Denon Academy Towers

It was a cold morning outside her tall silver windows. The fast falling snow glittering quietly among the still gray skies. The morning traffic seemed almost out of place among planet Denon's cold dizzying star lanes. The red blurry streams of car lights and floating repulsar engines, all dashing about to and fro in the somber morning fog. Disappearing both this way and that. Their fuzzy white motion muddled and obscured the back drop of swirling gray city clouds. She smiled and sighed as her warm morning breath began to fog the tall silver window sill. Smiling and sighing while looking out beyond her tired morning reflection and out at the millions and millions of people who traveled the snowy skies beyond. She was warm. She was content. Watching millions and millions of people all floating quieting above an endlessly wide and endless expansive continent covering city.

Planet Denon. Her home.

The sudden tapping on the apartment's front door broke the stillness of her quiet morning and returned her to the present moment. For though It was still too early in the day for most, time did not wait for a student of The Academy. Especially not for today. For today was to be her final test. The great finale to all her years worth of mental and physical training. The final exam and lasting testament that all well matured students of The Academy were expected to endure. No matter how early she awoke, no matter how quiet the morning dew. She knew her mentor would still be waiting for her downstairs. Waiting by the slowly warming car against a back drop of freezing white snow. Ready and willing to whisk her away from her perfectly quiet morning and throw her headlong into her early morning preparations and rigorous daily exercise. She could see it in her mind. She could feel it swirling out in the void. Visualizing the image just as clearly as she could see the ruby lights and dashing cars outside her glistening silver window. Because In just a few hours her final exam was sure to begin.

The final test of the Magi. A final test of the Force.

She pulled away from the window and nodded towards her apartment's front door. It was time for the the day to begin. So she slid on her robe, moved quietly across her flat, and slowly opened the door. Nodding out to the feminine robot butler beyond.

"Good morning Apprentice Rimini" A tall silver robot mused. Giving a quick and clever lean of her shoulders, "Master Cane sent me to see that you awoke on time. She mentioned she would be down by the car shortly."

"It's alright. I'm awake. Please tell Master Cane that I'll be right down. Thank you."

"Of course Apprentice. And please have an excellent day."

Bellonica smiled as the droid attendant turned and took her leave. Then she slowly closed the apartment door and moved herself to the bath refresher. She would wash and dress. Pull a her long brown hair and tug on her tall black boots. She would smooth on her fuzzy fur jacket and smile into the glossy white mirror. Happy and calm. Poised and wide awake. Ready for another perfectly good beginning to another perfectly good day.
