DESCRIPTION

The Hexus Pattern Slug Rifle is an ancient design, created to be economically viable for the self-sufficient Hexus Contingent warfleet. The rifle is caseless, giving it a high rate of fire while the twin drum magazine provides sustained firepower to suppress enemy infantry.

While blaster weapons are often a more cost effective choice for militaries, Hexus Contingent has lagged behind the galactic standard in its capacity to field infantry plasma based weapons. While Rakatan forces had fielded blaster weapons earlier, the relative ease in production of slug ammunition, increased reliability, smaller overall size and potential for greater firing rate made it the choice for the autonomous warfleet’s ground forces.
