships, causing the companies disturbutation of products to slow. Slate needed new ships and the sooner he got them, the better. "Yes, you are correct. I believe you are talking about the CCS-1, a very efficient weapon. It should do you're secruity fine." Now all that was left was to find out what Gir Quee would be offering, hopefully it would be what Slate was looking for. "So, what starship will you be offering?"

[member="Gir Quee"]

"Yes, I've heard much about the craft." Slate shifted his view to his monitor. He began to swipe through various pages before he found the page we was searching for. As Slate swung the monitor around, it was clear the page that was displayed was the design sheet for the CCS-1 (http://starwarsrp.net/topic/43037-ccs-10-multi-purpose-weapon/). "So, how many do you want, and how many starships will you be providing?" Slate left the monitor tunred to Gir, allowing him to look at the details of the weapon.

[member="Gir Quee"]

Gir had only read about the general ideas of the scattergun, simply relying on the expertise of his security chief, who had lobbied heavily for the scattergun's inclusion into their corporate armament. While Gir did not know much about handheld weapons, even without that knowledge, he certainly knew that it looked intimidating. And sometimes that alone was important for security work, especially as a deterrent. Price was always one of those trickier issues, but with the long-term relationship in mind, Gir wasn't looking to make much of, or any profit. He would just be looking for a fair trade.

"Well, I was hoping to get more than simply the guns," stated Gir quietly, "I was also hoping that your company would be willing to supply ammunition to go with thus guns. My security chief states that it can fire multiple types of rounds, and I believe he mentioned the two types that he wanted were slugs and buckshot, in equal parts. Tentatively, we would like to start with 150 shotguns along with a year's worth of ammunition for each under normal conditions, including ammunition for yearly qualifications and a small reserve. Very likely we will purchase more of them in the near future after this test batch. In return, I was thinking of offering 8 shuttles along with free maintenance and repairs for two years at our Bilbringi and Gyndine locations. How does that seem to you? Did you have any particular thoughts on this trade?"

[member="Slate Estrada"]

"Of course The Orion Corporation can supply you with ammunition." The manufacturing of the ammunition would be simple, but the amount he needed was the problem. Gir had said he needed a years worth of ammunition, Slate would have to crunch some numbers before he could calculate how many rounds they would need.

Depending on the opposition that the forces may be facing, the number of shells that would be needed could vary dramatically. Slate made the assumption that a year supply of ammunition for one CCS-1 would be 150 shells, granted the secruity were not trigger happy maniacs. "From a rough number crunch, I recommend you order 22500 shells in total. 11250 buckshot and 11250 slugs, as your secruity chief requested." "Does this seem like an ideal amount? You can always order more if necessary."

Since it was the first contract between the two, Slate would drop the price of the ammunition and allow the 8 shuttles to cover all the costs. It was no secret that the shuttles were much more expensive to manufactuer and purchase than 150 CCS-1s. "Are you expecting any additional payment for the shuttles?" Slate finished.

[member="Gir Quee"]

Gir shook his head, as he did not have any more questions. While the sticker cost of the shuttles might certainly be more expensive, Gir wasn't planning to make any money on them at all. The Orion Corporation would be getting them at production cost in the trade, if the ammunition was included. Gir calculated that simply having the Concordes in use by another corporation near to the Core would be good for business for Lucerne Labs, as in a way, it would be free advertising. And Anaxes was at the center of the Republic government, the shuttles would probably be seen than far more people (and likely influential people) than they would in the sleepy expansion world of Gyndine, the base of Lucerne Labs. In the same way, Lucerne Lab's use of the CCS-10 would be a boon to the Orion Corporation, as word of mouth and exposure to a different area of the galaxy would increase its recognition and draw new people to investigate the Orion Corporation's offerings.

"I think that amount of ammunition falls in the ballpark number that my security chief mentioned," said Gir quietly, "if my security chief wants more, like you said, we will simply order it as necessary."

[member="Slate Estrada"]

Before Gir would be shown out, Slate would need some extra information and details on the order. "How long is it expected to take before the shuttles are ready? The weapons should take about a 10 business days, while the ammunition should take ugghhh-atleast 2 weeks due to the size of the order." The factories were new and were not manufacturing at complete efficiency yet, however an order of this size should allow the comapny to get on track and hopefully bump up the speed of the process.

Turning the monitor that faced Gir around, Slate tap the screen, ordering the equipment his new business partner required.

[member="Gir Quee"]

Gir nodded, "The first four shuttles should start arriving in about one week, with a second batch to arrive the week after."

Lucerne Labs kept a small amount of vessels available for purchase at all times, which would be where the first batch would be coming from, but the second would be going through their finishing touches and test runs while the first would be delivered. As soon as the second batch had been run through their paces and found satisfactory, ferry pilots would take the group over for delivery to the Orion Corporation.

As of so far the deal was going perfectly. Soon enough Slate would have the deal locked and The Orion Corporation would begin it's next step into expansion across the galaxy. The profit made in this deal would also add to the companies rapid and continuous expansions. "Sounds perfect to me Mister Quee."

"Is there anything else you want to know about the CCS-1 or The Orion Corporation? Or are we done?" He asked, standing up ready for the Gir to end the meeting and closing the deal.

[member="Gir Quee"]

The deal had concluded. The first step of the rapid expansion was complete.

"Well the Mister Quee, it has been an absolute pleasure!" Slate exclaimed as he held his hand out ready for Gir to meet it with a shake. Gir Quee seemed like a very friendly and negotiable man, Slate believed the two would meet again a lot more in the future and hopefully preform more deals such as this one.

After the handshake between the two, Slate would his newly found business partner to the lift where they would split.

[member="Gir Quee"]

Gir promptly shook [member="Slate Estrada"]'s hand and smiled, "It has been. I'm sure we'll meet again, Mister Estrada."

The blonde man followed in the man's wake to the lift; the doors promptly slid open, and Gir began his depart from the building.

"Remember, if you need anything g from The Orion Corporation, don't be afraid to ask", these were Slate's final words to the other CEO. The deal went well and Slate didn't doubt the two companies would partner up in the future. The doors of the lift would soon close on the two and Gir would begin his descent to the ground floor of the building.
