Hey guys!

Hi! So i recently left a fantasy rp server after ~3 years on it due to personal reasons and have been seeking a new place to scratch the itch it once did
Starwars has always been a passive interest of mine, I grew up watching the movies and shows like most folks did and have continued to do so into adulthood. That being said I've never come to learn too much beyond the basics, enough to watch and enjoy but I couldn't exactly name any races or anything like that.
I was watching the Mandalorian again and I found the culture around them to poke the bear that is my love for lore involving interesting fantasy (or sci-fi, I believe starwars is both) cultures, so I got to looking for a place to rp it! And that's how I stumbled across here ^^
It's probably going to be an uphill battle of learning for me but I'm hopeful :3

Welcome to Chaos! If you need any help, feel free to send me a message. Also, if you haven't looked at it yet, Wookieepedia is a great resource to help fill out your knowledge and has all kinds of Star Wars lore packed into it.

However, keep in mind that this board is about 900-ish years out from the movies and TV series and most people either choose to ignore those things or refer back to it as ancient history, so don't worry too much about what you know/don't know from new canon, or even Legends. So long as you know that the Force = space magic, Blaster = Gun, etc, you'll be guuci.

I've been looking through the wookiepedia for info! knowing its 900+ years forward in time is also very, very good to know. I was worried for a bit I'd need to be learning every little aspect of lore, which admittedly isnt something i'd be entirely new to BUT it is a massive universe

Mandalorians are fun! They have a few factions or you can even be a Mando who has just joined another faction as a mercenary or something. Imagination is the limit! ( Mostly )

I showed up just over a year ago, having no experience with Forum RP writing, but had a deep love for fantasy stuff (and yes I agree with you, Star Wars to me fits the bill for both sci-fi and fantasy!) and of course I am a Star Wars nerd and, well....I never left! This is an awesome place to be and write awesome stories with other awesome people!

Definitely check out the discords of factions or groups you may be interested in, and certainly don't be afraid to toss up a 'Looking For Group' thread. Folks will see that and it's a good way to get connected!

Welcome! It can be daunting and overwhelming. But don't worry! You don't have to join one of the big groups to write, so don't feel pressured on that front! Just go with what feels right for you!

Mandos are fantastic! I know of some very good ones that keep New Cov very safe

Definitely don't need to know all the lore haha, even on Chaos, things here change so often that it's not super necessary to know every detail of what's happened (although it does have it's own board lore, if that's something you want to dive into).

Best bet would be to just find a faction that jives with what you're most interested in writing and go from there.
