Hey Guys

My son is in a really dark place right now mentally. Now, he thinks he draws beginner level and I'm trying to assure him he's much better than that, and that it's not just because I'm his mom. Please take a look and tell me what you think.

Thank you.

Anzat's How it's Done
Hair could use some work, shading's O.K, structure is great.

Definitely not beginner level, but not a masterpiece either.

Eyes are a bit wonky as in they don't exactly mirror correctly and the right ones pupil is into fairy land. Eyebrows suffer from this as well a bit I'd say.

Other than that, good work actually, especially on the nose. Try giving him some of Loomis books or "Drawing with the right side of the brain" if he wants some more material to help him improve. Loomis stuff is free online, just do a quick google search. The other one, either download from a torrent or buy it.

... This is definitely not beginner level. I mean, I guess I would be considered a beginner. And I can hardly make a face look like a face. This one, however, is way more than that. Even though not perfect, he has a lot of potential and I would say if he kept drawing, he could do something really wonderful. ;)
