My name is Silas Voor and I'm completely new to RP.I only had one or two sessions of DnD but that was years ago and since I'm not a medieval-times aficionado (I'm more of a sci-fi guy) I didn't really get into it.Therefore my experience is next to none.Recently I watched the Star Wars movies for the first time (even though I'm 24) and suffice it to say,I fell in love with the universe.So I decided to explore it by playing Star Wars themed video games such as KOTOR and SWTOR but I wanted a deeper experience and a chance to create my own legend in the universe.That's why I started searching the web for Star Wars RP sites ,consequently ending up here.

As I mentioned before I'm a total noob when it comes to RP sites such as this one and I would like some guidance.I kind of lost myself in the introductory posts.I mean what does a faction provide and how detailed should my backstory be?And after I post my character creation in the forums what comes next and how do I get into a story?Plus a thousand other questions..

Anyhow it's very nice to meet you all and I hope I will get to know you better as long as I stay here.

Here's a link to the Tutorial Forum. Read up and ask questions right back here. It's a big site and can take a little bit to learn. Hehe. Most people start by:

• Creating a character in the Character Creation Forum. Only a very brief bio is required to begin play and Templates are provided.
• Next, they usually drop by the Roleplay Discussion Forum and start a thread looking for people to write with. Factions (which are just Writer Groups) included.
• Then it's off the Open or Private Roleplaying Forums to begin playing. Very easy. Very freestyle.
• Once you're brave enough you can join a Faction and play with like-minded peers. Jedi, Sith, Smugglers, etc. Joining is easy and harmless. Promise.

You'll get the hang of it in no time. Personal initiative and a brave spirit. That's all you'll ever need. Enjoy.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.I will start creating my character's backstory piece by piece before I post it here and that might take a few days.Meanwhile I'll keep looking around to make myself more familiar with the whole setting of this site. Sam Jhovna, cheers for the useful information !
