Mission Hunting down pirates for The Sith Empire

*Mayday Mayday....This is the Black Star... Requesting immediate assistance! Engines inoperable*​

It felt like it had been weeks since he had activated the emergency beacon that now continuously broadcast his distress message. Of course nothing was actually wrong with The Black Star, the beacon was merely bait..... And he was fishing for pirates. To be more accurate he was hunting the pirates that had been harrassing the transports and freighters passing through Sith Empire territory..... And this he found unacceptable. Not do to morals mind you, Jayce was merely ridding himself of competition...Those were HIS freighters to highjack.

The modified YT-2400 known as the Black Star drifted aimlessly amongst the stars.... A predator waiting for prey.

The young Sith that owned this particular vessel currently sat crosslegged on the durasteel deck plating meditating. In his meditative state he was reaching out with the force.... Feeling for anything or anyone that may be coming to his rescue.... Or their demise.

"Captain, there is appears to be a ship in distress in our way," reported an indifferent sounding crewman.

Mayumi spun around lazily in the captain's chair of the Juniper. Allowing the chair to completely circle twice before coming to a stop facing front, Mayumi sighed.

This part of the galaxy was so boring!

Why had she to chosen to come out this way? Yeah sure, there were some freighters and transports. But they were easy targets and didn't pose much of a challenge. There was no excitement in harassing some poor transport crew, all they did was cry and plead for their lives. It was really just depressing to have to listen to after eight times or so.

Mayumi eyed her crewman, "and this impacts me how, Philip?" Yeah, his name was definitely Philip. Or was it Juan....?

"Would you like us to alter course, Captain? They have sent out a distress signal." Philip/Juan asked warily, sensing that his captain was in one of 'those moods.'

Sitting up straighter, Mayumi tapped her chair in annoyance. "Fine, fine! Open communications." At least it would give her something to do. The distressed ship was of little interest to her, but maybe there was some fun to be had. Even if it was just robbing the vessel and taking whatever there was of value.

"Communications established Captain," reported Philip/Juan/Bran..(?)

"Hey! Stop being so overdramatic, we're here to rescue you or whatever," Mayumi snapped tersely broadcasting to the adrift ship.

'This should be fun' the pirate captain thought with a sinister smile.

Is the only response she would get as the message continued to play on a loop. In all aspects the Black Star seemed abandoned, A quick scan would even show that there was even an escape pod missing. The only lights seen from the ship were emergency lighting.


The ship however was most definately not abandoned... Jayce Pryde was onboard. The young Miraluka halfbreed's eyes snapped open in the darkness as he sensed the other ship approaching.

Through the force he reached out... Searching for a weak mind onboard the approaching ship to ensnare, And finding one on the bridge. As his power slithered through the poor crewmans mind a single thought repeated itself inside the mans mind........Board that ship.

"There appears to be no one on the ship, Captain," the crewman informed his captain as he watched her continue to spin around in the chair. His mind suddenly felt foggy, almost if he was underwater. 'Board that ship...' repeating in his head.

Mayumi, unaware of the man's distress, spun back around. "So, it's just chillin out in space all by its lonesome?" she inquired staring at the image of the ship on her screen. This could either be an abandoned ship, plain and simple, or a trap. Mayumi was no stranger to enemies, she had made many of them in her life. But, the idea of passing up the opportunity for a free ship went against her nature. Choices, choices.

"WE NEED TO BOARD THAT SHIP" screamed Bran/Philip suddenly jumping from his seat.

The entirety of the bridge startled at his outburst, Mayumi included. Whipping her head around, she stood and advanced on her crewman. "Did you just tell me what to do Juan? Because I wasn't aware that you were the captain of this ship," she hissed out through gritted teeth. Her pale crewman stared back at her with almost no recognition.

Smiling to herself, she pulled the blaster from her belt and shot Bran in the head. His body collapsed on the floor with a thud. Holstering her blaster, she turned to face her crew. "So, we're gonna board that ship. Not because Philip said so, but because I said so. Understood?" The rest of the bridge crew nodded in fear. "Great, now clean this up while I go have some fun."

After a brief trip to get some weapons and supplies, Mayumi and two other crewman (Tina and Marlon?) had successfully boarded the apparent empty vessel. "Alright everyone, lets see what we can find. Also, if this turns out to be a trap it is totally Bran's fault."

"His name was B'Kala, Captain...."

Feeling his connection with the hapless crewmans mind sever Jayce quickly sprung to his feet and slid the terentatek bone mask down over his face causing the built in HUD to kick on allowing him to see better in the darkness.

He could hear them in the tunnel between their airlock and his. Anticipation causing his right hand to flex itself around the hilt of his lightsaber. He was ready for them...

As expected the airlock slid open and two crewmen stepped through first to make sure it was safe for their Captain..... In a short sequence of flashing red beam, Popping hisses, And crackling energy those two crew members fell dead to the cold durasteel deck plating.

He didnt kill the Captain yet, nor did he plan to, But she did find herself face to mask with Jayce.... The cool metalic hilt of his lightsaber pressed just under her chin, waiting to be ignited by Jayce at a whims notice.

His voice was seemingly soft spoken for a Sith and held a hint of a southern accent to it as it escaped from behind his mask..... "You have five seconds to state your purpose on my ship or die pirate! One..... Two.....Three...

Pressing her chin down harder into the metal, Mayumi roller her head slightly while smiling. The masked man in front of her was one creepy dude and the fancy light stick meant he was a Sith (or something along those lines). Jedi weren't one for just killing random people, they always wanted to talk things out.

"To be fair, I did send you a message. It's not my fault if you didn't listen to it," she said in annoyance. The blaster in her hand digging into the Sith's stomach. Of course she was armed, she was always armed. Toni and Martin's deaths had given her time to draw it properly. "You also killed Trinity and Melvin, I liked them. You can understand why that would be upsetting for me."

Pressing forward so that there was minimal space between them, the metal under her chin pressed in harder. Contemplating firing the blaster, she calculated her odds. "Now, obviously I came here to steal. What else would I be here for, I'm a pirate. Ask better questions and don't waste my time."

Replied the masked Sith as he ignited his lightsaber with a Pop Hiss sending the vibrant crimson blade to extend downward and hopefully through the barrel of her blaster melting it closed before quickly turning the blade off once more...

You fell for an obvious trap and got them killed for it..... Not my problem..... My problem is whether or not youre the pirate thats been hunting in Sith Empire territory?

Stupid light sticks and their stupid weird crystal things.

Dropping her now useless blaster, Mayumi rolled her eyes. "Hey, Trevor and Mary were good people, I think anyway. To be honest I really didn't know them that well. You know how it is with pirate crews," Mayumi said attempting to stall. Her crew would realize her radio silence soon and would send in another team, but there was no guarantee they would be effective. Force users were powerful and had magic weapons.

"Not currently, no. The transports through these systems carrying nothing of value to me. Which is why my crew and I were leaving this system until we ran into your ship," she said truthfully. "Well at least I know why Philip was so keen we come on this ship, you people and your mind control."

Came an almost playfully toned voice as the young Sith lord pulled his saber hilt away from her throat and tapped something into a small keypad on his wrist.... Whatever it was caused the interior of the ship to be filled with dimly lit lighting.

After clipping his lightsaber back to his hip hed remove the boneplate mask to reveal an almost boyish face as he turned to walk back towards the cockpit.

Then perhaps you have heard rumors of who mat be perptrating these attacks on my..... I mean Imperial frieghters???

He'd believed her when she said it wasn't her and her crew doing this.... The ones in question had been killing everyone aboard and destroying the ship after theyd gotten what they came for. She didnt seem to be that type... Other wise she'd have just destroyed his ship and moved on...

The man was young, but his youthful appearance was not cause to underestimate him. He was obviously confident enough to turn his back on her and put his weapon away. With him facing the cockpit, Mayumi deftly slide a blade from her jacket into her sleeve. His weapons put her at a disadvantage but in hand-to-hand combat she had a chance.

"Of course I know who they are," she responded glancing down at the bodies of her crew. "They are a large crew with a captain that I don't exactly get along with. However, I no longer have the proper ship or crew to take them on."

Force user or not, there was no way this one man thought he could take on the pirate responsible for the attacks. His ship would be blown to pieces before he even had a chance to work his mind control on any of them. "You don't either from the looks of it. Fancy glow sticks and Jedi mind tricks are not going to win this fight for you."

His head shook and a scoff escaped him hearing he belittle his baby.... He had stolen the Black Star when he was just a young teen. She might be old but Jayce had been through alot in this ship.....

"Scrap! Get your shiny metal ass out here and ready my ship!" he hollered as his gloved right hand smacked against the bulkhead..... "Karkin Droid"

With that Jayce would turn to face the female captain very cordial, albeit fake, smile crossing his lips. Yellowed eyes meeting her gaze and his seemingly laid back tone emitted once more. Then maybe we should BOTH go kill them then... I'll split the loot with you, Whatta ya say?? Wanna go splitsies on a killing spree??

And people say I'm unstable....

"Yeah, no thanks sweetums," Mayumi replied maintaining eye contact. What did he think, that she had a death wish. Sure their combined abilities could probably take down their common enemy. But, this guy would happily kill her after she helped him finish the job.

"If I'm gone for much longer, you're going to have half my crew board this rust bucket to retrieve me," she said with a grin. "Glow stick or not, you can't take out that many people at once. I also like being alive and I don't trust you in the slightest. You killed Titan and Merlin, who says you won't kill me."

The blade in her sleeve felt heavy as she slowly let is slide closer to her hand. "Now, I'm leaving and we both can go on our separate ways. Let's not make this difficult."

Taking a slow breath, she readied herself for a fight.

That is until her comm blared to life.

"Captain, there's another ship incoming."

"Ah crap on a cracker..."

His head tilted curiously to the side as a shocked look crossed his visage.... He was no ruthless killer, Well thechnically he was but that was beside the point entirely.

Uhhhhh Excuse you darlin but I rarely kill women.... And never one as pretty as you so how bout you drop that kni..... His words trailing as her comms kicked on. Hearing word of another ship Jayce pushed outward with the force to get a sense of their intentions.

YO SCRAP!! WE GOT HOSTILES!! Kick the engines! Go weapons hot!!! And hoist the Black flag!! Its time to dance!! Woooooo!!

A sadistic glimmer shined in his eyes as he turned back towards his cockpit and took off down the hall, Hollering back to the female Captain. Get back to your ship and get the feth outta here! I'll hold them off you.

This guy is bonkers...

Not having to be told twice, Mayumi began to head back the way she came. It was probably Kern, he had been hunting her down for a hot minute due to a slight misunderstanding (she killed his mother).

"Captain," her first mate Jeffry said through the comm, "the crew has mutinied and commandeered the ship. I am currently hiding in a utility closet."

"Are you serious, this is not the time. Is it because I killed Bran? He was being mind controlled," she yelled in anger. This was the fourth time they had done this. "I need off this crazy guy's ship!"

"That is inadvisable Captain, I have a plan to take back the ship. I will contact you when I have regained control," Jeffry stated in his stoic manner. "The income ship is Kern, he'll probably be wanting to kill you." With that her comm went silent.

"Great...let's hope Darth Bonkers knows what he is doing," Mayumi muttered to herself while heading back towards the cockpit. Plopping down in an available seat in the cockpit, Mayumi watched her apparent partner in crime flit about manically. "So, change of plans. Guess I'm going to be hanging out with you for a little while..."

Weeeeeoooooop deeeeetwooooo weeeeeeeeeeeoooo Static pops and sparks fly as the engines fire up and jump to full power REEEEEEEWOOOOOEEEEEEP!!!! Screamed the Black astromech droid as it flew from the engine room puffing smoke amd sending sparks as it crashed into a wall.

Jayce shook his head at the droid, his eyes widening slightly as tye female captain joined him in his cockpit... Ahhh sithspit Scrap!! We'll get you fixed good as new when we get back to Nar Shadaa... He reached up as he spoke and flipped several switches sending power to the weapons and detaching his ship from hers with a smile to her.... Welcome aboard the Black Star.... We kick names and take ass around here! Strap in darlin..... Its bout to get bumpy round here!

Mayumi quickly strapped in and watched the pilot warily. Being a pilot herself, she knew what this kind of ship was capable of. However, it also looked like it was in need of some repair along with the poor droid banging around.

Taking a another deep breath, she spoke "the ship chasing us is captained by a man named Kern. He has a crew of 200 and his ship has some pretty impressive weapon modification. The modifications has made it slower though then it would normally be but not by much. He's also kind of a momma's boy."

If Kern managed to board, she would have to fight him. He was no force user though and that was something she could handle. "You know what you're doing right?"

Well I'm sorry for his mama cause he done fethed up Jayce stated with a giggle as he punched the throttle forward causing the Black Star to blast forward and quickly away from the much larger ship, Which immediately began firing upon Jayce and his new friend.

Dont worry gorgeous.... I've only crashed like eight.... Maybe ten times at most This was a lie, Jayce was a hell of a combat pilot but he did crash quite often. Several bright ruby lances slashed past them as Kern's ship followed them with its lasers blasting. A few lasers peppered the hull of the Blast Star causing the ship to rock and sway...... But Jayce had a plan.

Taking a quick look at a small display that currently showed a star map of the current sector he was in caused a smile to form on his lips as he looked over at her and turned the Black Star directly towards a nearby black hole.... Alright lady.... When I say hit it imma need you to hit that lever and kick this beast into hyperdrive.....Otherwise we're gonna die horribly.

If any of her crew was alive by the end of this, she was going to kill them herself. Their little mutiny had left her in the hands of a potentially terrible pilot while being chased by someone she should have killed previously. Kern's ship was peppering them with laser blaster fire and the Black Star was no match for those weapons. At least they had speed on their side.

And they were heading towards a black hole, great.....

Following Lord Cocobananas, she readied herself for his signal. "Of all the ways I thought I would die, death by black hole was not one of them," she gritted it. "Oh, by the way. The ship that is chasing us, that is the ship you were looking for in the first place. If we survive, I would be delighted to hear how you planned to take them on all by yourself."

"Thats simple.. I was gonna get captured and brought aboard.... Then I was gonna kill Kern and steal his ship.... But this will work too.... I hope" Came a much cockier tone than before as he began to fight against the gravity of the Black hole..

The ships shuddering as laser fire peppered them let him no the dumb brute had fallen for the trap... The much larger ship would not yet be able to tell yet that the gravity well already had a grip on their hull. This caused Jayce to smile as he began to turn the Black Star away from the Black hole before turning to his new friend..... Your pal Kern is about to board the pain train on its trip to boomtown

"I'm not going to lie, I'm impressed that that worked," Mayumi said as she watched Kern's ship fall victim to the black hole. "I suppose I have to thank you, seeing as you just took out one of my enemies. We got off on the wrong foot, you luring me onto this ship and killing two of my crew and all." Mayumi still didn't trust the crazy force user, as of now she was stuck on his ship. She needed to get back to Nar Shadaa, Jeffry would rendezvous with her there once he took back the ship. There was also the issue of her needing an entire new crew...

"Kern is not the only pirate in this system who has been attacking freighters, but he definitely was the most prominent one. He had the best ship and largest crew. Now that he is out of the picture, other smaller pirate vessels will be able to pick up where he left off. While this has helped me immensely, Kern's demise may cause you more problems," Mayumi stated bluntly. She was obviously not going to mention that she planned to profit from this once she regained her ship. Kern had a lot of buyers who would not be looking for suppliers of certain products. "So, what's the plan now?"
